Buon Giorno,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

it´s been almost 5 weeeks since we are back from Lake Garda and I am finally coming around to write my last travel post in terms of this vacation. Read my Food Guide here and my Verona Travel Diary here.

We checked-in in the afternoon and only hang out by the pool until it was time for dinner. After we dressed up we went down to the Peschiera city centre and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

But you don´t have to be by the pool every day, there are plenty of acitivites you can do around the lake. I have rounded-up some activities we already did or planning for the next time.

What to do:

 – visit the surrounding cities (we already visited Garda, Lazise, Sirmione, Bardolino, Peschiera del Garda, Verona, Milan,

 – go to the market (there are local markets every day, our favorite one is on Thursday in Barodlino but we also visited the market in Garda on Friday and Peschiera del Garda on Monday)

 – play mini golf (we love to go play after dinner, also it isn´t as hot anymore)

 – shop ´till you drop (Affi has a huge shopping centre with different Italian stores, also shopping in Verona is great and every little city of course has its own shops)

 – bath in the Lake (there are places which don´t belong to the hotels everywhere)

 – go wine tasting (I always wanted to do

 – visit the Gardaland theme park (I have been years ago and it has evolved so much, there are a ton of new rides so whether you are a rollercoaster junkie or you are visiting with your toddler there is lots of fun for everyone)

 – go on a ferry ride to another city

 – go to a dinner show (there are two dinner shows available – a Rock´n Roll dinner show and a Medieval Times dinner show)

 – rent a boat (only possible if you have a boat license, the lake is huge and the cities can also all be visited by boat so if you are fed up of riding your car give it a try)

 – go parasailing (I have done this years ago and for 50 Euro I would say it is totally affordable and you have the greatest view of the lake you will ever get, awesome experience)

This are some of my top recommendations if you want to do a little more than lying by the pool.

If you want to know more what to do feel free to mail me.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

It has been over three years now since we moved into our house and I have to admit we are near crossing the finishing line (yes, it took me this long) on remodelling and decorating and furnishing. I re-did room after room and it took me a while to find out what I wanted for each of the rooms. The house was ready as we moved in but we didn´t like all of the wall colors so we first had to paint and then move on with decorative bricks or wallpaper or art.

Art itself is a difficult theme to talk about cause it somehow is like style. You see pictures or paintings you will like and a lot you will dislike. What your friends think looks amazing might creep you out and vice versa. And another huge factor in terms of art is the price. If you want to have an original hand painted piece it can cost you up to thousands of Euros (or even more) and who can or wants to spend so much money?! I am sharing an affordable way on how to decorate your walls with pieces you love for an affordable price. All you have to do is find what you like and be a little creative.

Places to look for art

Ikea // Let´s start with the easiest place and that would be Ikea for me. Simply because you walk in and choose what you like and leave. Most of their pieces are already framed or canvases but they also have different kind of pictures without a frame and a huge section with all shapes and color of frames so you can get creative on your own. I got my Jamea Dean and Audrey Hepburn cavases from Ikea and love them a lot. They are a classic piece in color and print and will match everywhere around the house.

Amazon // Another place to look for prints, pictures, paintings is amazon. I got my “Prada Marfa” canvas from amazon and I absolutely love it. It is hanging above my makeup table and totally completes my little beauty corner.

Etsy // And last but definitely not boring and with the most choices – the Etsy market place. I love to browse all of their downloadable pictures cause so I get them right away and can decide which kind of frame and size I like. It is the perfect way to customize your picture.

What kind of art do you prefer in your home? Does it have to be rare and exclusive or do you combine personal photos with modern prints.

As always thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Good morning you guys,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

today´s post really gets me excited. I am a organization -let´s say- freak and I can totally get my fix out of it. When I am cleaning up our house on a daily base and nothing is standing around and it looks nice and smells good I get a deeply satisfiying and happy feeling. Everytime I walk by I can only smile. I know this is super weird and some might think how can someone be so obsessed with cleaning and a tidied up house but I am. I never took and eneagramm test but I would probably tend to be a 1 in this field.

I totally hate it if a thing hasn´t a place to go. Stuff lying around without a reserved spot in a closet or drawer makes me nervous. I recently redid my pantry and that was my absoulte nemesis haunting me in my dreams. Why is this room always such a mess?

Anyways I have 5 tipps for you today to make organizing your home a little easier cause it seems daunting and overwhelming starting right in the middle and you might think you will never get the job done.

