A look back at 2018 – my most read posts and more…

….
Good morning friends,
hopefully you are fit again after NYE and ready to start the new year. I am not sharing any resolutions but I wanted to share a quick look back on the last year. Favorite looks, what we did, what happended and overall my most liked and read post.
Comfortable winter day                            Streetstyle winter – neutral and chic in brown

January

My birthday is on the 15th of January so usually it is super cold and snowy and just the right weather to be bundled up inside but we decided to spend a few days in Vienna, Austria to celebrate.

Our trip to Vienna was great. The city is beautiful even in the grey winter months. So much culture and history and restaurants.
February
I personally love Valentine´s Day. I know it isn´t a real holiday and I also know that you should cherrish your loved ones year round and not only on one day but I think there aren´t any cuter or sparklier red and pink things year round so I love this day. And isn´t it always nice to spend time with someone you love.

Maritime Vibes                            Easter Candy Baskets

March
Started to plan our wedding and finalizing on important details like the dress, the suit and our shoes as well as the flowers and our invitations. This has been the most productive month in terms of wedding planning.
April
Celebrating Easter with a huge family brunch in the color of the year of 2018 and hoping that Spring would come soon. There have been a few warm days but nothing temporary.

Living room reveal                    Our engagement photos

May
We took our engagement photos in May. I know this was be a little late but I totally wanted to have beautiful weather and flowers in the pictures.

Finally remodeled the guest room. I turned it from a sad box room into a fashionably guest room. So happy how it turned out in the end.

Fixed on from finally finishing the guest room I decided it is also time for a little living room do-over.

Pink Flamingo                                                     Ruffle shirt and apricot lace midi skirt

June
We went to Lake Garda in June and it was the best time I have ever travelled to. No crowds at all. A seat in every front row at the lake restaurants and no long lines. Since we have been to Lake Garda a few times now we decided to spend on day in Milan. The architecture and history was so amazing we where amazed for days.
July
My bridal brunch took place in July and it was a really nice morning spent with all the invited girls, chatting, getting to know each other and overall looking forward to the big day.

August
My bridesmaids and I packed up for a fun and relaxing weekend in Marienbad, a small spa town in the Czech Republic. We talked so much and had so much fun. I really want to to this all over again.

September
For Florian´s birthday I decided to make a do-it-yourself tacco bar and it was a hit. Everyone loved it.

And of course one week later the big day has arrived. Our wedding day. It was the most beautiful day I have ever had so far and got to spend it with the love of my life.
A few days after our marriage we flew to Santa Ponsa, a small town on the island of Mallorca.

Oktober
Bunte Beauty Days with my SIL and I made the most hyped recipe I have seen in quite a while – pumpkin chocolate chip cookies (which are delicious by the way).

//

November
Made my first ever Thanksgiving dinner and it was a total hit. Absolutely loved my table scape, my favorite of the whole year.

//

December
So many celebrations going on around Christmas time. We celebrated the start of the holiday season with our closest friends and I also cooked for our annual Christmas party on the second holiday.

NYE was spent with a bunch of our friends playing a crime dinner. This was really really funny and definitely worth a try.

Hope you enjoyed it. I tried to keep it really short as there are so many “Year in Review” posts out there and I als get annoyed at some point.

Casual Sunday #36 and our day at the Bunte Beauty Days in Munich….

….

Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
I has been quite a while since a little update around here (besides my usual posts) so today´s will be a little longer – which means get yourself a hot cup of delicious smelling coffee first – as there is a lot to tell but first of all “Happy Saturday”.

Watching:
Since I am in total Christmas mood, almost done with decorating the house, I am of course watching Christmas movies already. I can only use watch Netflix (wanted to subscribe to the Hallmark Channel but it isn´t available in my area – really sad day) so since there aren´t as many movies available for Christmas I have only seen Christmas with the Kranks and Christmas with a View and I am definitely going to watch The Spirit of Christmas again.

Eating:

I have to admit we do not eat out as much as we used too and I don´t know exactly why because it is not about the money and also not that we don´t like the food that restaurants offer anymore. I guess it is just because we are getting cozy in the colder months and also love to enjoy a homecooked meal.

But on Halloween we went out on a date night (hadn´t been on one since our honeymoon in September) and reserved a place at our favorite Indian restaurant in the city called Taj Mahal. It is super old. My mum has eaten there when she was young so I think they might be in business at least 30 years from now. We always eat the same dish number 65 called Murgh Masala – chicken with fragrant rice and a sauce so delicious and a little spicy. We also order a nan – an Indian flatbread – to make sure there is no drop of sauce wasted.

Last week we also headed out to another restaurant we love with my SIL and her boyfriend – the Beach House. They have Californian kitchen and such a fashionale and modern place. We also love the open cooking space cause the food smells so good. I always have the chicken caesar salad with sweet potatoe fries and guacamole and Florian mostly eats a burger cause they are so juicy and tasty.

Cooking:
I made these spinach-ricotta-feta filled pancakes the other day and we where positively surprised cause they tasted really great. Definietly gonna make them again.

I also tried the most baked recipe on the Internet – the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. If I liked it and how it went is to find in Friday´s post

Also still trying to find the perfect turkey gravy for Thanksgiving and time is running out so if you have any suggestions please tell me.

