We will be in the home stretch of January next week and to be honest I can not wait to start the next month. Hoping for warmer temperatures here, for more things to do and see. The first month of the year is always such a long and boring month. Everyone is resetting for the new year ahead, making plans or just resting, also the weather is the worst of all months.

Meals

MONDAY – Snacks

TUESDAY – Marinated chicken, rice and zatziki. I always love a take on a greek dish for dinner.

WEDNESDAY – Leftovers cause we still had so much different foods in the fridge.

THURSDAY – A casserole is always and easy evening dish. I love to throw everything that´s left in and pop it into the oven. This was a ham and noodle casserole.

FRIDAY – Beef stew and bread dumplings. One of my favorite German dishes. Beef stew with gravy made from scratch and dumplings made of old bread flavored with parsley, salt and pepper.

SATURDAY – We have a great Indian restaurant and I just love the Chicken Tikka Masalla. It is so tasty and flavourful.

SUNDAY – Spaghetti Bolognese – an all time family favorite.

Fashion

This week has been dominated by blues and animal print. Sounds boring but doesn´t look so.

Activities

We went to the dentist on Thursday. The two big girls did great. Opening their mouths as told and holding each others hand taking turns on the dentist chair. It was the sweetest thing to watch as they cheered each other up for their turn.

I also headed to Ikea to pick up my online order. I got a few things for our baptism in April and also for the playroom to organize and sort out some stuff. Never leaving without the classic hot dog and a soft cinnamon bun.

Misc

The weather has been pretty nice over the weekend so we went on a few short walks with our sick kids. Both of the big girls have the flu and my mama heart hurts so much when they are sick. Hopefully we´ll be on the mend in a few days.

I have also started painting on of our living room cabinets cause the white color has turned into a very dirty white almost yellow. I have picked out a dark misty green with a chalk finish. Love it so far and going to share my reel about it next week. But it definitely took much longer than I anticipated.

It was my birthday week this week  so I do have a little more cool things to talk about than the other two weeks. So let´s dive right into it. My big day has been on Wednesday and however is was the coldest and iciest day of the whole week. All the roads and car were icy but we had to get my cake in the morning. My husband went and got it and I was so happy. It saved the whole day. He even came back home early to celebrate with us. We went to eat sushi on Saturday with the girls and my parents. My favorite fishes are salmon and tuna.

The weather has been very gloomy lately but the last two days we got a glimpse of sunshine and warmth and I can´t wait for Spring to be here. I suddenly want to wear lighter fabrics and colors but it will still be too cold for a few weeks.

Meals

MONDAY – The cold months automatically call for soup and I am always on the hunt to try out new ones or I will always be back on my top three – potatoe, tomatoe and chicken noodle. But I did a cauliflower soup and ham sliders for this weeks soup cause I know the girls like these as well and it is very quick and easy to cook which isn´t to shabby for a Monday.

TUESDAY – Haven´t had burger in such a long time whether at a restaurant nor at home so a delcious bacon cheeseburger with curly fries has been long overdue.

WEDNESDAY – Steak and potatoes

THURSDAY –  Bacon, Sauerkraut and noodles

FRIDAY – Leftovers from the week

SATURDAY – Went out for sushi because of my birthday this week. My favorites contain tuna, salmon and avocado. A little spicy or fried ones are so delicious too.

SUNDAY – Chicken and noodle oven dish

Fashion

We are still knee deep in Winter weather and temperatures so lots of layers and warm fabrics it is.

Activities

I went out for coffee and cream cheese pretzel all by myself on my birthday. It was a small but effective gift from me to me. Drinking your coffee in complete peace. A cup of hot cappuccino. I loved it. Also the Christmas decor was still up and it felt so festive. Made me almost miss Christmas already.

My big girl had a playdate on Friday and other than that we didn´t do much. Visited the grandma´s but it is just still too cold outside and almost everything on the playground is still frozen.

Playgroup has started again this week and I was so happy to be back. Not only for the kids to play but also for myself to chat with the other moms. My girl has made a great picture with acrylic paint and marbles. Looks like she is going to be the next Picasso 🙂

Misc

I have started to plan my Valentine´s day content and went to the store to get some baking goods and oh my Easter is already out and everywhere. I mean how in the world is this happening so early. We are still in January and there is also carneval before the Easter holidays. Also we are all going as witches and our little baby is going to be our black cat. I can not wait to see how cute they will all look.

