Playroom Reveal…

Turning the office into the playroom has been one of the best decisions we have ever made here in our home. It has saved us so much chaos, stress and storage I still can not believe it. Our living room doesn´t have toys in it anymore and feels a lot cleaner. I don´t say that you shouldn´t see that there are living kids with us but I need some rooms without toys and clutter to keep my sanity.

The girl´s bedroom is also a lot cleaner and they go to bed way easier at night cause there are only books and some stuffed animals left.

Our Playroom

As far as painting and flooring goes I did not do much. The paint has been the same since I turned it into a home office (have a look at it here) and the floor has been in there since we moved in. I definitely love the dark and moody green walls mixed with a fresh white and a whimsical blush color. It creates such a magic like in a fairy garden. The room itself is pretty huge and very square so I decided to divide it into four different corners. This has not only helped with categorizing and playing but also with keeping it tidy. I have added two huge carpets and several little ones to support different play areas. Let´s start with the one back left.

The Reading Nook

This was one thing I always wanted for my two book loving girls – a cozy reading nook with a teepee, lots of pillows and blankets. Where they can take their favorite books and snuggle up and just „read“. To make it extra cozy I added a super soft sage green carpet and soft rainbow pillows. I took the little bookshelf we had in the living room to the playroom and also added floating shelves cause we just have so many books. Behind the teepee is a little hanging organizer which holds some small stuffed animals and to the left is the shelf that holds it all. From baby toys to playmobil to puzzles, games and everything else to keep kids entertained.

The Doll Corner

If you want to take a right you will find yourself in our doll corner which is like the name already gives away full of dolls. Here you can find another shelf which was very neccessary cause we have lots of different and small dolls which fit into a small basket. Our Gabby´s Dollhouse sits on a little table and all of the other dolls, strollers, doll beds and our stuffed animals trunk is on the floor on a pretty flower carpet and a soft lamb carpet as well.

The Art Area

To help split off the doll corner from our art area I have added another shelf from Ikea which holds huge boxes that are all filled with different toys like Playmobil 123, Duplo and Barbie dolls.

The little table is perfect for drawing or even for homework when the girl´s are a little older. Our art easel Emilia got for her second birthday fits great into the corner. The best thing about our art corner is the blackboard foil I have added onto a wodden board and glued it onto the wall. The girls love to draw on it with their chalk. This has been such a great addition to this place. On the right is our art cart (you can watch what is in it on here). Plus how cute is the little ABC carpet. It fits the theme perfectly.

Dress-Up Studio

We have now arrived in our last corner, the dress-up studio. I have aquired quite the collection of princess dresses over time and they fit the rod perfectly. To complete our studio I have added a blush mirror and a small kids sofa. The pink pearly crown on top of the mirror and sage royal carpet rounds-up this corner. It is in fact right by the door to enter the room but fits great into the corner.

To conceal the ugly back of the shelf I have added an additional wooden plate and covered it up with a gorgeous blush and sage fabric I have found on etsy. It makes it look a lot prettier and was super easy to do.

Now you have the full reveal of our playroom. I still can´t believe how cute it turned out and I love that the girl´s play there everyday with all of their favorite toys or make some „art“ to display. This has been a great idea and not even such a huge work load.

For the First Time In Four-Ever – Emilia´s Frozen Fourth Birthday Party…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate LInks-not sponsored)

I have finally come around to recap o little girl´s fourth birthday party. It was a really nice one and she has picked the theme all by herself. While it has been a mermaid birthday party for months she changed to Elsa last minute and I was not mad about it. There are oh so many things you can get for a Frozen inpsired kids birthday party. Made it super easy for me to put it together.

Color Theme

I would say that the color theme for a Frozen birthday party is pretty easy to choose – we used different shades of icy blue, silver and white. Some balloon kits also had purple but I wasn´t going to take these cause I wanted it to look as frosty as possible.

Our Cake

We had a pretty simple cake this time (at least shapewise). It had eight layers colorblocking blue from light to dark on the inside and was filled with vanilla buttercream inbetween. The outside also has been vanilla buttercream in the prettiest icy shades topped with silver and blue sprinkles and shiny fondant snowflakes. The figurines on top as well as the four was put on the cake by ourselves. I really loved this cake and Emilia was so smitten by it. It tasted great and everyone loved it (we always get the big theme cake for our family birthday celebration).

