DIY – pompom tote….

there aren´t a lot of things I like to make by my own but as I have seen this super cute straw totes all over Shopbob and Nordstrom I wanted one of them for Summer so badly. But they are expensive. 

In fact I don´t want to pay 200 to 300 Euros for those kind of bags so I searched the Internet and I decided to make one by myself. You just need two things. The straw tote and the pompoms. The tote is from amazon. You can find one here, here and here and the pompoms are from Etsy. They are available in every color and every size.


First I wanted them to sew onto the bag but since I am DIYing for my wedding I decided to use my hot glue gun and friends this worked out great.

This really is super easy. 

Step 1
Get your straw tote. Size, shape, color – what ever you prefer.

Step 2
Get your pompoms. Etsy has such a wide range on pompoms. At most stores you can choose colors or get a mix if you prefer that.

Step 3
Get your glue gun and let it heat up.

Step 4 
In the meantime place your pompoms as you like them.

Step 5 
Glue them onto your straw bag and let the glue dry.

Et voilà. You got your personalized bag no one else is carrying around.

hopefully it is a happy Moday to you. I am tired to my bones. The hot weather is not good for sleeping through at night at all. I know I shouldn´t complain about all the sun and the high temperatures but that is something which really bothers me.

But let´s move on to the look. Despite the heat I would probably be tired if it was Winter as well.

The look is really simple and casual but also very summery and an office look. The shirt is a little shorter more like a cropped version but since the pants have a high-waist fit no one is able to see your skin.
To go on with the color sheme of the pink flamingo in the shirt – aren´t flamingos still so adorable ?? – I went with a pair of pink sandals and a matching bag. The little scarf tied onto the handle of the bag is last season but since these scarves became so popular I bet I can find a simlar version to it.
 The earrings are from H&M and real fun. I have to admit I first had worn a pair of pink tassel earrings like these to the look (which probably looked a little better) but the color rubbed off and then I had pink skin and also pink color in my hair. Maybe it was the high humidity on this day or me sweating so bad but this never happened before and I have the same earrings in several colors.

Casual Saturday #32…

Hi guys, 

hope you are all having a great Saturday so far. 

We didn´t do much throughout the week cause I have been feeling a little under the weather lately. Today we went strawberry picking and it was great. The field was super big and covered in strawberries all over. I wish I could photograph the smell for you – it was amazing.

I am planing on making a cake out of them but I am still searching for a recipe you guys could like too.

There hasn´t been much in the fashion department this week. All I ordered was a pair of flat wedding shoes from Asos. They are from Dune London and absolutely adorable, hope they will fit. I figured I don´t want to ruin my main wedding shoes cause they are so pretty and on the outside covered in lace. After our engagement shoot I recognized that walking on  a stony way probably isn´t the best.

Also I ordered a dress from Asos for my bridal brunch which happens to be in six weeks with all the ladies. I am so excited.
We finally found kitchen lamps we both like so there is another achivement in the kitchen department. There is only one piece left I have to find and this room will be completed as well.
Our house is coming together so great.

Didn´t get much out in the last time so we are heading out for dinner with friends today and visiting my grandma and a new opened coffee shop tomorrow.

Planting my herbs….

since the weather around here has been so unstable I am a little behind on getting my garden ready for Spring and Summer but there is one thing I have already accomplished and that is planting my herbs.

I love to cook and of course fresh products from straight out of the garden are way better than dried ones or frozen ones (don´t get me wrong I am using them as well).

So I planted my most used herbs. I didn´t want to put them into the earth cause when there are huge thunderstorms there is way to much water and lots of plants are damaged by that so I got this grey planter in wooden optic.


The herbs I planted are parsley, lemon balm, basil and chives. These are the greens I am using for most of my recipes so that is all I have planted so far. Maybe I am going for a second planter too but I first have to choose other herbs. 


The tricky point for me is how to keep them alive as long as possible. I honestly have never been good with plants or flowers. Don´t get me wrong I love flowers but they just don´t like me.
