Happy Monday,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

and welcome to Christmas week. The countdown is officially on and I still can´t believe that Christmas is on Thursday. It is a huge blur for me this year and without any festivites it is a little unreal too.

We always made pancakes for Christmas morning but for this year I wanted to take it up a notch so how about a breakfast board??

Yes, my dearest friends it is easy, delicious and an absolute great idea. You could combine any kind of food. We made mini pancakes, waffles and bacon and put lots of toppings on the board too like jam, nutella, chocolate drops, berries and maple syrup.

This is THE real treat. I absolutely life for breakfast and was so so happy about it. To be honest I thought it would be harder to get everything done in time but it was very manageable.

Another great addition would be french toast. Or you serve a hearty breakfast board including bacon and fried eggs, avocado and toast plus it is so pretty on the eye.

Happy Saturday you guys,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

it was a real chill one over here. We went out on a walk and got a coffee to-go plus I made a little pre-Thanksgiving dinner for just the two of us since we can not celebrate as we are in light-lockdown.

I am a little sad that so many of our themed dinners already got cancelled but it is for the greater good and we´ll see if it helps.

So for our Thanksgiving dinner the last few years I have made tons of side dishes and wanted to share them here for you (in case you need some inspo and are allowed to celebrate).

The green bean casserole from the pictures above can be found here.

Have a nice weekend you guys. See you on Monday.

Happy Friday you guys,

have you already heard about Dalgona Coffee ? I am sure everyone and their mother has already tried it and I am the last person on the Internet and / or the real world who had no clue how it tasted until today.

Dalgona Coffee quickly became famous during the lockdown as everybody tried it out due to too much time at home (the other recipe that went viral had been banana bread). I have seen countless posts about the coffee and it got me so curious but in the meantime I had a baby and forgot about it but I finally got some instant coffee from the grocery store – the main ingredient you will need.

Dalgona Coffee

So here is the recipe I used for mine but there are hundreds if not thousands of similar ones on the web. How did it taste? I made one with normal milk and one with oatmilk just to find out that the type of milk doesn´t matter in terms of taste so you can use any you would prefer. The coffee creme itself is pretty strong. My husbands loved it right away, but I should mention that he is a big coffee drinker and normally prefers a stronger blend. I on the other side like my coffee a little lighter so I went get jittery from all of the caffeine.

I mixed the creamy topping whit the milk (didn´t look so nice after) and it was totally manageable to drink even for me. The creamy texture of the instant coffee creme is one of a kind and I was so impressed at how easy the Dalgona coffee drink is to make. It definitely makes for an impressive drink to serve to guests.

In conclusion it is super easy and cheap to make. The Dalgona coffee definitely steps up your every day coffee game and a one of a kind interesting coffee drink. I would say it is a total hit and if you haven´t tried it already go for it.

TGIF ladies,

I am sharing a family recipe with you today. To be honest we don´t have many recipes in our family which have been passed on by generations, maybe a good handful, but the ones we do have are delicious.

So for today´s Food Friday blog post I am sharing my grandma´s nut cake recipe. It was the only cake she has ever made or could make and we got to enjoy it every weekend but it was awesome. So soft and juicy inside and a chocolatey delight on the outside.

Maybe the trick are the secret ingredients you can find inside the cake – whole hazelnuts and chunks of dark chocolate. Sounds good? You would be surprised how delicious it tastes.

So without no further ado I am sharing the recipe with you.

Grandma´s Nut Cake Ingredients

 – 250 gr. of sugar

 – 250 gr. of flour

 – 125 gr. of butter

 – 3 eggs

 – 1 package of baking powder

 – 250 gr. of hazelnuts

 – 250 gr. chocolate chunks

 – extra chocolate to melt over the cake

 – melt the butter and mix it with the eggs and the sugar until fluffy

 – add the dry ingredients until your batter is mixed nicely

 – add the chocolate chunks

 – pour the batter into a bundt cake tin (every other cake tin would work fine too)

 – put it i the oven for 35 to 40 minutes by 180° C

 – let the cake cool down and pour the melted chocolate over it

 – if you like you can put some hazelnut chunks on the warm chocolate to decorate as well

Check out my recipe tab for more great dishes/sweet treats/drinks here.

See you tomorrow for round two of my #closetchallenge.
