How on earth is there always a mess somewhere. I have days where I definitely wonder where the messes are coming from cause I am trying so hard to prevent them and I am nearly done with organizing the whole home!!!!
This cabinet has been an eyesore since I have moved all things in there but I was just too busy to come around organizing it until Emilia searched for a specific cap and I have thought we lost it but found it two weeks later.
In fact it is a very simple undertaking ticked of in under 15 minutes if you have everything you need.
I already had two of the wicker baskets and got another two at JYSK. They fit perfectly and are only 11 Euro each, hold a ton and have a handle to pull out.
The tags are an old amazon find I have used in the girl´s room earlier. I didn´t need them much longer so I got some black and writable stickers on amazon and reused them.
These are the tags and these are the sticker. Both are very affordable and hold up really well.
Here are the before and after pics:

This post means two things – the most wonderful time of the year is over and I can organize the crap out of our Christmas decor and start the new year fresh.
I am very sad that Christmas time is over cause I have loved it so much this year. The girl´s had so much fun and where so in awe of every light and little detail. It was the cutest thing.
But like every season Christmas also comes to an end and we have to pack away all things magical. But how to do so. I am gonna say it as it is – organize it now and save time later. I myself have thrown everything into boxes years ago and just put it away and when the holly jolly time is back and you want to decorate and only find half of it somewhere joy is gone very quick.
So let´s organize….
Christmas Decor Organization and Storage Options
Wrapping Paper Storage
I have shared all about it in this short Instagram Reel. It makes a hell of a difference to have everything you´ll need for gift wrapping in one place than in three different. You can see what you have, what matches and what you could restock for the next holiday.
This is new to me and I have seen this last year and wanted to get one once this Christmas decor period is over and I am so glad I did. It fits my 3 garlands perfectly and I can see what´s inside and it is also protected from dust.
I have gotten two of these divided xxl bins for my ornaments and I am very happy about it. They are pretty sturdy on the outside and hold a lot of our Christmas ornaments. You can also recognize colors from the outside so it is even easier to find what you need.
I have used this huge bag for two years now and it is still my favorite way to store our tree. Of course this only applies to you if you have a fake Christmas tree. My mom is storing hers whole. She just has a cover to throw over and zip up. Only possible if you have the space and height to store it like this but also a great solution.
Bins are your friend here. In all sizes. I store all kinds of Christmas decor in there. Figurines and all of my fairy lights. The girl´s room Christmas decor and
I have folded my pillow covers, stockings, table runner and put then into this bin. On the other side are the Christmas pillows. Works great. This way I can immediately see what I got when I open it up again the next year. A little tip if you have lots of silky or shiny organza fabric – I put them in a empty pillow cover so they don´t get mixed up or a tear from another zipper for example.
One last tip at the end of this post. If you are storing your Christmas decor in your attic where temperatures change a lot between Summer and Winter make sure to remove your batteries from everything possible. First of all they will decharge and not work when you need your item again and second of all they are more easily to leak with the wild temperatures and damage everything around because of the agressive battery acid.
And another thing. Don´t store wax figures in your attic if it will get hot in the Summer. A few of mine have melted into unrecognizable lumps.
Y´all know how much I love an organized space am I right !! I am sure there are also some of you around who value a label maker and acrylic organizer as much as I do.
So for today´s organization edition I am sharing how I updated our bathroom cabinet. To be honest the bathroom is probably the only room in our house I don´t like. I think it is too dark and there is no space to put something else like a cart to add bath salts, flowers and towels in a decorative way other than that it is fine. It´s roomey and has lots of storage space.
So here is the problem. All the storage space in the world won´t help if you aren´t using it right and this is where I am sharing my process.
Tools I used for bathroom cabinet organization
Drawer Organizer // The acrylic drawer cases are the ones I have been using for about ten years now. You can literally store everything you like in there. From make-up to hair accessories to hygiene products to office supply.
Acrylic Container // I have sorted all of my travel sized bathroom products into these awesome acrylic containers. I divided it into different categories which makes it super easy to find and store away things. There are different sizes available but I went with the pack of 4 cause they fit perfectly into our bathroom cabinet.
Acrylic Tray // I planned on using this in a different way but it ended up in the bathroom with all the other organizational pieces but it fits all of my shower gels, oils and body scrubs perfectly plus it is super easy to clean in case something spills. This is another point why I love acrylic organizer / container. Easy to use and clean.
Medicine Box // To store all of our medication I got this huge box. It hold up all of our medication and also Emilia´s and Chloe´s things. The insert of the box has so many single compartments to organize everything you´ll put in there.
Lazy Susan // How amazing is a turnable organizer for your cabninet. It saves a lot of space and also has so so much storage space for all of your bath items. I organized things by category here. I have one lazy susan for all of my skin care and one in the above cabinet for all of my hair products.
we had a fun filled Easter weekend – a nice change to our usual days – with Easter Egg Hunt, having Easter brunch and overall some quality family time.
I also always use the time when my husband is home and can look after our daughter to organize a little corner in our home. It makes me happy and keeps me sane and the clutter to a minimum.
This weekend I organized / redecorated our Billy showcase that is in our living room. I use it to store all of our glassware and also my big candles in glass jars.
How to create the most storage space
Use your shelf from top to bottom
I got these small boxes with matching lids from Ikea and I was really sad in the beginning because I wanted to put four in one row and that didn´t work by a few cm but the upper shelf could not been any lower. Fortunately two fit on top of each other which saved me even more space. There isn´t much space left so this really is optimal.
Adjust your shelves so no space will be wasted
I changed the height of some shelves and put them as low as the top of the highest item was. This will add more space. Maybe just a little but it will pay off if you do this for every shelf.
Add extra shelves if you have the space
Another thing I did to maximize space in my showcase is adding shelves. By the space I saved I was able to add two shelves into my showcase and this really helped to store a lot more than I could before. Thankfully the billy showcase is always available at Ikea so it is not hard to get extra shelves. Maybe a thing to consider before buying a new piece of furniture.
Decorate with the things you are organizing
I took all of the beautiful glassware I own out of my kitchen cabinet and added it to my showcase. I own a ton of pretty glasses and finally wanted to “decorate” my showcase with them. The colors are all complementing each other and look great. Now that I can see what I actually have I am sure I am not going to forget the beautiful pieces so often.
Before After
I personally love a neat and organized home and I am happily sharing my tips and tricks with you guys. With the pandemic still going strong I almost organized the whole house so more content regading this theme is to come.
