Modern Christmas Dinner Table Scape in Pink, Black + Gold…

….

Hello friends,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
are you making progress in your Christmas preparations? I definitely do. After decking the halls and wrapping all of the presents and visiting several advent markets I have finally tackled our dinner table. Like every year our families come together on the 25th of December for a Christmas dinner I am hosting.
I have a different table scape every season (it usually matches the color I have decorated my tree) and this year I only made a little change. I wanted the table scape to be black, gold and pink like the ornaments on the tree but (I recently discovered this) the gold on the ornaments is silver – oh boy. Since I already had all the pieces I needed and didn´t want to get everything gold in silver I just went with the gold.
Here is a picture I took as inspiration:

So I got a black tablecloth and started to decorate. The black and white place mats where the hardest to find (or at least I thought so) but since Ikea has a lot of different ones I decided to have a look at their site and voila they went straight into my cart. I really thought this is going to take ages to find similar ones but these are very similar.

I decided to go with white plates rather than black ones and I also didn´t have any black so since I already got everything I also didn´t want to get out again to get new plates. The pink cotton napkins are from amazon and they are great. A super soft and well made material and the color is so pretty.
The water glasses are H&M and I am using these over and over again also for our Thanksgiving dinner (view the post here). They are at a great price point and look great.
For a festive touch I added these little pink rose arrangements to the table and also the glittery champagne bottle ornaments and brass candlesticks with the rose pink candles.

It isn´t a typical Christmas dinner table in the traditional way but it is in no way less festive. I am probably gonna have red all over next year cause at some point I miss the traditional colors.

By adding the Freixenet bottles (by the way my favorite bubbly drink) I wanted to make sure that everyone can handle the aperitif situation as they like. I always have some folks who don´t like the bubbly at all.

Since I am serving a menu there is no need for several matching dishes to place the food on the table. The only thing I forgot in the pictures is my water carafe with the golden rim.

Do you have planned your table scape already and what are your colors this year? Or maybe I have given you just as much inspo that you setting it up like this?

As always thanks for stopping by and check back every day this week for lots of Christmas themed posts.

10 Days of Christmas Giveaways – Day 5 – Hot Chocolate Station + Anthropologie mug…

sweater H&M / skirt old similar here and here / pumps H&M / lips NYX Perfet Red and Liner Spicy

….
Good morning you all,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
who doesn´t love a cup of hot chocolate am I right??
There is almost nothing better for the cold and frosty Christmas/winter time than a hot cup of cocoa with a little whip of heavy cream, marshmallows and some colorful sprinkles (definitely no diet drink).

I for myself love a big cup of white hot chocolate over a dark at any time. So for our hot chocolate at home we don´t use powder, we melt real chocolate chips and stir them into hot milk. Afterwards you can add whatever you like.

Ingredients:
– white chocolate chips (I get them in small batches from amazon)
– oat milk (you can use any milk you like)

– heavy cream
– mini marshmallows
– Christmas sprinkles

Enjoying your hot chocolate at home just screams something so cozy and comfortable. I wish I could do this everyday but work and calories cross my way. But why not invite your bestie to a cup of hot chocolate and a cheesy Christmas movie. This would be such a nice gesture and also a lot of fun.

Since I have found this Anthropologie mug with my monogram during our London trip last year I have used it quite over a hundred times. This is the perfect addition to your cupboard to have coffee, tea or hot chocolate with. That is why I am giving away one Anthropologie mug to one happy reader. Since mine isn´t available anymore I am giving away one of these beautiful tile inspired mugs with your personal monogram.

Be sure to enter the giveaway below and also add which monogram you would like to have.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck.

10 Days of Christmas Giveaways – Day 3 – Our Christmas Decoration – closed…

….

Hello guys,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links und Markennennung-not sponsored)

and happy Monday. I know I know Monday´s aren´t usually our favorite days but I have a little something to sweeten up your day.

And I might say this every year but our Christmas decor has never been prettier than this year. I have tried some different things and also decorated a few more areas than last year and in my opinion it turned out even more beautiful than I thought. I am going to break it down room by room so it will be easier to follow.

Family room:
Of course our family room is the most used place in the whole house so this is where most of the magic happens. I do have a different color theme every year and usually I am not straying far aside from the classics but I have gone wild this year and went with a totally fashionable Christmas tree in pink and black. Yes you hear that right but if you are a regular reader you already read my Christmas tree decoration post last week and are no further surprised.