Eventing:
My SIL and I attended the Bunte Beauty Days in Munich two weeks ago and had a total blast. It was a trade show all about beauty, how to prevent aging of  your skin, you could get all dolled up with a new makeup look or sit and listen to presentations and also have a look at the newest products which weren´t store at that time. They had the new Dyson hair tools and lots of Arabian cosmetic brands. We made lots of pictures and great memories and overall had a really great day there. It is an annual trade show which takes place in Munich every year.

Shopping:
Since I am planning on repainting and remodelling our bedroom at the beginning of next year I am already looking for some new decor pieces and H&M Home never disappoints. I have found so many beautiful things in their online shops for every room in our house.
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1541403985912?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
Also already started Christmas shopping. Only need a few more things but I am gonna wait on the Black Friday deals for that (post follows).

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

My top 6 shoe trends for Spring…

Hi guys,

(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)

talking trend shoes for Spring today. Hopefully it is not to late but I could not have written about it earlier cause there was still snow about two weeks ago.

I am breaking it down into different categories so that it becomes easier for you to view the different styles.

The Mules:
Probably the most trendy shoe of the year. There are thousand of variations but I always like to stick with the classic look which came out first. The first pair of mules I officially noticed where the Gucci ones with the horsebit on the front and the fur in the back. I wasn´t aversed but also didn´t love them.
Few month later I totally love mules and have a few more to come. They are an easy shoe just slip them on and go. Also they are available in every color you could ask for. I went for a metallic shade cause I think that is really cool and silver also works with a lot of other colors.

The color of the year:
You should probably own a pair of shoes in the Pantone color of the year 2018. Also if you are not a purple admirer or never would wear that color as a dress or a shirt I would definitely recommend a pair of purple heels or sandals. Great to go with the trend, great to set a statment but not too much to feel intimidated. Mine are from Call it Spring and I only found the black version online but I would recommend this pair since it is pretty but temperate.

The block heel strappy sandal or the blogger´s heel – as I like to call it:
There isn´t a single fashion blog from east to west where there isn´t at least one post with this kind of heel. And why not cause the style is really pretty, they are easy to walk in, the block heels is on trend. Look great whether your are combining them to pants or to a dress.

The colored pair:
A red pair of heels is a basic piece and the perfect investment. You can pimp almost every look with a red lip and a pair of red heels. I got this pair of block heels at H&M and love it. I have been wearing them in many posts already and they are definitely a statement color for Spring and Summer. Be sure to get a pair of red shoes if you are wearing lots of nudes or blacks cause red goes with so much.

Pattern No. 1 Gingham:
Number one pattern for Spring and Summer is still gingham – not even the flower print or stripes, but they are close – believe it or not. I am not mad a second about this fact and that is the reason why I got a pair of lace-up gingham flats for Spring. Black and white is an unbeatable color pairing. It works with almost everything. The pattern is trendy, the pointed toe with the bow on the top is adorable and the height is perfect to walk in the whole day.

The slipper:
Easy and effective. Wheather you get a sportive sneaker inspired pair of a classic one with some detailing and a small heel, they are very versatile.
You can put them on in a second and they are comfortable to walk in around. How about trying out the plaform sneaker trend with a slipper? Or are you more the classic and playful girl. Get a pair of bow slippers and a golden line for some day time glamour.

Have you already stepped up your shoe game? Which ones are your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Casual Saturday #25 and happy Easter….

….

Hi guys and happy Saturday,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
I am making it quick today since I am aleady up a long time and also ready for my second coffee, prepring for Easter which means making the cake. Setting the table. Doing the flower arrangements. Cleaning the house.

But while I am working you check what I got for our upcoming vacation (upcoming might be a little misleading since we aren´t away until the middle of June but I am so so looking forward guys).

I ordered two times at Asos this week.

First I wanted to get some flowers and combs for my hair since I can not decide which wedding hairstyle I want so maybe accessories clear things up a little bit.

I also ordered this colorful cardigan I have had on my wishlist the longest time. Since I have saw it the first time on Emily´s blog The Sweetest Thing I wanted it so badly and now I finally ordered it. The vibrant orange and pink is just the right combo for me. I also got this beautiful striped off-shoulder dress for summer and of course for vacation. I hope it fits. I sized up one size cause I wanted it to be a little longer.

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1522229448614?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);

The second order wasn´t planned at all. In fact I have been chasing this bag for weeks since I first saw it on Katelyn´s blog Lonestar Southern. I already gave up cause it has sold out twice during the last two weeks so I thought you don´t get a chance to order this. BUT on Tuesday I was looking for a beach or pool bag for our vacation and this one was also listed under this category. Available!! I immidiately put in into my shopping cart cause I couldn´t let this beauty go a third time.
Also found a super cute beach bag from South Beach in white and with a rose gold print.
This has to be fate am I right 🙂
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1522229448614?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
Another piece I have been looking for quite a while now is a Kimono. I really like the idea of a lightweight oversized and fully printed overlong jacket in awesome colors.
Ordered two but I don´t have them yet so I am telling you when I get them how they turned out.
But enough for the shopping cart situation right now.

This little update turned out longer than I wanted it to be.

Let´s have a look at my Easter and Spring week in the week in blog posts:

Monday – Eater table scape in Ultra Violett….
Tuesday – Perfect dress for Easter….
Wednesday – White Peplum button down and pops of red….
Thursday – DIY Easter favors – candy filled baskets….
Friday –  Food and Drinks – carrot cake recipe….

I am wishing you and your family a great Easter holiday.

Thanks for taking your time and stopping by. Take care. See you.