For the last two weeks I have been finalizing little details for the baptism of our little girl. I have finalized and ordered our invitations and I also personalized and ordered a candle for her. Our theme will be daisies and everything is going to be yellow and white. It will be the perfect party theme for the month of April

Weekly Review #2…

….

We started the week with a holiday over here, so we visited my great-aunt in the city. She is very old and most of her relatives and friends are already gone so she is always happy when she gets visits especially

On Friday we have watched the last episodes of Yellowstone and the season finale of it and I have to say some things have been very needless but overall it has had a great ending. Now we are back to square one and looking for a new series.

I have finally put away all of our Christmas decor and the trees. I have to admit I am feeling a little sad that all the magic and the lights are gone but now everything is back to my normal decor and I have also added a new plant to my little jungle corner. If you need any organizational ideas for your Christmas decor you can see all about it in this blog.

Meals

MONDAY –  The girls love to help in the kitchen and making pizza is one of their favorite things to make cause each can use up the ingredients they love the most.

TUESDAY – Lentil soup and grilled cheese

WEDNESDAY – Salmon and Broccoli

THURSDAY – Chicken wings and potatoes

FRIDAY – Noodles with ham and cheese

SATURDAY – Chinese take-out

SUNDAY – Schnitzel and mashed potatoes

Fashion

Cute cold weather fashion is still all the rave around here. Warm scarves, cool coats and colorful beanies will be all around next week.

Activities

To be honest there wasn´t much we did cause the weather is still too cold. Our middle girl is always cold when outside so it really is no fun going anywhere. I hope we soon get milder temperatures so we can go on day trips again.

Kindergarten has started again on Tuesday and it was dearly neccessary cause I can not wait to get back into my weekly schedule and have a better overlook of everything that has to happen or will be the next few weeks.

Misc

Karneval will also be in a few short weeks so I ordered the two big girls and myself witch costumes. Before you get to my Halloween crazy self, I did not request the witch costumes, it was my daughter.

Happy New Year,

I hope you have had a great start into the new year. I  for myself can´t complain. We went to bed right after the fireworks and had a restful night. The first walk around the neighborhood on New Years Day is the most calm of the whole year. Most people are still asleep or still out and about. We didn´t do anything at all on NYE, made pulled beef, spinach dip and got a delicious bread. This is our yearly tradition. On the 1rst of January we always visit my in-laws for some chili at night. The sky this night has been amazing. I have never seen a pink and purple sky before. It was like a sign from above that this is going to be a great year.

Christmas break was really fun and filled with lots of activities and family time but we are ready to get back to normal life with Kindergarten and schedules or at least I am.

Anyways I wanted to start my Weekly Review series again. I was a pretty beloved series I have startet last January but I got pregnant and only made it to #8 before I was always sick each and every day and after that it was pretty much surviving with two toddlers at home.

Meals

WEDNESDAYWe had Chili for dinner at my in-laws. I don´t know the chili recipe my MIL is using but I love this one and the best is that you can throw it into your slow cooker and it is done when you get home.

THURSDAYwas leftover day. Some potatoes, meat and different sausages had to go so we made roasted potatoes and added all the other ingredients to it.

FRIDAYIt was take-out pizza day cause I have been cleaning and putting away Christmas all day and was too tired too cook.

SATURDAYHomemade tomatoe soup. I always cook the same soup you can view the reicpe here.

SUNDAYBeef stew at my in-laws house.

Fashion

Since I have started #nospendjanuary I am still sharing outfit inspo but I only might be able to links some of the newer pieces, if they are still in stock.

Activities

To be honest with all the days off and winter break time really flies by. All the kids are at home and need constantly something so the days fly by. It was snowing the last two days so the bigger kids were able to build little snowmen and go sliding but that was quite it. This week included lots of playtime at home and also at grandma´s house.

Misc

Although I am not buying anything this month I wanted to share that H&M is having a huge sale with lots of pieces up to 70% on sale.
