I haveń t been to a nail salon in years and to be honest sometimes I would love to have those perfect and carefree nails back but it is what it is. I do not want to spend the time there so I have been searching up and down and trying a lot of different types of polishes and manicure optioins and I wanted to share my number one with you today.

The essie brand has been a favorite of mine for many years not only because of the hundreds of color options and cool limited editions but it just holds up so well.

The Essie ‘ Gel 2-step nail polish is supposed to hold up as long as two weeks without any chipping or scratching. All you need is a color of your choice and the top coat that is supposed to seal everything in. It holds up way longer than your ususal nail polish plus top coat but so far I haven ´t made it to two weeks (but maybe only because I love to switch up colors a lot). Ten days are also a fabulously great outcome if you ask me.

There aren ´t as many gel nail polish colors as normal ones yet but this a great range to choose from and there are more and more so we will probably get to everyones favorite color very soon.

I am wearing a bright red here – Lady in Red. All the other colors are blush / pink / red but I am definitely getting a black or midnight blue for Fall / Winter.

It only takes tops 15 minutes and you are ready. Always depends on how many coats of color you are applying. Although it isn´t quick dry I think it dries up a lot faster than other polishes.

I have never been much out in the sun especially not since I turned 25 or so. I have avoided direct sun and sunburns like the plague and only went out early in the morning or late in the evening hiding in the shadow like a vampire. Also I never get a tan. I turn red and then go back to pale. There is no point in all the sweating, the burning and afterwards shedding. Sunburn is proven to trigger skin cancer. Sunburns as a child are even worse. The risk rises up to 50 %. This is why SPF on your skin is so important. 

So I am not a doctor and this is no medical advice (always ask your health care provider) simply what I have found out over the years. 

– no sunlotion for babies under 6 months cause the ingredients are too much for sensitive baby skin so shadow it is

– always reapply after swimming

– sunlotion combined with SPF swim clothing is even better 

– no sunbathing or staying in the sun all day for children

– a hat is very important 

– SPF 50 is perfect for children but everything is better than nothing

– if possible always use mineral sunlotion cause it has way less harmful substances wich can possible cause problems or illnesses later in life

 

SPF Products we use

I am a huge fan of the Hawaian Tropic sun lotions. The smell just puts me into vacation mood every time I use it and the glow it gives your skin is just amazing. I have also gotten the After Sun Lotion which cools down your skin in case of a sunburn. I always get the SPF 50 in the lotion. 

Another cool thing I have tried out this year is the Hawaian Tropic face powder. It has SPF 30 and is super easy to wear over your foundation.

Supergoop BB Creme – Very lightweight, high SPF, light coverage, perfect for a pool day, a little to glowy for me as I like a matte teint

Garnier Face Mist – did not like it at all, tried several times but it leaves little white spots on my face cause it doesn´t dry even

The Hipp and the Paediprotect sun lotion is in high demand in our home. Those are the two we use every day in the Summer time.

After seeing it everywhere I finally caved and got the viral amazon make-up bag. I am a sucker for make-up bags and am always on the hunt for the perfect one which means I have gathered a lot throughout the years but this one is pretty perfect. 

I took it to Lake Constance and the Europa Park with me and I didn´t bother unpacking it cause it holds everyhting and is just perfect. I decided to just keep my stuff in there cause it is now the place I can find everything I need on a daily basis and it also helps me get ready faster.

Also since I am already sharing some of my make-up products in the pics I wanted to link the current items I have been using for you. Revlon Professional Equave Detangling Conditioner // This one has become my go-to leave in conditioner. It works within seconds and makes your hair super easy to comb. Especially great if you have wavy hair or loosing a lot at the moment due to postpartum hair loss like me.

Physician´s Formula Primer // I tried this one because it has great reviews and I am on the lookout for another primer I would love but this one isn´t it. The smell is amazing and it is creamy and super easy to apply but it is not working for me. The pores seems to appear smaller or smoother but it doesn´t help my skin to stay matte at all. It gets shiny within hours after applying and I do not like a glowing / sweating look on my face. The Benefit Poreless primer is still my number one.

Emeda False Lashes // I bought this whole 10 pair pack of lashes for 10 Euro from amazon and was very impressed with the quality. The silicone band is clear and soft just how I like it. The ends stick out a little but you can cut them easily on both sides and then you have a perfect pair of false lashes. The brand offers different styles but I think I am going to stick with these. They are the perfect everyday piece for me.

CeraVe Face Wash // Was on the hunt for a new face wash and have seen this in some other bloggers cart so I wanted to give it a try. I was a little intimidated by the price first but to be honest it is huge and I now have it for about a year and there is still plenty left. It is designed for oily skin and to remove tallow and dead skin cells. For me it works great. Doesn´t smell bad and the most important thing – it isn´t drying out my skin. Cause if there is one thing I hate it is itchy skin!!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion // The hyped to the sky magical drying lotion. What other can I say about it than that it really helps. It does not make your pimple or acne zyst magically disapear but in my opinion it speeds up the process and shortens it about 2 or 3 days.
