Coastal themed airy Blue and White Nursery….

….

(

Our baby is a little over one and a half years now and I finally come around to post the nursery because I wanted to change it for her toddler years and realized that I have never shared it in the first place – so here we are!!!

The room has this gorgeous deep blue wall for a long time before we even planned for her (was used as my husbands former home office) and I didn´t want to paint it again so I decided to go with it no matter the gender and I have to admit that I love the outcome of it very much. Blue is a very calming colors and decor and details matter so much that it doesn´t always has to be blush or pink to  make it girly.

The Theme

I had two themes in my mind: a Ralph Lauren inspired nursery with touches of brown leather, teddy bears and blue gingham for a boy and a white and blue airy coastal theme with ocean creatures and shell details.

The second theme won and I really couldn´t start decoration although I have not finished it before she came (took me about 2 months more).

The Decor

When I am redoing a room it is always follow the same procedure. I have a theme and colors I want to incorporate and then I am looking for a carpet, curtains, pillows. These are the big main things I get first. Obviously after the furniture. Then I am getting fully into decoration. Storage bins that will match color and the aesthetic, decor that will match the theme. I want everyone to see the common thread of the room, even if no one cares but I. That should be enough am I right.

A lot of decor is sourced via Etsy, amazon and Temu. I can get customized pieces on etsy and most of the things on amazon and if amazon doesn´t have it, Temu it is. There isn´t a thing I have to compromise this wayy.

Furniture

Most of the furniture is from Ikea. I just reused the bed and the armchair from the big girls bedroom as well as the little white shelf. The rest is in this gorgeous oak shade and was a new found.
