the weekend is finally here and although I am not feeling my best this week I am happy to have some free days ahead of us filled with plenty of stuff other than buying grcoeries and doing laundry.
Since I am sharing my last summer looks with you already (can´t wait ´til fall is here so excited for all the cute and cozy pieces) this dress had to be included cause it is so pretty. The color is absolutely gorgeous and the ruffles on the top make is so adorable. I got it from Zara the other monts and am not sure if it is still available but they have a ton of summer pieces on sale right now so if you are holding on to the season or going onto your summer vacation the next time I would definitely have a look at their site or stores.
I paired the green dress with a funny tasseled straw tote and other than that all nude accessories. I am usually not one to wear a lot of arm candy but for this ocassion it fit perfectly to stack different kinds of bracelets together.
Do you still want to read summer content or are you as excited for fall as I am ? I also started to get some fall decor today.
See you tomorrow for another round of “what I wear in real life”.
Fall is finally coming closer, you can literally feel it. The mornings are already cool and foggy and the heat waves seem to be gone. I know some of you love Summer and hold onto it as long as possible but I am personally very happy that we are almost into September. I just ordered my first batch of pumpkin candles this morning. Go pumpkin spice.
Since this look is such a easy and effortless t-shirt / denim combo I spiced it up with a handful of gorgeous accessories like
– the pearl studded mules – a huge trend since last year
– the flowery statement earrings – statement earrings seem to go nowhere and I have just ordered a bunch of them at a amazon – stay tuned for a round-up
– silk headband – hair accessories are also a huge trend this year – I have a blog post coming up next week about the most stylish piece and how to wear them
A belt would also be another super nice accessories but I wasn´t sure which one to wear so I left it.
Do you like to style up your casual pieces or really wear them in a casual way? I would love to know.
how´s it been the so far? I have to admit that I am very happy with nice weather but it doesn´t have to be necessarily hot. My favorite season is Fall cause the air has finally cooled down and freshened up and nature shows its beautifullest colors. I am gonna stick with that. But as long as it is hot we still have to go to work everyday (the fewest can take off the whole summer time) and sweat our butts off.
If you are lucky you have air-conditioning at your office. I work at a listed building which means I have few to no chances of getting an air condition ever. My husband has one at his office but one of his collegues is always freezing so they are only able to turn it on when he is out on appointments. Not the best either. But there is one thing you can do for yourself to brave the heat or maybe a bunch of options. Also while you are dressing for summer it shouldn´t mean you start dressing unappropriate for your work environment. Wearing less and shorter clothing doesn´t help much with staying cool.
How to dress for the Summer Heat
don´t go bare shouldered or with thin strappy tops (unless you are in a very creative space and people don´t mind)
make sure your skirts aren´t to short
dress in looser fitted pieces (you will sweat less when your body can breath between the fabric)
these are you key materials for summer – silk, chiffon, linen
wear sandals (if office appropriate and allowed)
pin up your hair (it helps not to overheat by having your neck free to breath)
shorts shouldn´t be showing off your buttocks
How is your work environment in the summer months ? Are you a lucky one with AC?
I am starting the new week with a vacation post from Lake Garda. I have taken so many different swimsuits with me but only came around wearing three of them cause some days it was just to hot to sit outside at the pool or the lake. I really didn´t want to get sunburned at all.
Since it is going to be the end of summer soon and vacation time is in its high some of my original pieces aren´t available anymore but I have linked the closest pieces I could find under every look.
I personally love to add all kinds of accessories to my swimsuits. A plain swimsuit can be totally fine but bringing it to the next level by adding trendy pieces like colorful sarongs, dramatic statement sunglasses and woven sunhats makes so much more fun. It may not be super parctical for going into the water but let´s be honest, the majority is not going to jump into the pool all the time or dive her way through.
Another thing I highly recommend is wearing a sarong or a kimono to the beach bar. Although it is a beach bar the people who come after you don´t want to seat on a chair were your sweaty butt has been a minute before. I wouln´t want it and I am sure most people wouldn´t too. For me this just belongs to etiquette.
Hoping your week starts well. I am super tired today and have to pick up several pieces in our garden after a huge storm hit us last night. Haven´t seen so many lightnings in a long time. To be honest it was a little frightening.
My Lake Garda Travel Diary is coming to the blog this week but if you are on the search for different travel content check out my travel tab here and to find out what we did in Verona or what we ate all week. Fall posts are hitting the blog very soon cause I have to honestly admit I am in kind of a summer rut. I don´t want to dress for the heat anymore and also I don´t want it to be hot anymore.
