My Third Trimester with Baby #2…

FYI: I prepared this blog post before our baby girl arrived so there would still be fresh content on the blog while I am taking a break from blogging. That’s why you’ll still see me pregnant or referencing my pregnancy in some upcoming blog posts!

The third trimester is finally over which means our sweet girl is here and we are in absolute baby bliss but nevertheless I wanted to recap my last trimester with you.

It is definitely right what the doctors say, the second pregnancy is definitely harder. I had many many things I haven´t had the first time around. It was very exhausting but in my opinion it was way shorter.

Did I have any new symptoms ?

I pretty much had the same symptoms than with Emilia like the heart burn and the back pain but this time paired with sharp pain in my pelvis and carpal tunnel syndrome which means my finger fell asleep all the time and my hands hurt very bad in the morning to the point were I couldn´t even open something. Also the gestational diabetes was back but this has not been a surprise since I was warned the first time around that this will probably happen.

Did I pack differently this time around ?

Yes, I have definitely packed different things in my hospital bag but this will be a seperate post. Also I am a chronic overpacker so I might have packed other items but not less in my opinion 🙂

Is it different going into labor the second time around?

I would say yes it is different because you know what happens but what you won´t know is, if it is the same experience. Not two deliveries are the same so I was very anxious this time around for several reasons. I was told the head was pretty big so my fear of her getting stuck and not getting enough oxygen came back big time. Also I totally wanted an epidural this time cause it definitely hurts bad and I was too proud to ask for one the first time around until it was too late and I had to through with it unmedicated.

Did I have any aversions or cravings the last few weeks?

Not that I can think of. I craved apples very bad when pregnant with Emilia and also tuna salad but not this time around.

Did I sleep better this time around?

Yes and no. There was no insomnia this time around but I had to get up during the night and look after Emilia if she needed something and I had very bad restless legs so I could not sleep well most of the time.

Was it more exhausting the second time because I am older now?

I don´t think it was because I am older now but because I have a toddler now who is very active and wants to play the whole time. I went to nap with her almost every day for about one to two hours and it was glorious. The fatiuge didn´t came back in the third trimester like I had it in my first but I definitely had days were I was more tired than others. Overall it is a huge effort for your body to grow a human and if you are tired more often than you wish to be give yourself some grace as this too shall pass.

Did I get any new things for the baby?

A few. They are both born in different season so the newborn clothes definitely look a little different. I also got new burp clothes cause I found some I absolutely love, a few monogrammed things and also some add-ons for our Bugaboo. Other than that just some things for the girl´s shared nursery.

Staying active during my pregnancy has been on top of the list the second time around cause I had a hard first birth and heard and read that excercise and staying active can help tremendous with labor and delivery so I wanted to give it a try. I definitely didn´t reach my goal but I can say that I was way more active this time – maybe also because I have a very busy toddler home with me all day. Plus I had a very short labor and smooth delivery.

So for Christmas I wished for a fitness tracker and I got the FitBit Versa in rosegold. It is so much more than that but first things first.

I mainly use it as a step counter and a watch but there are many other features you can use. It can be synced with your Spotify account and you can also pay with it. You can track your heart rate, your work outs, your food and for example blood sugar and calories. It can totally be personalized to your needs and wants. There are also thousands of different screen savers available. Also if you want even more features you can subscribe to the premium version.

The premium version holds even more features like personal evaluations, sleep analysis and also about a 150 different work-outs for you to try. It is nine euros a months but you can use the 90 days free trial period to get used to it and decide if you want to keep it.

As far as the fashion choice goes, , if you don´t like the rubber band – it get´s pretty sweaty under there – you can easily get others to switch it out. Amazon and also etsy offer thousands of different pieces. I got a pack of 4 with elastics and also one made of leather.

My top 5 items to wear when pregnant and where to shop for maternity pieces…

Finding cute maternity fashion isn´t as hard as it used to be but still not exactly what we are looking for. There are a few key pieces that in my opinon have be to a maternity piece but other than that there are numerous options out there which you can choose from normal clothes.

I am rounding up lots of outfits I loved to wear while pregnant and also what pieces were the easiest to get and wear. I have 5 items that work for every pregnancy not matter the season.

Top five items to wear when pregnant…

A-Line Dress

Leggings and oversized t-shirt

Bodycon dress

Knitwear

Kimono

….as far as shops go I love to shop at

H&M – they have a maternity section but thanks to all of the oversized trends you can easily shop shirts, sweaters, knit skirts and dresses without a problem. Just size up (but in most of the cases even this isn´t necessary). These are also the only maternity jeans I buy.

Asos – also offers a huge maternity section. It is a littel difficult to shop the maternity pieces cause some are true to your pre-pregnancy size and some run a little small. I had a hard time finding a wedding guest dress because of the sizing but in the end everything was fine also the Asos customer service is the absolute worst !!

Mango / Zara – I love getting all the flowy dresses / or knit dresses in the Winter (depends on the season) from here. Always have great offers and you can wear the pieces after your pregnancy as well.

Amazon – I got some cute dresses, my breastfeeding bras and my going home outfit from amazon as well as many things for my hospital bag.

I know that that these might not be the shops you were looking for but to be honest they are everywhere on the planet and I can share as much pieces as possible with you. Also it´s still about affordable fashion even more when it comes to maternity pieces cause you won´t need / wear these as much / frequent as normal sized items.

I subscribed to Estrid – a Razor Subscription and here is what I think..

….

FYI: I prepared this blog post before our baby girl arrived so there would still be fresh content on the blog while I am taking a break from blogging. That’s why you’ll still see me pregnant or referencing my pregnancy in some upcoming blog posts!

….

Hello ladies,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

a few weeks back I finally gave in and subscribed to Estrid, a razor subscription service, after I saw an Instagram add. I have been curious for a while about it after seeing so many posts and opinons about Billie and Athena so I decided to go with it.

The starter kit arrived with my razor, two blades, a holder for the shower and a travel case I purchased seperately. The holder is super convenient cause I always hated my razor sticking to eveything else in the shower after it dried. There are 6 beautiful colors to choose from, I went with the matcha hue, a gorgeous pastell green. Not that the color matters for function but it is nice to have a pretty looking tool when you use it this often.

Shipping was pretty fast and free. I payed 16,95 Euro for all the things I listed above and am very happy. You can choose from different subscription models. I went with two new blades every two month for 9,95 Euro and think that it is a very good price point.

I have used the Venus Gilette razor my whole life and decided it was time for a change cause I was not satisfied with it anymore. I have come to the sad realization that many things I have used since I was a teenager have gotten bad or even worse in quality over time so I had to look for new products.

What I think about the Estrid Razor…

After using it for the first time I was very impressed with how smooth my legs have been. I did not get razor burn (which has always been an issue for me) and I also didn´t cut myself. It stayed like this after every shave so naturally I never looked back.

One razor blade lasts about 4 to 6 weeks with me shaving every third or fourth day. Somehow my legs stay longer smooth with this razor and I am very very pleased with the outcome because I hate shaving.

I am definitely going to use their service as long as they are in business which hopefully will be a long long time. If you are intrigued just try it, there is not much too loose and you can cancel anytime.

This is an honest review and I am not sponsored in any way. Just a very pregnant and happy girl over here loving her new razor cause it reduces the amount of shaves.
