Hello friends,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung-Markennennung/Post enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
I am a born host! I love to cook and serve meals. Love to walk around and make sure everyone has a cold drink in his hand. I´d rather run around and prepare and cook and clean the whole evening than sit around and chat for four hours straight. Don´t get me wrong. I am not aversed to making conversation and I think I can handle the small talk game very well it is just that I love to get everyone together to enjoy a homemade meal.

I have been on the home decor train for a long time and my latest color obsession without a doubt is blue. Ever since I finished recdecorating our living room in the most gorgeous blue hues I can´t get enough of it. And it works so good with many other colors.
Since our patio is done (view post here) we love to entertain outside. It has just such a nice summer vibe when you can have a BBQ at your own patio than having one at a restaurant.

The blue had to be part of our little dinner party so I tried to incorporate as much as possible without overdoing it. In my opinion it turned out pretty great.

For dinner I made focaccia and a mixed salad with yoghurt dressing and also grilled salmon which wasn´t quite ready as we took the pictures.

For the focaccia (flat baked Italian breakd similar to pizza):
Usually you only sprinkle it with salt, olive oil and rosemary but I added some prosciutto, onions, feta cheese and mushrooms (I simply bought the pizza dough and made it extra flat and without sauce).

The salad was the garnish for the salmon which is not picutred. It included lettuce, feta cheese and pine nuts. Also a bunch of homemade croutons and green olives. I made a yoghurt dressing for it including a cup of yoghurt, mustard, vingegar, vegetable stock and salad herbs. In fact you can´t do much wrong by playing around with the texture. I don´t like it super creamy but also not to watery.

Do you love hosting dinner or are you prefered on the guest side?
Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Planting my herbs….

planter similar here and here / watering can similar here and here / gloves similar here / herbal plugs similar here, here and here

….
Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links/ Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affilate Links)
since the weather around here has been so unstable I am a little behind on getting my garden ready for Spring and Summer but there is one thing I have already accomplished and that is planting my herbs.

I love to cook and of course fresh products from straight out of the garden are way better than dried ones or frozen ones (don´t get me wrong I am using them as well).

So I planted my most used herbs. I didn´t want to put them into the earth cause when there are huge thunderstorms there is way to much water and lots of plants are damaged by that so I got this grey planter in wooden optic.

The herbs I planted are parsley, lemon balm, basil and chives. These are the greens I am using for most of my recipes so that is all I have planted so far. Maybe I am going for a second planter too but I first have to choose other herbs

The tricky point for me is how to keep them alive as long as possible. I honestly have never been good with plants or flowers. Don´t get me wrong I love flowers but they just don´t like me.

Wishing you guys a great and hot weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
it has been a while since we moved in and I shared my first living room reveal. Don´t get me wrong our living room was furnished but it wasn´t fully ready. View the original post here.

From time to time and piece to piece I have been swapping items I didn´t like, into some I really loved. For example the pretty lamp (very similar here). I wanted it so badly and didn´t know where to put it so I built the whole console table construction around. But pst! don´t tell my fiancé 😉
I am totally loving the white and gold combination but for the living room I went for silver, taupe and white and some pops of blue. Since I already had so many pieces in this style.
The center piece of course is the sofa. It might seem big but sometimes it still is a little small for the three of us. Especially Chloe needs lots of space!! The coffee table is my favorite table in the house. I love the shabby chic white and grey optic. Looks like the table has been in our family for many many years. The TV console is a rack I got from Ikea some time ago. The TV takes a huge space away but I really enjoy having this small space left on the right side to set up some decor with candles.

Another piece I really adore and which is one of my latest additions is the consol table behind our sofa. I have seen it in so many other living rooms and I totally fell for it. First of all it is practical cause I can put my mug onto it. My arms are way to short to get to the coffee table. And of course it was another little nook to decorate.

The dining table makes a great centerpiece too. I searched for a white table with white legs and a glossy finish for such a long time. This really is a rare piece. Hope it is going to last a long time. Although when we are having kids we need to get a bigger and extendable table. The chairs are from Ikea and I love that they are forever available. I first had three of them back in my small appartment. And when we moved we got another set of three and these are the exact chairs. So when we opt for a larger table we only need to get a few more chairs instead of swapping them all.
My golden bar cart is a must-have for every living room. You can spot one in every blogger´s home and boy they can be expensive. I got mine from Ikea (seems like my living room is out of their catalogue) and since it was a creamy color I bought some golden spay paint and changed the color. You can view the post about my Summer bar cart here and my Valentine´s Day bar cart here.
I have linked everything I could find and also a ton of similar items under the pictures and in the widgets below.

Food Friday – carrot cake with white chocolate cream cheese frosting for Easter….

….

Hi guys and happy Friday,
the Easter weekend is finally here and I couldn´t be more excited. Having the whole family over tomorrow. Visiting the other part of the family on Sunday. Maybe we get some rest on Monday.
Hope the weather is getting a little better (currently rain and 8°) to hide some eggs outside.
Since everyone in our family is loving my carott cake (the only exception are my parents) I made kind of an Easter tradition out of it. Not sure if I already wrote about it but it was the first cake I have made Florian when we started dating and he loved it ever since so this is our very own Easter tradition.

So put on your aprons, get your ingredients and let´s bake.

Ingredients batter:
 – 4 eggs
– 200 grams of grounded almonds
– 250 ml rape oil
– 1 tablespoon cinnamon
– 2 tablespoons baking powder
– 250 grams flour
– 250 grams sugar
– 375 grams carrots grated

– mix eggs, sugar, oil and cinnamon together
– mix in the carrots and the almonds
– mix in the flour and the baking powder
– put the batter into a buttered round pan
– bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees

Ingredients frosting:
– 250 grams white chocolate melted and cooled
– 2 tablespoons lemon juice
– 320 grams butter soft
– confectioners sugar sifted
– 450 grams cream cheese in room temperature

– mix everthing together and let it cool again for about ten minutes until you put it onto your COLD cake
– spread evenly

Decor:
– 12 marzipan carotts

You could also decorate with colorful candy eggs but I choose these little marzipan carrots to top the cake with.

Are you going to make something on your own for Easter ?

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.
