Home Decor Highlights mit Dear Sam…

Kennen wir sie nicht alle !! Die eine grässlich gehässige weiße Wand die uns tagein, tagaus anstarrt. Jedes Mal wenn man daran vorbeikommt ärgert sie einen wieder. Was tun fragst du dich?

Streichen wäre eine Möglichkeit, aber so viel Aufwand betreiben? Natürlich schaut so eine farbige Akzentwand klasse aus, doch wer will schon die Arbeit, die Sauerei und den Gestank?! NIEMAND. Eine schnelle Lösung muss her, da sind wir uns wohl einig. Also… wie wäre es mit einer Bilderwand!

Und somit kommt auch schon Dear Sam ins Spiel – ein Onlineshop mit über tausend tollen Postern die es einem definitiv nicht leicht machen sich zu entscheiden. Ich habe auch ewig hin und her überlegt und mich dann für ein “Natur” Thema entschieden. Meinen Warenkorb hab ich ungefähr fünfmal überarbeitet bis ich dann endlich zufrieden war (es ist aber auch nicht leicht). Und was am allerbesten ist, die Rahmen kann man gleich passend mit bestellen. So spart man sich das suchen im Keller ob man noch etwas passendes zu Hause hat oder doch zum Möbelladen fährt wo man dann den Zettel mit den Maßen vergessen hat und so Pi mal Daumen schätzen muss welcher es sein könnte.

Nach ca. einer Woche waren die Drucke schon da und eins kann ich euch sagen, die Qualität ist wunderbar. Dickes Papier und schöne farbige Aufdrucke. Machen sich super im Rahmen. Diese gibt es übrigens in verschiedenen Farben, passend zu jeder Deko die Ihr schon habt.

Ich habe mich für Schwarz und Gold entschieden, da sich das am besten in unser Wohnzimmer einfügt und einen richtig guten Kontrast zu der Weißen Wand erzeugt.

Die Bilder aufhängen war super einfach. Ich habe mich gegen ein festes Raster entschieden und die Poster versetzt aufgehängt. Ihr könnt aber auch vorher abmessen und mit Malerband abkleben wenn Ihr etwas akkurater haben wollt. Alles easy peasy.

How to style your bar cart for Easter…

how about a bar cart full of candy to enjoy along the Easter holidays ?? Not the worst idea am I right? I was thinking about how to spice up our Easter holiday because I always have so many ideas for Christmas but Easter comes a little short so I decided to decorate an Easter bar cart and you know what – it turned out even better than I imagined and I love it.

What to put onto your Easter bar cart

I always go with a few key pieces when I decorate a seasonal bar cart:

– Color theme // This is one of the most important things to think of after you decided on a season / holiday to decorate your bar cart with. My main colors are pink, yellow and green.

– Decor // I go with seasonal decor to make sure everyone knows what the theme is. Easter bunnies and ceramic eggs it is.

– Fresh flowers // Fresh flowers always look nice and while I would go with a poinsettia for Christmas I went with bright and colorful gerberas.

– Colorful add-ons // These are things I add to incorporate even more of the color of my theme. For this example it is the straws.

– Antiques or heirlooms // The adorable flower dishes are an heirloom from my great-aunt. I was so excited that it matched so well cause I definitely wanted to incorporate a family piece.

– Candy // An obvious one 😉

Modern Christmas Dinner Table Scape in Pink, Black + Gold…

are you making progress in your Christmas preparations? I definitely do. After decking the halls and wrapping all of the presents and visiting several advent markets I have finally tackled our dinner table. Like every year our families come together on the 25th of December for a Christmas dinner I am hosting.

I have a different table scape every season (it usually matches the color I have decorated my tree) and this year I only made a little change. I wanted the table scape to be black, gold and pink like the ornaments on the tree but (I recently discovered this) the gold on the ornaments is silver – oh boy. Since I already had all the pieces I needed and didn´t want to get everything gold in silver I just went with the gold.

So I got a black tablecloth and started to decorate. The black and white place mats where the hardest to find (or at least I thought so) but since Ikea has a lot of different ones I decided to have a look at their site and voila they went straight into my cart. I really thought this is going to take ages to find similar ones but these are very similar.

I decided to go with white plates rather than black ones and I also didn´t have any black so since I already got everything I also didn´t want to get out again to get new plates. The pink cotton napkins are from amazon and they are great. A super soft and well made material and the color is so pretty.

The water glasses are H&M and I am using these over and over again also for our Thanksgiving dinner (view the post here). They are at a great price point and look great.

For a festive touch I added these little pink rose arrangements to the table and also the glittery champagne bottle ornaments and brass candlesticks with the rose pink candles.

It isn´t a typical Christmas dinner table in the traditional way but it is in no way less festive. I am probably gonna have red all over next year cause at some point I miss the traditional colors.

By adding the Freixenet bottles (by the way my favorite bubbly drink) I wanted to make sure that everyone can handle the aperitif situation as they like. I always have some folks who don´t like the bubbly at all.

Since I am serving a menu there is no need for several matching dishes to place the food on the table.The only thing I forgot in the pictures is my water carafe with the golden rim.

who doesn´t love to cuddle up on the sofa with a hot beverage and watch Christmas movies during the advent time? I know none.

My absolute favorite Christmas movie this year is Christmas with The Kranks. I have already seen it three times and it is hilarious each and every time but also touching. I really like a good mixture in a Christmas movie. And I love Tim Allen. I watchend evey episode of Home Improvement.

So since normal blankets always tend to have a spot where the cold comes in, a mermaid blanket (got this one for Christmas last year from my SIL) goes around yourself and also covers your feet so you don´t freeze. I think the concept is great and it is looking really funny and cool somehow. I like it a lot (and Chloe always tries to sneak in).
