Another week with sick toddlers has come and gone and to be honest I can not take another sickness in the next few weeks. This has to stop. There is also so much else going on these days that I just can not take any delays to our schedule.

On the bright side Valentine´s Day is just around the corner and I have finished the girls love baskets. This might be my favorite year with all the cute pink things I put into the baskets. You can watch my reel here and find out what I got them. The shops in Germany have a much bigger selection nowadays than a few years back. You almost couldn´t find a thing for Valentine´s. It was really hard.

Meals

MONDAY – German schnitzel and oven roasted potatoes

TUESDAY – can not remember at all

WEDNESDAY – Chinese take-out  – Thai curry with chicken is my preferred meal. I love the sticky rice, the crispy chicken and the spicy sauce.

THURSDAY – Leftovers

FRIDAY – Omelett is one of our go-tos when it comes to cook all the leftover ingredients from the fridge. It is just so easy to chop up all the foods and throw it in the pan with some eggs.

SATURDAY – Pasta Bolognese is my number one pasta dish. I love everything about it and the girls like it too. They usually do not eat any sauce but make an exception for this. It is also easy to prepare for the next day or cook a huge batch to freeze.

SUNDAY – Homemade pizza is a favorite in our home. The girls love to help and add a topping of their liking. At least they also eat it when they have helped.

Fashion

Still no signs that it will be Spring any time soon. At least not temperature wise. The sun is shining and plants start to blossom but it is still freezing cold.

Activities

It is still to cold to do a lot of things outside or even stay out a long time but we ventured to our nearby playground on Monday cause at some point you just can´t take it anymore being cooped up in the house all weekend. After 15 minutes we went back home cause everyone was freezing. Took me about 20 minutes to get us all four out the door. I´d say you win some and you loose some.

I had my car in the shop on Tuesday so I went to a nearby shopping centre while I waited and enjoyed a hot coffee and panini in total silence. Little miss was sleeping in the stroller and I had a total half an hour to myself.

On Saturday we went to a children´s festival at our nearby hospital. It was a great opportunity to show the girls that they shouldn´t be afraid of a hospital at all and that there are many things to see and learn. They had a booth with face painting for children and my girl finally got her cat face she wanted all along. Another very cool thing I have been anxious to see were the Star Wars actors and they did not disappoint.

Misc

My grandma hasn´t left the hospital in weeks and since last week we have finally found a place in a nursing home for her so we started to clean out her appartment cause she is moving next week and can´t take anything with her other than her clothes and a handful of personal items. This really got me thinking about this kind of situation a lot and also made me really sad. You collect and add things to your home your whole life but when it comes down to the end there isn´t a thing left of you. People come and throw everything you have ever owned away and that´s it.

Yesterday my MIL turned 60 and we have a huge surprise planned for her gift. Can´t wait until she is back from vacation so we can gift it to her and see what she thinks.

Quote of the Week

„There is always a light at the end of the tunnel“ – this is very fitting for our never ending sickness at home
