Eveyone has it, the most feared drawer in your home- the junk drawer. It is placed mainly in the kitchen, some have another one in their office. We had three in our kitchen and I hated them. Some item was always blocking the drawer so we could almost never open it properly. That get´s the most of me when I need access to get something and am stuck and probably breaking my nail by trying to enter it.

Now this is the past in our household. I conquered the junk drawer and organized the heck out of them, got rid of crap and also ordered little helper from amazon.

All Things Gingerbread….

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

Maybe you can guess our overall Christmas decor theme from the header – yep, it is gingerbread houses and men. I wanted to do a tree with brown and green and golden ornaments and decor so I thought a little about it and in my opinion the gingerbread will complement it perfectly.

I have a pretty laid back color teme this year. It is brown, green and gold. I did not start with this many different ornaments but I have found a ton of cute things after setting up the tree so I am still adding to my Christmas tree. I have linked several things I have had my eye on below and some I got for our home.

Our Harvest Backyard Festival 23…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

I love Gilmore Girls and espcecially all the Fall episodes with the small town flair and their very cute Fall festivals at the town square so I decided to go all out this year and make our own Fall Festival with Fall boths and lots of different Fall themed foods.

Seems like a fairly huge task for only one person but to be honest it was easier than I anticipated. The main word here is preparation. It is key to focus on the tasks you need to get done first and then prepare task after task after task. So the first thing I started with was the drawing of the Fall boths.

How to make your own Fall booth

I am going to spare you of my drawings cause no other than me can decipher anything on this small piece of paper, instead I am sharing all of my knowledge on here. Half of it is from Pinterest which always inspires me a lot. First of all I am have planned two Fall booths and one photo station.

The first booth is really really easy. It is just a taple top on hay bales covered with a gingham tablecloth. Et voilá. Now add a ton of pumpkins and some good food and you are already done.

Now the second booth is a little trickier. I went on ebay and got two palettes for free from someone who doesn´t need them anymore. They are a little worn off but that is not important cause I have painted it in a dark brown wooden color and added so much decor.

Since this is more like a bar area I wanted it to be a little higher and and closed on top so I built around the two palettes which also gave me the opportunity to add even more decor and also string lights.

Most of the decor is from a very cheap store (Tedi) cause it is very likely that it doesn´t survive this so I did not want to spend too much money.

Fall Photo Corner

First of all I wanted to have a cozy and comfortable corner to sit in and second of all a photoworthy spot to comemorate our first Fall festival ever. After I combined these two things I was very pleased with myself for having such a great idea. It was one of the prettiest spots. We took lots of photos here and the kids loved the bench to climb up and down the whole time.

Fall Foods for our Fall Festivals

– pumpkin bread

– pumpkin pie

– apple pie

– pumpkin soup

– flatbread with sweet potatoes and onion, bacon and sour cream

– BBQ meatballs (Crockpot)

Master Bedroom Make-Over in Black and Creme…

….

Oops, I did it again !!!

I have yet again rededorated and restyled our master bedroom and this time (fingers crossed) it will hopefully be the last time cause I have never been so satisfied and content with it. The last couple of years have been a finding phase. I have always had a vision and loved several looks I had saved on Pinterest but somehow strayed away from that.

The first time I shared our bedroom here – it was still in its finding phase. The wall was bright orange when we moved in and I just made it work while thinking how I could change it and spice it up so it would be a great fit for us.

The second time I shared our bedroom I changed the color theme to gray and turquoise and I definitely loved it for a while but I often found myself going back to my Pinterest explore page and look at bedroom inspo I had saved for so long.

This Summer we decided to look for a new and bigger bed because the two girls end up in there every night at some point and for four people it is just too small so I sensed my chance of yet another master bedroom make-over.

And here we are – done and happy with a big ´ol smile.

Master Bedroom Make-Over

The Color Theme

I find that the black and cream color combo is super soothing and calming. I instantly feel good when I enter the bedroom. Gold accents are spread in the bedroom as well to add that luxurious feel.

The Decor

The eyecatcher of the room definitely is the gallery wall behind our bed. I love it so much I could just stare at it. The black book shelves stacked with many different sized and colored frames is my favorite part of the room.

Another thing I have loved about our bohemian black and beige bedroom are the fringes and tassels on the curtains and pillows. If we had a cat it would go nuts in there!! I have reused a great amount of decor I had left from other rooms. Also the gallery wall frames are the same. They had been silver in the past but I spray painted them black, as well as the handles of the closet and the curtain rods. Switched out the mirrors, the curtains and the carpet and created a whole new styled and feel for the room as well as a new decor theme.

It feels very inviting and comfy and not cool at all (I think the gray wall color was a big part of that).

The Furniture

I only changed out two pieces of furniture. The little side table in the corner and the chair. The brown leaf shaped side table has been sitting in our attic for years cause I did not want to give it away and now it perfectly serves its new purpose. I had a gray velvet armchair in this corner and it was super cute and comfortable but I sold it and got this new sleek and modern chair for it. Everything else was in the room before. Even the bed although I told y´all we were getting a new one which might take longer than I have anticipated.
