The month of September and October have been a whirlwind outfitwise. I was wearing lots of Fall inspired outfits but we had two Summer vacations (one at the beginning of September and the other at the beginning of October) so my outfits are a little mixed but the last few weeks have been very fall-ish.
This has been the year of the years I have been waiting for so long – we were finally able to pull of the Addams Family family costume. Everyone has been a character from the strangest family on the planet. We even had little Victoria turn into Pubert, the baby which appeared in the second movie. She looked almost identical, it was the funniest thing. The two older girls dressed up as Wednesday and Pugsley and my husband and I of course as Gomez and Morticia. We even had Thing lend us a hand. 😉
Where I got everything for the Addams Family costumes
To be honest, family costumes can get quite expensive when you have to dress five people and while I like to spend money on clothes I am not the fondest of spending so much on things we probably wear once or twice in our life.
Most of the pieces are from Ali Express but I am sure you can get everything on amazon as well if you don´t have the time to wait about two weeks for your package. These are the pics I have taken as
Wednesdas Addams dress available on amazon / shop the wig here
The Wednesday costume we have is from a German discount store. I have ordered it online. In fact you would only need a black dress with the significant white collar and cuffs to achieve her look. The wig is from amazon.
Pugsley and Pubert Addams
I did not buy anything for these two cause can easily be recreated by you childs closet. I had a striped shirt and bike shorts (she refused to only wear bike shorts cause it was cold so we added black tights) and for the little pubert all gray and black things have been essentiel. The cute cardigan with spider print would have been so cool but to be honest it would have been a waste of money cause babies grow so quick and we head into Christmas season right after Halloween so it wouldn´t be worn anymore.
As we are entering the cooler temps of October (we had a pretty mild start the first two weeks with 20 degrees during the day) it gets a bit trickier to wear dresses without feeling cold but to be honest I am up for the challenge cause I still am not a huge fan of pants (at least not until I have lost the last pounds of baby weight).
Tights are a huge part of wearing dresses and skirts in German Fall and Winter seasons cause it will get quite cold so I´d say go and find a pair you really like and get a couple of them cause you will need them. My favorite pair of black tights (my most used color) is a 40 den opaque sheer black tight. And I always size up a size cause I can not stand a too tight pair of tights and also hate if they are too short and you feel like loosing them while walking.
Another piece of clothing you will dearly need are boots. Doesn´t matter if you want to have riding boots, lug boots or western boots (I just wouldn´t go with Uggs, cause they will look very bulky with midi or maxi dresses).
And last but not least you can never go wrong with some sort of cozy jacket like a vest or a cardigan.
We have now entered the most gorgeous period of Fall. The leaves have turned colors and are swirling through the air of lying on the ground ready to get thrown through the air. This is my favorite stage of Fall.
During this short period Fall´s most beautiful colors show up everywhere like a deep yellow, a burnt orange or a rich burgundy. I mean how gorgeous am I right?!