Decoration

As far as decoration goes I will always love a balloon arch. It is an easy and inexpensive way to add a real centerpiece to your party decor. Another thing i had been very proud of finding was the background. It has been a picutre out of the first Frozen movie. The place where they have found Olaf and everything was frozen really pretty. I have loved this as background. The perfect piece to round up the wall decor.

For table decor I had a silver velvet tablecloth to add some ice and snow flair and topped it with a sheer baby blue snow flake table runner. I really loved all the vibes it gave and how great it matched.

Kids Activities

In my opinion kids at this age are fairly easy to entertain cause they still like a lot of things and nothing is uncool. One thing that works great and is loved by everyone are tattoos. I have had them for our Halloween party and they where a huge hit. Another great activity is to choose some easy games and let them win stuff for some time. I have gotten sweets and small toys and the kids loved winning things.

Adult´s Table

I think this was the prettiest adult table I have made so far. It really looked like it was out of one of the many rooms from Arendale castle. I kept it pretty with candles, a table runner and a blue centerpiece with baby´s breath and added some snowflakes on the table as well as onto the lamps for a little extra.

Party Favors

I have loved our party favors this year. I have found tons of Elsa related party favors for the bags this year like pens with Anna and Elsa on them, snowflake hair clips, snowflake sticker, wristbands with Winter themes, a cool penguin game and of course bubbles.

Kids Table

I always get paper plates and plastic table cloth for the kids table cause when they are done eating I just throw everything away and have one less thing I don´t need to worry about cleaning. I was pretty lucky this time around cause I have found all the perfect table decor things with Anna and Elsa for a fraction of the cost at a local supermarket.

Very Berry Second Birthday Party…

…..

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

Somehow our little girl turned two this week. How can she be two ?? I remember the night she was born like it was yesterday holding her and looking into her wake and dark blue eyes. Time really is a thief.

She is a sassy and active little lady always on the go and having fun with everything she does. Her favorite food in the world are strawberries and what more fitting than throwing her a strawberry themed birthday party in June – the month of the strawberry.

Very Berry Second Birthday Party

I had a lot of fun planning this party. There are lots of cute things to get regarding this theme.

The Party Decor

I have gotten everything strawberry related I have found on the internet. Most of the pices are from Temu, SheIn and amazon. For the cake table I had a red sequin table cloth and a strawberry table runner. I have decorated it with golden candle holders holding red candles and a strawberry shaped vase I have stuffed with babies breath.

For the photo corner I had red fring curtains, a Happy Birthday garland and two gorgeous strawberry shaped lanterns hanging from the sealing.

The big balloon arch makes the real statement. There are two simple things that really elevate party decor and that are ballons and flowers. I got a kit including the dotted ballons and the strawberry shaped ballons but you could easily just get different plain colored ballons and mix and match together as you like.

The Cake

Our birthday cake is mostly a mix from 2 to 6 cakes I have seen on Pinterest. I pick out the features I like best and text it our awesome cake guy. He can make all my cake dreams come true.

The top layer has been a chocolate and caramel cake with buttercream on the outside and the bottom layer has been a vanilla sponge with strawberries and fondant on the outside.

I personally love a mixture of buttercream and fondant cause there is something for everyone.

The Table Decor

For our table I went with a classic white table cloth and of course a strawberry table runner on top. I had little strawberry confetti I have put around the runner and a big basket with flowers in the middle.

Kids Cap, Hat, Scarf and Glove Storage Solution and Organization…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not spnsored)

How on earth is there always a mess somewhere. I have days where I definitely wonder where the messes are coming from cause I am trying so hard to prevent them and I am nearly done with organizing the whole home!!!!

This cabinet has been an eyesore since I have moved all things in there but I was just too busy to come around organizing it until Emilia searched for a specific cap and I have thought we lost it but found it two weeks later.

In fact it is a very simple undertaking ticked of in under 15 minutes if you have everything you need.

I already had two of the wicker baskets and got another two at JYSK. They fit perfectly and are only 11 Euro each, hold a ton and have a handle to pull out.

The tags are an old amazon find I have used in the girl´s room earlier. I didn´t need them much longer so I got some black and writable stickers on amazon and reused them.

These are the tags and these are the sticker. Both are very affordable and hold up really well.

Here are the before and after pics:
