it is here !!! Our wedding week is here and it is awesome. Our time management is pretty good and I am positive about eveything working out the way I wanted it to and most important – my dress fits!!!! 

So since we are (almost) in the middle of September I am sharing this (pre-) fall appropirate look on my blog today. I have worn it last week to dinner and liked it a lot. It isn´t a too warm outfit but looks like fall overall although the temperatures weren´t.

A buttoned skirt has come back in fashion about two years ago and since they where hard to get at the beginning you can now shop them in every color and material and lenght and I don´t mind that at all as I really like the style. I got this tan one (picutred above) and also a burgundy one and two denim ones, a dark knee-lenght version and a light mini version.

Adding a white button down (wow there are lots of buttons involvded today) immediately enhances a look and gives it a polished finish.

I also love nude accessoires which means shoes and bags which blend it pretty with the other colors.

Do you have any fall pieces you are dying over to wear but it still is too hot outside (damn you good weather)??

Tuesday two days ago marked the 4th of September which means we were celebrating my soon to be husband´s birthday. 


It was a special birthday, not the number, but the last one without a
„wife“. We are getting married next week and I am so looking forward to
it. Can´t wait to be married to this awesome man I love so much and
spend the rest of our lives together hopping from one adventure to
another or even sitting on the sofa watching one Netflix series after
another.


So
I am wishing him again a great year of 28 (we celebrated with
family and friends over at our house). He really enjoyed his party and had a great night.


I am quite sure by now you have recognized our party theme. I wanted to go with a Mexican Fiesta theme and have a tacco bar. A tacco bar is like a buffet but only is stocked with foods that go perfectly into and with your tacco.


I really love Mexican food and everyone else loved it too. The guacamole and the salsa was homemade by me (you can view the salsa recipe here and the guacamole contained avocado, garlic, cream cheese and salt and pepper). I also offered red peppers, green jalapenos, tomatoes, scallions, salad, corn, kidney beans, two kinds of cheese and chicken and minced meat spiced with tacco seasoning from Fuego. The tacco shells where from the same brand and totally fine. I got them from amazon with lots of other practical stuff like the tacco shell holder to present them properly and also a warmer with two oven dishes to keep the meat warm and enjoyable. 


For dessert I planned on making a fruit salad and of course Florian´s birthday cake. Also my mom made rum balls from the leftover dough. I used half a melon as fruit bowl which is always cool and guests love that. The rum balls fit perfectly on the etagere and looked so pretty in their colorful chocolate papers. For the birthday cake I had this cake as a model. It isn´t the same but wasn´t bad either and in the end I decided to go with cream cheese frosting rather than with fondant. I added the wooden number to the cake which gave it extra stability and little sugar cacti.

Most of the party supply I am using is from Pink Dots Party Store or from amazon. The variety can not be found anywhere else.

There are so many themes to choose from and I think I have some pretty good ideas for a Halloween party. Stay tuned.

 velvet is one of my most favorite materials and I am so happy it came back in fashion last year. I am totally drawn to each and every piece which makes fall and winter even more comfortable. The weather is really fall-ish over here. Fog and cold clear air in the mornings and evenings which makes we want to light as many candles as possible and cuddle up on the sofa all the time (already stocked up on candles and thinking about pumpkin recipes I want to bake – not crazy, just going with the flow).

I have worn this beautiful velvet kimono once in the summer but the material is just too thick to enjoy it but it is going to be perfect for the cooler temps now. I think it is also great to wear with longsleeve and belted to set some focus on the waist. Gotta try that tomorrow.
Also a Kimono with a colorful flower print can is so versatile. You can pair it with another color from the pattern the next time you wear it and you get a total different look out of it.

it is the night after Florian´s birthday party. And although guests where leaving early cause everyone has to go to work today I am feeling whacked. After one day of preparation and one day of cooking (although I had two helpers) my back hurts so so much and also my feet. But I do love him so much and seeing how happy he was to have all his family and friends gathered around for his birthday was rewarding enough and almost makes me forget my pain.

But let´s have a closer look at my outfit. I means who doesn´t love a gorg ruffle detailing?

I paired this shirt (got it about 7 years ago in Brazil) with a dark blue pencil skirt from H&M. I really love their skirts and if it would be possible I would get them all. They are always on point. Fit great and the styles and patterns are adorable.
 Since I wanted the style of this look to be chic but a little bit on the edgy side I paired it with a distressed denim jacket. I just love a good denim jackets and I have quite the variety. A formal denim blazer jacket, a regular middle blue one, one with sequins all over, a distressed one and of course a 90´s oversized one. You get my point right? If nothing fits wear a denim jacket.

To round up the look I opted for a pair of block heel sandals in the same color range like the top and a handbag in the color of the jacket to not involve to many different colors. If you want to add depth to your look just change the hues from one color from lighter to darker before you opt for a total different color.

Hope you are having a nice week so far. I am going to clean up what´s left of the party mess today and otherwise I just want to sit on the sofa and watch Netflix.
