Good morning friends,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

I am sharing my first snow included look this winter. We didn´t even think about snow in November or December as it was way to warm but now it is here and more than ever (picutre was just the beginning of a week long snow storm).

Since I am not a huge fan of tight pants in general there are some alternatives I love wearing on the colder days like this pretty track pant I got on sale from Zara (I also have the olive version, view post here).

I paired it with a retro inspired two colored pullover with bell sleeves I got from H&M many years ago and a color matching silk scarf I tied to a bow. I honestly loved the bow around my neck very much. It gave the whole look such a sophisticated touch.

Also black and white is never a bad idea. I often reach for this combination when I have absolutely no clue what to wear and add a splash of color to it. Et voilá you have a look.

All together this makes a total work appropriate winter look for your office. You could also change the boots for a pair of black heels and you are good to go.

Hope you are having a great week so far. I am through the middle of my work week already and I couldn´t be happier. Somehow I am still in the weekend.

Why it is okay to reduce your friends at a certain age..

….

Good morning guys,

do you remember your school days and mostly your vacation time? We always were a bunch of girls chatting, laughing and talking about the next big party and cute boys. Always in a cluster and it was fine. We attended the same courses, went to the same cafés and stores and also walked together on the way to the train station to catch our train/bus. But then life comes in your way and after graduation people spread all over the country/area. Interests change. Work comes along. Working hours differ. Relationships come along. It is hard to catch up with everyone so the few who are staying – the inner circle – are the ones who are worth the work.

Yes friendship is work. And the less you have to do the more you can invest your time in your friends. So go back to the time you where having about 10 girlfriends. Of course you knew what everyone was up to. If she had a new boyfriend, new clothes, which destination she went for vacation with her parents, who was heartbroken, who got good grades or the education she was dreaming of…
The list goes on and on. And of course you where able to know cause besides the time you studied or did your homework you always stuck together.
So „after growing up“ it gets a lot harder to maintain those. And this is not only my side. I believe everyone is thinking this way. It is when being selfish suddenly becomes development.

After moving to another city and having a partner and building a house and working and having kids to care for there is only a short time frame left of your day and imagine how tiny it would be if you had to call 10 of your girlfriends to update each. So many get lost one the way. Probably some you thought you would stick forever (I had two really close girlfriends while in secondary school and now I don´t even know where they are or what they are doing).

So having two or three or even just one really good girlfriend you can call no matter what, you can always rely on, you can tell everything without getting judged upfront or being unsure what you can say to not hurt a feeling. To have as much fun topics as serious ones. That is enough and worth the work. Although you really should put effort and work into a friendship, it shouldn´t feel like actual work.

What do you guys about this topic? Anyone experienced something similar.

Casual Saturday #39 – my birthday week + at the bowling centre…

….

Hi guys

and happy weekend to all of you. I am checking in today for another weekly round-up so be sure to grab your fresh cup of coffee and stay with me.

Activities:

Overall through the winter time I get very lazy regarding in times of going out and doing a lot of stuff outside the house. It is just too cold and always dark and it whether snows or rains so not really nice to be out on the street. But despite all the things (and really all of them happended in that one night) we went out last Saturday to a bowling centre with a befriended couple and it was so much fun. We weren´t that bad at all but we really didn´t play to win. Just for fun. After two hours and three rounds of bowling (and upcoming signs of fatigue and hunger) we headed to a nearby restaurant (the Beach House). I have written about this before and they serve – at least in my opinion – the best Ceasar Salad I have found so far. We really enjoyed the nice evening.

On my birthday on Tuesday we went out to have my annual birthday dinner at my favorite restaurant (Tiziano) and had a very nice evening. I got some very nice presents and had a great meal and overall it was a great day. You can read my birthday post including 29 random and personal facts here.

Shopping:

I haven´t gotten too much this week but since I am in full  Valentine´s Day mode everything is whether pink or read or heart shaped/patterned. Just can´t help it. It is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Asos has quite the range of hear patterned pieces like this very Moshino like sweater and these cute pair of heart earrings.

Drinking:

Due to all the festivities (Christmas, New Years and my birthday) of the last weeks we have been drinking lots of champagne. Moet & Chandon is by far my favorite. We are usually keeping one bottle at home for a celebratory event but I mostly drink the more inexpensive version called Freixent as I also really enjoy the taste and they have a lot of different ones.

Watching:

Went on with Supernatural but only saw about 2 more episodes. Also we finished season 2 of Designated Survivor and I am not quite sure if I want to start with YOU. It is super hyped but I have heard positive and negative opinions about it so I am really not sure if I want to waist my time with it (haven´t even read one book in the whole month of December).

Sporting:

I am still not back to my fitness routine but I have recently gotten a workout DVD from amazon. It is called Jillian Michaels – Ripped in 30. There are four rounds, one for every week of the month. You do the same workout every day for one week and then you go on to the second workout for the second week and so on. I did my first on Wednesday and oh boy it was hard. I can´t remember sweating so much and feeling so exhausted and sore after. Took about 25 minutes. Hopefully I can keep up with it.

Reading:

I have to admit I didn´t read a lot the last two weeks. I started Better Than Before from Gretchen Rubin and I also have read a lot of post from a blog I have recently found called Champagne Colored Glasses.

Posts to read from this week:

How to style a Poncho… // Birthday Girl… // Wedding Wednesday – Details on my wedding dress… // Faux fur collar cardigan and black flower dress… // Pleated skirt and windowpane blouse…

I am wishing you all a nice weekend. We are heading out to a Italian restaurant this evening to celebrate Florian´s uncles birthday.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Winter Style // Windowpane blouse + pleated skirt…

skirt H&M old similar here and here / bell sleeve sweater Zara old similar here and here / overknee boots old Mark Adam similar here and here / windowpane blouse bonprix old similar here and here / lips by MAC color Lady Danger

….

Hi guys

and happy Friday. I wanted to post another post today – one a little more on the personal side- but I recognized before posting it, I hadn´t have any picutres for it. #absolutebloggerfail So I am continuing with this look we shot in the snow last week. This was the most we got but others regions where totally shot down and no one could get in or out of there so I am really glad about that.

The Look

I am a total skirt girl. Picking skirts and dresses over anything else so I wanted to share this adorable pleated school girl chic skirt with you. It is an old piece but there are lots of similar styles out there. So for the bottom I have worn a pair of black tights and a pair of overknee boots. Since the pattern and color is going on on top I wanted to keep it pretty simple.

The bell sleeve trend was made for me. I love the romantic touch it adds established as other prints which came out lately. The pullover has a cropped fit so it fit perfectly over the blouse and left just as must uncovered to have a nice look at the print.

The lipstick I am wearing in the picutres above is called Lady Danger and is from MAC. It matches the color a 100%. In fact this was my first ever lipstick I got from MAC and it hooked me forever. I recently wrote a post about my favorite red lipsticks. You can read about it here

So for the other post I wanted to share, I am going to schedule it for next week or even for Sunday. Not quite sure how I get around on taking the picutres. But there is a lot of personal stuff going on these days so my time got limited and I also am not as creative. Hopefully this comes back quickly but I still have lots of fashion posts planned for you guys.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for my weekly round-up. Have a nice evening. to any kind of shirt/sweater/blouse. It might not always be the most practical but if I am honest most of the time I choose style over anything else. The windowpane pattern has been here for a while and while I like it a lot it hasn´t gotten as established as other prints which came out lately. The pullover has a cropped fit so it fit perfectly over the blouse and left just as must uncovered to have a nice look at the print.
