Hello friends,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung-Markennennung/Post enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
I am a born host! I love to cook and serve meals. Love to walk around and make sure everyone has a cold drink in his hand. I´d rather run around and prepare and cook and clean the whole evening than sit around and chat for four hours straight. Don´t get me wrong. I am not aversed to making conversation and I think I can handle the small talk game very well it is just that I love to get everyone together to enjoy a homemade meal.

I have been on the home decor train for a long time and my latest color obsession without a doubt is blue. Ever since I finished recdecorating our living room in the most gorgeous blue hues I can´t get enough of it. And it works so good with many other colors.
Since our patio is done (view post here) we love to entertain outside. It has just such a nice summer vibe when you can have a BBQ at your own patio than having one at a restaurant.

The blue had to be part of our little dinner party so I tried to incorporate as much as possible without overdoing it. In my opinion it turned out pretty great.

For dinner I made focaccia and a mixed salad with yoghurt dressing and also grilled salmon which wasn´t quite ready as we took the pictures.

For the focaccia (flat baked Italian breakd similar to pizza):
Usually you only sprinkle it with salt, olive oil and rosemary but I added some prosciutto, onions, feta cheese and mushrooms (I simply bought the pizza dough and made it extra flat and without sauce).

The salad was the garnish for the salmon which is not picutred. It included lettuce, feta cheese and pine nuts. Also a bunch of homemade croutons and green olives. I made a yoghurt dressing for it including a cup of yoghurt, mustard, vingegar, vegetable stock and salad herbs. In fact you can´t do much wrong by playing around with the texture. I don´t like it super creamy but also not to watery.

Do you love hosting dinner or are you prefered on the guest side?
Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

My thoughts on the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition eyeshadow & highlighter palette…

shorts H&M similar here and here / off-shoulder shirt unknown similar here, here and here / vanity case River Island other style here, similar case here and here

….

Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung-Markennennung, Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
since I haven´t done a beauty post in a while but got a ton of products to try for myself I am now sharing them piece by piece with you.

So let´s talk beauty today. I wanted the Carli Bybel Deluxe palette since I saw her talk about it on her Youtube channel but things don´t come as quick to Germany as I would wish for so I waited ages and then I forgot about it (typically me) so when I finally saw our drug store carry it I had to get it immediately.

The palette has the eyeshadow colors I love and use pretty much every day. Browns and soft pinks and lots of glitter or metallic finish.

The one and only eyeshadow palette I have been using for a long time was the Coastal Scents Warm and Metal Mania palette. Each has 88 shades on its own so you practically don´t need anymore.

But as I said I was curious about the palette and finally got it.
The metallic shades (7) are super pigmented which means less goes a long way. The effect is even better when you are applying them with a wet eyeshadow brush.

The matte shades are color coordinated for blending in with the highly pigmented metallic shades.

The big shades are highlighter colors but they could easily be used as eyeshadow too. Especially when you have fair skin like I do the right shade would be way to dark.

The palette and the whole brand is cruelty free which means they are not testing on animals.

Another thing I love is the packing. Although it is made of cardboard it is beautifully colored and so pretty. The rose gold font competes the look. There is a small mirror inside but in my opinion that is not necessary. I am always using a big led mirror for doing my make-up.

Overall I really like the palette and since the pots are big and you don´t need much color for your lid I think the palette lasts a long time. The 24 Euro are well spend.

If there is anything else you want me to test let me know.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Wedding Wednesday – our wedding rings….

 Rings custom made at Christ
….

Good morning friends,
(post contains links/Werbung-Markennennung, Verlinkung – not sponsored)
I always had a picture of my perfect engagement ring in the back of my mind (and also on my secret wedding Pinterest board) and I really got a super close version. A classic cut, white diamond and white gold. So dreamy. Still love to stare at it as it sparkles in the sun.

So choosing our wedding rings have been a whole other task. I wanted a two-tone ring but I wasn´t quite sure what Florian was thinking about that and also what he liked. As it turned out he had no clue what he liked. So we made an appointment at our local jewelry store (my engagement ring came from there and also my wedding jewelry and several other pieces we own).

We thought that at Christ, our jeweler we would find a pair we liked both and are going to enjoy wearing for the rest of our lives. That they had to had a big variety was obvious but we didn´t expect it to be this huge. There are differences in everything. Color, weight, width and also round isn´t round. You can have a small overview of their wedding ring section online but it really is a small offer.

So we went with white gold first but decided to with platinum cause the material is way stronger and the price was less since the gold prices are so high at the moment.  This definitely was a win-win for us.

The second color we choose to the platinum was rose gold. I wanted a second color and although first I wanted normal gold we opted for the rose since it is much more flattering tone to your skin and the real gold was super yellow and I didn´t like that at all. And I also wanted some diamonds on my wedding ring. Apparently three had to be enough.

We engraved them with each others names and our wedding date on the inside. This is like our secret little code 🙂

I really love our wedding rings and I can´t wait to wear mine in two weeks. So exciting.
Thanks for stopping by. It means a lot to me.

Orange and white geometrical midi dress…

dress can´t remember where it is from simiar color theme here, here and here / white braided waist belt H&M old similar here / slides H&M sold out similar here, here and here / bag Mango last season similar here and here / tassel earrings old similar here and here
….
Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-Markennennung-not sponsored)
orange has always been a favorite color of mine. Whether it is for Summer or for Fall. The bold hue just works so great with a lot of other colors and also happens to fit for every season.
This geometrical print dress turned out to be one of my Summer favorites althought it didn´t look like that as I got it.
I was not quite sure about the pattern and also how the neckline worked and the first time I tried it on I didn´t like it at all. But as it was sitting there on my chair I had to give it another try as I loved the color so much. The neckline is a little tricky but I have a dress with a similar situation so I figured that out again after a while.
Another thing I like is that it isn´t seethrough at all. White dresses are pretty dangerous with this factor if they don´t have any underlining.
I added a waist belt to give the look a little more focus with the crazy pattern and also a more fitted flare. Matching tassel earrings, a laser cut hand bag and my favorite pair of slides completed the look and I was satisfied how it turned out.
Do you have pieces in your closet you have to give a second chance cause the first time you just don´t know what do to with it??

As always thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.
