What to wear to a Musical, Theatre or Wedding Reception…

I wanted to share this post so long with you but somehow it got lost in the hustle and bustle of summer and in my endless drafts folder. Anyways I am sharing it now as the topic doesn´t get old. There are always festive ocassions or visits around us so it normally would be great to have a great cocktail dress as a backup in your closet. Truth be told – probably no one has.

I am sharing more about the one I am wearing in today´s blog post but also about some others which would be appropriate for the opera or theatre or musical visits.

The cocktail dress I am wearing above is from Asos and I got in April for our trip to Hamburg. I wanted to wear it to the Lion King musical and I did. Loved it every second and felt super chic but not overdressed. The colorful pattern is super playful and made sure it wasn´t to rigid for a musical visit. I have to admit though the percentage of great dressed people has been very low. Many of them only wore jeans and t-shirt and in my opinion it isn´t to much to ask to wear a dress and heels / nice shirt and jacket, but obviously it was though. Most Germans aren´t the best dressed. I know and accept that but I thought at least in such a huge city with so many foreign visitors I would have seen better looks.

But let´s move on with the look. A pair of patent heels add the right flair to a dressy outfit. Just a little sexyness it needs. To complete the look I kept accessories in all black. My favorite bucket bag and a black fitted blazer from H&M. My lipstick is Rebel from MAC.

Fun fact about this look. I had glitter all over my hair and blazer jacket cause I bought the wrong travel sized hairspray. The Elvital ones come in satin and glitter finish but the bottle looks the same. I had the satin before so I didn´t read and just grabbed one and checked out. A few days later our whole room / myself was coverd in glitter as I wanted my hair to stay in its place during the musical visit.

can you remember my amazon fashion try-on haul from a few weeks ago, were I also introduced you to this beautiful flowy maxi summer dress that is available in 18 different colors and under 30 Euro ??

I have been dying to wear this dress and I finally have on our first evening in Peschiera del Garda. It is the most flowy and airy dress (which was much needed with these high temperatures) and the perfect outfit to style for dinner. I think you could also easily dress it down by wearing a pair of gorgeous sandals and a denim jacket. Since it was so hot I haven´t paired that much with the summer maxi dress. Only a pair of yellow wedges and a super fun mexican pinata inspired clutch I got from Asos.

Probably one of my favorite summer dresses ever with the high neck and the waist band. It has lining underneath and sheer from the knees downwards.

The dress only is available in one size. I usually wear a medium in dresses and it fit fine loose for me. So if you are wearing size large I think it would also be a great fit.

I hope you are enjoying your break from the heatwave and are actually able to have some fun outside. We honestly haven´t planned much so I think I am going to stay mostly in our garden and watch Chloe play and get some stuff around the house done.

Since most of the looks I am sharing on my blog are planned outfits I wanted to share the daily looks I am posting on Instragram stories as well on my blog cause there is always this one little prejudice that fashion bloggers only wear their clothes for shootings and that isn´t true, at least not for this blog.

Maybe this is going to be a weekly series or at least a post evey second week. I think this is a really nice change to all the “ perfect “ blog post pictures you see around all the time. Adding some pops of real every day life to my site.

I am going to link all the pieces which are still available and also the blog post I have worn the pieces already for a styled photo shoot. Food Friday – Spinach Mozzarella Spaghetti…

I am checking in with one quick and easy but oh so delicious recipe today. I love it this much I already made it twice in the same week. We are talking about spinach mozarella spaghetti.

The recipe itself is super easy and you can adjust it as you like it cause I always put some spicy seasonning into the sauce to make the most out of this simple dish.

So these are the ingredients you need and I bet most of them are ones which already sit in your pantry and wait to be used.

Ingredients:

– spelled spaghetti (you can also use normal ones)

– frozen spinach (about 1 1/2 cup but in fact you can use as much as you like)

– 2 cans of diced tomatoes

– 1 cup of heavy cream

– seasonings (salt, pepper, tomato seasoning and some chili flakes)

– mozzarella (dice it yourself or use the mini mozzarella balls)

– basil leaves to garnish you dish

Instructions:

– cook the noodles al dente

– make your sauce by putting the diced tomatoes, the heavy cream, the seasonings and the spinach into a pan and heat it up, stir ocassionally and taste to make sure you have seasoned right, I would start with a half taplespoon of each

– serve on a nice spaghetti plate and garnish with the diced mozzarella pieces and some fresh green basil leaves

– enjoy

This recipe make a super easy weekday dish. It is done in under 20 minutes and tastes great. You can also double the ingredients to have enough leftovers for the next day.
