To be honest May hasn´t been the month I thought it would be. We have been cooped up inside way longer than I anticipated this year and it was hard. At some point I just had no more ideas for indoor activities and it was time to get out of the house and play outside but rainy and cold weather did not make this possible. 

This really affected my mood and I have not been making much outfit pics this week or even cooked a lot. I was mostly thrown together stuff as well as noodles almost everyday.

Butter Yellow Summer Shirt ….

I am quickly writing to you from our vaction home cause I wanted to share this adorable shirt I have gotten a few weeks ago before it is sold out. 

The Butter Yellow trend color has got me like nothing else. I have always loved yellow – bright for Summer styles and the mustard version for Fall but this hue is just as delicious as it´s trendy. 

You can find Butter Yellow pieces in every store and lots of different versions of clothes. I have collected quite the amount of pieces ´til yet and still love everyone I have gotten so far.

So let´s break down the outfit – the bootcut pants are from Halara. I have discovered this brand a few years back and I have loved this middle blue bootcut version of a jeans ever since. It is the softest most stretchy and comfortable material but also holds in your stomach so well. I call these my line dance pants cause I have worn these to several line dance festivities cause I do not like the sturdiness of normal jeans.

The shoes I am wearing are actually a few years old and a staple in my closet. The cream color fits so well with many outfits that these have become one of my favorite pairs to reach for in Spring and Summer.

Now let´s have a look at the laser-cut shirt which by the way is also available in crisp white and has matching pants as well. It´s from Only and under 40 Euro. It has a slight cropped, boxy fit and these beautiful laser-cut patterns. I just love this kind of pieces this year. It isn ´t lined so you will definitely see any kind of bra you are wearing underneath (which is fine with me) so I ´d choose a nude one. I have worn a white top under cause I do not like to feel naked and wearing a seethrough shirt (even if it is just through tiny holes) does this to me.

A very fashionable looked topped of with a straw tote and a sweater vest drapped over my shoulders.

This has been a week with very mixed feelings for myself. We had swimming lessons and fun in the water and a great mother´s day weekend but also a double funeral on Tuesday so there have been tons of ups and downs feeling wise.

Our weather is still very mixed. I was wearing a warm jacket at the funeral on Tuesday and a Summer dress on Sunday. The would be so hot already but the constant winds cool it down drastically.

 

MEALS

Cooking has not been on my mind so much this week. I just didn´t know what to make and also had less appetite so it was really hard to make up some meals.

 

FASHION 

I have found some amazing things at H&M and also at NKD lately. Definitely love Summer more and more each year. 

This set is gorgeous – linen and a neutral color, also pants are available in long and short. I have gotten this swim suit in green and red and it so soft and comfortable to wear. Also how adorable are all things lemon?!

 

ACTIVITIES

We have swimming lessons on Friday and dancing on Monday and other than that play groups on Tuesday and Thursday. This week we went out for brunch twice and we had a mother´s day coffee date on Sunday.

 

MISC

The woman who makes our playgroup has started a play afternoon for the kids from now until Summer break including coffee and cake for the moms and I just love it. I have been there today and it was so nice chatting away while the kids all play together. You´ll find me here on Tuesday afternoons until further notice.

Spring Christening Decor – Daisies and Yellow….

We had our baby´s christening in the middle of April and I finally have time to share the gorgeous decor and food with you. I love to throw parties with a theme and still have some up my sleeve. A Spring christening has been the perfect ocassion for a white and yellow color theme.

Color Theme

Since our christening was in the middle of April I thought a colorful and flowery Spring theme would be amazing. I choose daisies cause I have had the theme in the back of my mind for a birthday of the girls but it worked out great for our christening as well.

Decor

I had three things to decorate. The food table, the beverage station and the bar tables.

Let´s start with the easiest. We have used these bar tables for several ocassions over many many years. I got napkins to put on like a table cloth and little vases for the flowers.

The beverage station was all about the daisies. I have gotten these cute tulle fabrics with the daisy print and also daisy ballons to go with the theme. 

For the cake table I went all out. Of course it had to be a sequins table cloth and a huge ballon arch. I have done so many of these but I still love it. I had two hues of yellow and white. The vases are left from Helena´s christening and were filled to the brim with gorgeous flower arrangements. My MIL always make the flowers and she has a real talent for it. Looks so pretty every time. The cupcake etagere is one  of the coolest things I have gotten in years.

Flowers

My MIL makes all of our flower arrangements cause she does them so well. I get the flowers at a local store normally a day before. 

Food

Since our christening was at 11 in the morning and we also had lots of sweet food cause of the gorgeous delicious cake and the cupcakes I decided to make a charcuterie board and my MIL made some puff pastry finger food filled with salmon and some filled with bacon.

The cake has been a two-tier fondant covered cake. The top layer was chocolate and nut and the bottom layer has been raspberry and pistacchio. Both have been so delicious I couldn´t decide for a favorite. The cupcake frosting was passion fruit. 

 

Candle

I have gotten all three of our candles on etsy. I always match them the color theme so the girls have little hints to remember their special day. There are hundreds of different ones and always so hard to choose from.
