my love for polka dots is very deep and has lasted for a long time. It is such a classic and feminine pattern and has been in fashion for decades and probably won´t go anywhere soon.
I have several pieces of polka dots and they are super versatile to combine whether for Summer or Winter. Also the pattern is print mixing friendly and likes to be paired with vibrant colors.
How to style the Polka Dot Dress
The dress I am wearing here is not only a polka dot but also a wrap dress that which makes it extra cool.
Shooting in the corn maze has also been so cool. I have never been to one but always wanted to go cause you see plenty of them in the US movies.
Styling the dress itself was super easy. I stayed within range with the colors I so I only added white and soft browns plus a straw hat to have that extra Summer flair.
A midi lenght has always been a favorite of mine cause it fits so well on many ocassions and also looks great on everyone. Flowy dresses for Summer are so important cause we want to look good but don´t sweat around the clock.
Summer is making it´s combeback but if I am honest I enjoyed the cooler nights and mornings a lot and it makes me think about Fall and how I am gonna decorate this year and all the things on my Fall bucket list I want to do with Emilia. *Swoon* 🙂
But I am going to share Fall content soon enough so we might as well get over with the last Summer dresses I have in store for you.
How to style “THE” Summer Dress
and also what makes a great Summer dress. Several boxes need to be checked in terms of owning it to be the perfect Summer dress.
It has to be airy, the material has to be flowy and thin, the colors should be beautifully bold Summer colors and so on. You should want to wear it as soon as the temperatures rise cause that means it is still comfy and appropriate no matter how high. Plus it should work for multiple ocassions so I can´t be too short.
So these a-line dresses have been everywhere for the last three months and I find them the epitome of the 2021 Summer dress. You can get similar options everywhere and I will link as many as I can find.
For styling I would say wear it as you like. I went all in on the pink – flats, bag and lipstick but white accessories would be just as pretty.
next week will be the last of the 31 Dresses of Summer series which means I am posting lots of different content again soon enough. For the not so fashion lovers stay tuned and for all of my fashionistas Fall fashion isn´t far away!!! It makes me giddy just writing this.
How to style the comfortable dress
OMG you guys this dress is the softest I have worn in a long time plus it has such a veratile color which literally matches with any other color you plan on wearing.
The dress has a fitted top with t-shirt sleeves and an a-line skirt. I personally love a dress made this way cause it always reminds me on the early Disney princesses.
These kind of dresses are so easy to style. I dressed it up for an “office environment” for this shot. A tweed blazer never fails you when it comes to business. It sets the right mood immediately. Also I put on a pair of beautiful gray sling pumps (which by the way got destroyed during the shoot and I had to throw them away) and a big bamboo handle bad in the blue of the tweed blazer. The shopper or tote bags are definitely my cup of tea cause they fit all I need and more.
I hope you had an amazing weekend so far with sleeping in, a delicious breakfast and lots of family time. We had a pretty slow day yesterday cause Emilia took a two hour nap which is very unusual but I think she is still recovering form her fever she had this week.
Summer also made a break so there isn´t much to do. I have planned some cool day trips for next week but shied away going this weekend cause it is always a lot more crowded.
How to style the Tie-Dye Dress
First of all I know that some of you already have enough of the tie-dye trend but I am still loving it. Never stopped and if I am honest probably won´t ever stop cause it quickly became one of my favorite patterns and I buy whatever I get with tie-dye.
So for the dress. It has a beautifully nude/apricot color I absolutely adore which also works great with my hair color. If it was a normal Summer this year I would totally ditch the linen blazer cause of the hot weather but right now there is absolutely no reason to get rid of it plus it looks amazing thrown casually over the shoulders.
For accessories there are really no limits. The tie-dye print is really on the subtle side so you can go all in with lots of necklace layering and statement earrings or not. Just how you like it. I went with a pair of super cute tassel earrings I got from amazon last year and a stack of bracelets in the same color.
My shoe choices in the summer months are definitely more laid back (and flatter) than any other season of the year. It is just too hot outside to wear heels and I am also mostly in the garden so yes flats it is.
We are spending the rest of the evening watching TV as it is still raining outside. See you tomorrow.
