6 Tips on how to spend Valentine´s Day as a Single Woman….

First off all, no I am not split up, we are still happily married and enjoying each others company very much but I thought why not share my experience with you. If it makes just one of you feel better I have reached my goal.

So I know how it is to spend Valentine´s Day alone and it sucks but there is nothing wrong with it and to be honest maybe you have the better time being home alone anyways. It always has been one of my favorite holidays (what could not be great about celebrating love, either it is self-love, friendship or your partner) and I have been single and even worse, also have been broken-up with on Valentine´s Day. I mean who does this? It is almost like breaking up with someone on his/her birthday. My firm belief is that he did it becaue he didn´t knew it was Valentine´s Day and not because he wanted to be extra cruel but who knows exactly.

So here are my tips to all the single ladies out there to make yourself feel better (they work I promise and you are not less worth if you don´t have someone to spend that special day with, be sure to have that in the back of your mind because I haven´t had that back then and felt pretty lousy and sad):

Cuddle up // For me cuddling up on the sofa has an enormous comfortable and homey factor and I love it. I instantly feel calm and a lot happier than going some place else. Put on your favorite lounge wear (the one I am wearing above is from Asos and I swear it feels like you are wearing a stuffed animal) and binge watch your favorite show / wear a face mask you love. No one is there to complain or switch the channel.

Chocolates // Get your favorite box of chocolates and if you like, eat them all.

Bubbly // Since treating ourselves is right up our alley why not get a bottle of champagne (and I am not hinting to get drunk because you are sad or lonely) as well. It will be a nice and welcome change to your weekday routine to celebrate yourself with a glass of bubbly.

Spoil your pet (if you have one) // It is going to make you feel better if you can give some love to your pet. Make them their favorite food (Chloe´s is chicken) or take some extra time to play with them. Pets are happy if you are focusing/interacting with them and also they love you unconditionally no matter what.

Meet up with a friend (call a friend) // I know this isn´t always possible cause everyone has a different work schedule or a different time zone or even has a partner/kids but if it is possible be sure to spend an hour somewhere drinking a cup of coffee together and find out what is new in each others lives (same goes for talking on the phone).

Treat yourself // Get the one piece which has been on your wish you always waited for a reason to buy. Whether it´s a new handbag, a piece of jewelry or the cashmere sweater you´ve been looking at every other week. You matter and you deserve it!!

Hopefully I could brighten your day a little with these few tips. Wishing you a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.