Anther corner in our family room I enjoy decorating is our coffee table / tv area. We do have quite the space to put lots of decor so why not use it for the most wonderful time of the year. I went with the lighter pink version of the ornaments and created a little winter wood theme. With lots of different trees and deers. The gingham table runner is one of my favorites for this year since it has my most favorite pattern but also includes a Christmas embroidery on both sides. I also always keep our  advent wreath with the candles on our coffee table. Evey Sunday starting the 2nd of December there is going to be lit one candle and after the 4th Christmas is here.

Kitchen:
I haven´t had this much decor in our kitchen the years before. I always decorated the windowsill with lots of Christmas decor and candles but that was pretty it. This year I added christmassy kitchen towels and a bunch of poinsettias to my kitchen. I also reused the branches with berries and the red ribbons from two years ago for our bar stools. Absolutely love how our kitchen turned out and since most of our kitchen appliances are red I went with the classic Christmas Red pieces all over.

Entryway:
The entryway wasn´t such a welcoming space when we moved in but after some time and a lot of furniture changes it became really welcoming so since all of our guests will at first be in the entryway I decided to create a warm and welcoming space and what better could be for it than a candle. A candle, not only with its enjoyable light, but also with its smell is the perfect addition to any entryway. You can choose the scent you like your house to smell and even when you are not lighting it, it is a pretty piece of decoration. I personally love Yankee Candles. They are my favorite and they have the best scents for Christmastime. So for today´s giveaway I am giving away one large jar from Yankee Candle in the scent Holiday Sage. This is my favorite holiday scent ever and I hope it is going to be yours too very soon.

Another great addition to your entryway (if you are living in a house) is a handrail wrapped with garlands. I got mine about three weeks ago and his was probably the most work on decorating. I incorporated string lights and little ornaments and also got single red glass elements to add to the garlands.

I was thinking about decorating our bedroom too but ended up ditching that idea since we are only up there for sleeping and it wouldn´t be worth the work and the money either.

Have you already decorated your home for Christmas? I would love to hear more about it and be sure to enter my giveaway below. It is open until the 10th of December.

How I decorated our Christmas tree + tips for a versatile decor…

….

Hello my Christmas loving friends,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
my tree has been up for about two weeks now (usually I didn´t want to set it up before the last week of November but I just can´help it) and I am loving it more every second I look at it.

We went a little aside from traditional this year and got a fashionable tree including pink, blush and black ornaments. To be honest I had most of the ornametns for years now and didn´t like them against the backdrop of a complete green tree cause the black got really lost but now we have a flocked white tree which make it stand right out and look so beautiful.

Since I love to decorate with different ornaments and also got a whole bunch of different ones I am breaking it down below for you.

Classic ornaments:
The pink, blush and black ornaments are our classic shaped ornaments on the tree. I got them in a medium and large size to mix and match as I like. I like different size ornaments a lot, also matte and glossy are great to get add texture and deepth to your tree.

Funny ornaments:
I consider a dougnut or a pink flamingo with a hat as a funny ornament. They really make the tree look special. We also had some funny ornaments last year like a soccer ball, some owls and a pair of silver high heels.

Monogrammed ornaments:
I actually stumbled across these as I was on the search for some pink ornaments and immediately loved them. Who wouldn´t want to have a monogrammed ornament on his tree. Never seen them in one of my favorite store before but so pretty. I also love the retro font of the letter and the bow on top of it. Got them from Nanu Nana (only in stores).

Garlands:
I decided to to with a black garland rather than a pink one because first of all I could´t find the matching shade and second of all I didn´t wanted to create a pink overload so I went with this dark grey/black metallic shimmery garland. I cut it into short pieces to drape it around several branches. In my opinion I think it turned out very nice and is another way to decorate your tree.
Ribbons:
I didn´t do any ribbons this year. First of all I couldn´t find any I liked or matched the color theme and second of all I was pretty satisfied with my metallic shining garland. But I had silver ribbons on last years tree and no garlands so I guess the fun lies in the difference (view the post here).

Overal I think unusual and various ornaments are the key to set oneself apart from other trees. It doesn´t matter if you have a color theme or just decorate with ornaments you got over the years or all the favorites you found in a store. In the end it only counts if you love your tree and it makes your home feel cozy and festive.

Do you have a color theme to decorate with or do you mix and match as you like?
I would love to know.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.
