There are few things I enjoy as much as setting a table for a festive holiday dinner or for hosting our friends. It is always so much fun to choose a theme and color and work my way through. From placemats to napkins to candles and table decor.

For this years Fall table scape I went with a Golden Fall theme. Sunflowers!! To make the yellow really pop and set it apart I decided to go with a dark shade of blue and it turned out fabulous. My husband also liked it a lot and he usually doesn´t care too much abou these kinds of things.

The first piece I got was the yellow gingham table cloth. The perfect yellow and pattern to beginn with. After that I ordered plain napkins in yellow and got a huge bunch of sunflowers. The sunflowers are the center piece of the table so I worked my way around. The golden candle holder are a staple in our home and I used them all the time. 3 of them are on my sidebord as year round decor. I also have these in silver as well as black. In my opinion they are perfect for so many ocassions and the price point is amazing.

Now for the blue part I got these round woven placemats. I also like to mix and match patterns so I got these blue gingham plates for appetizers. They are a little smaller than your average plate and pop right out under the yellow napkin.

Also aren´t these glossy candles candles the prettiest you have ever seen ? They are super affordable and to way to amazing to burn down.

Are you hosting for Fall or at least for Thanksgiving or do you like being invited to eat?

What I put in our Nurse´s baskets…

….

FYI: I prepared this blog post before our baby girl arrived so there would still be fresh content on the blog while I am taking a break from blogging. That’s why you’ll still see me pregnant or referencing my pregnancy in some upcoming blog posts!

Putting the nurses basket together was really fun. I love making gift baskets and also enjoyed it this time (I have actually also made a huge basket to take with me when I went to hospital with Emilia but I have never gotten around to share it and after a few months I didn´t even find the photos anymore but I loved how the nurses loved the surprise and little things I got for them). The day I finished the basket actually was the day I went into labour. Maybe it was because this was the last thing to finish and after that I was mentally ready for her to be here.

So this time it definitely didn´t do anyhting for me other than feeling very accomplished. I made two baskets this time around cause the labour and delivery ward is another than the postpartum station and there are wonderful people in both areas that care for you and the baby.

I got lots of little but “practical” things for the baskets. And before you get to me this is not meant to be that everybody gets a piece of everything. It is the idea of taking some little things that you might want/need at that moment like a sweet treat, some gum, a hair tie or even just a pen.

What I put into the nurses baskets

 – lip blam

 – hand cream

 – gum

 – giotto

 – notepad

 – pencils

 – hair accessories

 – trail mix

These are just some things you could get but there are a thousands more like little coffee cans, gift cards, hand sanitizers and many many more. I think you get where I am going to.

Do you like the idea of giving the hospital staff a little something for their efforts? I know that it is their work but it isn´t it nice to be valued as well??!!

Happy Thursday you guys,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not spnsored)

if the last year has taught us anything it´s that your health is most important overall. With a world wide pandemic still going strong many people got sick and still aren´t recovered fully.

Even if you are a mindful and healthy eater you probably won´t get enough of the vitamins you should have for a healthy metabolism and strong immune system cause most of the processed foods or vegetables/fruit don´t have what it takes to help you out in this department.

Don´t get me wrong we try to eat as healthy as possible but sometimes you need support in certain areas of your live.

Supplements I am taking

First and foremost I am not a doctor and I have no medical knowledge therefore I am not recommending to take anything without talking to one. This is just an example what I take and what helps me stay as healthy as possible in these unsure times.

Vitamin C // Vitamin C is the classic, the mother of the vitamins. A few hundred years back and in some areas still Vitamin C was used to treat and prevent scurvy cause if you have a high shortage you teeth could fall out for example. Nowaday Vitamin C is used to protect cells and keeping them healthy, maintaining healthy skin and bones.

Vitamin D // Almost every adult has a shortage on Vitamin D which is definitely alarming for a country like Germany where we have access to everything. The body is able to absorb Vitamin D from certain foods like spinach, kale, soy beans and okras as well as from direct sunlight but still not as much as the human body would need to be satisfied. Vitamin D is important for your brain. It helps to lighten your mood but it will also support fertility plus taken together with calcium it helps to maintain strong bones and prevent diseases like osteoporosis.

Vitamin B6 // This also has been one of the vitamins I have taken since I found out I was pregnant. It is supposed to help with your energy level, boost your immune system and help with blood formation.

Zinc // Another great supplement. Zinc helps the immune system fight off bacteria and viruses. The body also needs zinc to make proteins and DNA, the genetic material in all cells. During pregnancy, infancy, and childhood, the body needs zinc to grow and develop properly.

Magnesium // I have been taking this since early in my pregnancy cause it had very bad ligament pain and taking magnesium three times a day helped a lot so I got very used to it and take it as well. Probably what helped to prevent sore muscles after starting to work out again but Magnesium itself has other great benefits too. It´s regulating blood pressure, supporting the immune system and helps with muscle and nerve function.

Selen // This is a new to me supplement I recently incorporated into my daily rations. It is known to help with thyroid function and protects your body from damage by oxidative stress. Selenium can also give you a great boost for your immune system and helps to prevent heart disease.

Omega 3 // Omega 3 or the fatty acid is known as the heart supplement. It can help prevent cardivasculare diseases and helps very well with inflammation. I have been using this for a while now but to be honest I hate how big the capsules are.

Pill Box is from amazon and it helps me stay on top of my daily doses.

Don´t we all know the feeling of falling into a fresh made bed. I mostly know this from hotel beds which always have their very special and super fresh smell and I wanted to have this for my home to.

First of all I swapped out our bedding. I went with an all white ruffled bedding on pillows and blankets and I LOVE it. Love it. Looks so clean and super chic.

To set some color accents I added velvet ruffled pillows from H&M (I have linked them in the widget below), gray velvet pillows (they are also from H&M but could not find them to link) and the bigger turquoise pillows that match the duvet (set is from Ikea, still available but in another color).

All of the colors complement the hues that are already present in the bedroom. The light gray and mint shades create a super calming atmosphere.

Now for smells – I love anything Rituals related and one of my two favorite lines is the Sakura line. It smells divine like cherry blossoms and rice milk. So this is my tip to get your favorite body cream onto your sheets without staining – body mist. Simple is the answer. I got this body mist a while ago and immediately thought of it.

Using a body mist for you bedding is the perfect solution if you are sensitive to softeners and anything detergent related. I smells great but doesn´t stay on too long plus it is not overpowering or irritating.

Do you have and tips and tricks to get a fresh and divine smelling bedroom ? I would love to hear.

I definitely look forward on making my bed in the morning now cause I love the look of our new bedding and the decor pillows.

Next week is going to be all fashion related. I am sharing my last Winter outfits before we are diving right into Spring styles and colors.
