Let´s be honest who likes to dry their hair ? This is such an unnecessary task in my opinion so I often let it air dry and am very unhappy the next morning because it looks very frizzy and I feel like a scarecrow.
So about two years ago I found this hair dryer brush on amazon. That was the time when the Revlon one popped up everywhere but it was not available in Germany so I got this close one and I loved it ever since.
I divide my hair into sections and it dries pretty fast. Also another thing I wanted to admit is that I still only dry my hair if I don´t have time to curl it the next day but it is now less of a chore for me.
Everyone is busy prepping for Christmas this week and not only the homes but also ourselves. I love to really dress up for Christmas. All sequins and bows cause why not?! The year is boring enough already so let´s get dolled up on a few days at least.
I wanted to share three hair styles with you today you can easily prepare and wear for the upcoming Christmas festivities.
Pearly Headband and Low Bun
This is probably the easiest and quickest of all three hairstyles I always find myself to long for when I have washed my hair and don´t want to curl or straighten it. All I am doing is to comb my hair and part it in the middle. Then I make a low bun and spray down any hair that´s left somewhere and then I add my headband and cute matching earrings. This is only taking about 5 minutes.
Clip-in hair bow
If you want to add some color and playfullness to your look I would recommend adding a big bow to your hair. If you want to get as much volume as possible I would say curl your hair first like I did and then comb it over your head after letting the curls cool down. This will give you a ton of volume. Now tease the top of your hair and fixate it with volume spray. I use the Syoss Volume Spray that also doubles as a hairspray. Then gather some strands and clip in the bow in the middle of the back of your head. This might need a buch of attempts if you want it to look perfect but it gets better quickly the more often you try.
Sparkly Rhinestone Hair Clip
If your hair is already curled (or however you like it) I would just touch it up with some root spray or volume spray and tease the hair on the back of your head a little. After that choose a side for a side part. I always use the same side cause I think it is the most flattering to part it to the right. Then I refresh my curls and add the sparkliest rhinestone clips I can find. Mine are super old and from Zara but I don´t use them very often so I love to re-use them. Such a classic look inspired by the old and golden era of Hollywood.
I love testing out new trends whether it is fashion or beauty. It is just so amazingly interesting getting a new product and learn everything about it. So for today´s blog post our theme is hair styles to be more specific – how to crimp your hair.
Crimped hair has been all the rage about 15 years back and I did not see this coming back in style but I have to admit I like it more than I anticipated.
For prepping I have been using the ghd heat protection spray and to finish up my style I love the Elnett Professional Hairspray.
The hair crimper is from Rowenta and has three different settings for different sizes of curls. The heating goes up onto 240 ° C degrees. It is under 40 Euro and I think the price is great for the product.
It is a huge tool and I really had to get used to using it cause it is a little unhandy but after some practice it is quite managable.
How I crimp my hair
First of all I make different sections and apply my heat protecting spray. Afterwards I start with the lowest layers and crimp upwards. For crimping it is best to take thin streaks. It holds best this way and in my hair which is usually curly for about 4 to 5 days which is pretty great in my opinion.
It takes about 3o to 40 minutes to crimp my hair which is quite the long time but to be honest since my hairstyle holds this long I don´t mind. Also practice makes you faster. I haven´t used the crimper that often but have really gotten into it lately.
The most important step is to not comb it when you are done styling. Only use your fingers or it will get super frizzy and bushy. Combing works best from day 3 to the end on when you still have nice waves but your hair is heavier cause it isn´t as fresh anymore.
Are you styling your hair during quarantine time or do you wear it in a top knot or ponytail?
welcome back to my blog. It is New Years Eve tomorrow and if you are still searching for a big and beautiful hair style I got you covered. I love curls in my hair and they usually last me for days so it is also super convenient. Spending 15 minutes on my hair and it lasts for about 4 to 5 days but this hair style I am sharing today is a little more time consuming. It takes about 35 minutes just to curl the hairs, no cooling and styling time added.
But if you want extra volume and a hairstyle to impress I would say this is for you – go big or go home am I right 😉
I start with clean and dry hair. You can straighten it before curling if you want but I don´t think it is necessary.
I part my hair in different sections about 7 (it depends on how thick your hair is and apply heat potectant spray on every layer. I am using the curl hold spray from ghd. It is supposed to support your curls to last longer and also protects your hair from the heat. After combing my hair through I start curling my hair.
These are the hair clips I am using to hold every individual curl. I got them off of amazon. They are sold in sets of 50. I used about 65 for all of my curls.
For this style it is super important to curl really small sections of hair. About 1 cm thick but not more. That is why you have a ton of curls at the end. It also gives you the most volume. I am using the T3 Whirl Trio curling wand with the smallest barrel. I always hold my curling wand upside down and wrap my strand of hair away from the face. Hold if for about 10 seconds and as tight as possible.
Loosen the curl and let is slide down the wand. Then hold it until you can lay your wand aside.
Clip it immediately as long as it is hot and and don´t uncurl your strand of hair. It has to cool down first. Repeat the same for your whole head is what takes the most time but the more acurate you are working here the better the curls look and hold in the end.
That´s how it look after you are done curling. Let them set and cool for about 20 to 30 minutes. If you haven´t done your make-up before that is how I would use the time.
After removing all the hair clips this is what it looks like before combing through.
I didn´t use a comb or brush at all. I just used my finger to comb through my hair as the curls stay tighter like this. Also adding a volume spray or hairspray or a combined product like the one I got from bed head is a must. I keeps your curls in place while they are still looking bouncy and natural.
We are going out for an early dinner tomorrow and then head home straight after because Chloe is terriefied of the fireworks and I wouldn´t want to leave her at home alone. Also I am super tired in the evenings as the bump grows a lot these days so we are enjoying a low key New Years Eve.
Wishing everybody a great celebration and see you.