1 // Choose sections one at a time

You can´t tackle everything at once. The mess you have to make to get a drawer / section organized will drive you mad cause you have to clear out everything first to have an overview on which amount of stuff you have to work on.

2 // Declutter first

Declutter before organizing. Getting rid of stuff before you are sorting things back in is essential. First of all it creates new space and second of all you don´t have to touch the stuff twice which saves a huge amount of time and nerves. Also a great tip if you have a upcoming move. You will save so much time unpacking and also a bunch of full boxes. You can always donate things which are still fine.

3 // Order in category piles

This will be your rough grid of how many catgories you have and how high the amount of things is for each. It is essential for step 4 cause otherwise you will again have to much items lying around in your house you don´t need.

4 // Get the right baskets / labels

Since you know now exactly how many different boxes you will need you can go to the Home Depot or Ikea or the Container Store or oder from amazon but boxes to store your stuff are important. Be sure to get labels (or a label maker if you are a professional) as well and pens to write onto these (often forgotten). It will give you a feel of relieve when everything goes into a place and is organized and put away.

5 // Incorporate a system into your daily routine

So the last tip requires a little persistence because you won´t be as cluttered as before if you are putting back the items you need every day. I know this may seem ridiculous but there really is a work relief behind it. It is just like any other habbit you have. It needs time to establish but after a few weeks you will do it automatically.

Even if you are just starting to get your home organized or you are a long time organizer like I am and love to improve on your system I hope this has been a little helpful. I get most of my bins, boxes and baskets from Ikea. They have a great variety on size, material and color.

If you have any questions left let me know. Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

The top 9 shows on Netflix to watch now…

….

Good morning to all of my binge watching series junkies,

(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Markennennung/ Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

since we subscribed to Neflix we haven´t watched normal tv in a very long time and in fact we don´t miss it at all. We can watch more than just one episode if we want and there is no commercial you have to sit out also your program can be paused at every time and finished later. Also you can pick from endless options of movies, shows and so much more. For us it is the invention of a century and we love it dearly.

So for today´s post I am rounding up the top shows on Netflix to watch now. I like to have different kinds of shows on my hands cause when I am at home running around cleaning I can´t give my full attention to a show but still want to be able to watch the next episode and understand what happened without rewatching it. But in the evenings when I finally have time to sit down on my sofa and watch a show or a movie without a break this is the time for more complex shows were you can´t even miss a minute.

Let´s dive into my picks:

Money Heist // We are probably the last ones by now who started with season one but better late than never. I loved it at the beginning but got a little bored halfway and pushed through. We are now at the end of season one and still trapped in the same building. This is going to go on like this for some more episodes. Hopefully the plot is staying exciting and unpredictable.

Grace & Frankie // I adore Jane Fonda. She is a marvellous actress and rocked this show. It is about all of the pains (physically and metally) of getting older plus when your husbands leaves you to marry his lawyer partner after 30 years. Doesn´t happen every day. Give it a try. It is funny and heartwarming and so truthful.

modern family // My alltime favorite show ever. I have probably seen every episode about 5 times by now and still love them all. It shows all the differences and problems a big patchwork family has to overcome with lots of humor.

The Crown // I was curious about this one cause I have read about it so many times and I have to admit I really love watching the show. First of all there is a huge learning factor if you are not familiar with british monarchie and second of all the actors are great to watch. I am currently on season two and not tired of it. The only downside is that I really don´t like Philip. Maybe it is the actor or the way he behaves. I thing he is a huge a**.

Chesapeake Shores // This is another background show I love to watch when I am doing blog work or anything else. It is about five children scattered all over the US coming back to their birth house as life is at its worst for each of them. The grandmother and father who still live their are thrilled to have them all back and help as much as possible. It is such a romantic and dramatic and scenic show. Might be a little to shallow for some but I love it.

Sherlock // We recently started to watch this and are fascinated but this is heavy food. If you want to watch it and know what they are talking about you have to focus a 100 %. They talk really fast and actions also happen very fast so there is no checking your phone or getting something from the kitchen in the meantime.

Friends // An all time classe – this is one of my background shows. I haven´t seen it since it finished on tv which has been quite some time. I have to admit I didn´t have it as this funny on my mind but I love it. It is perfect for doing something besides watching a show.

Queer Eye // I just love the Fab Five, there is nothing more I can see. To see how they change the lifes of people who are stuck in their every day routine and desperately unhappy makes me sob each and every time.

Suits // This is Florian´s pick but I had to add it here because he truly loves this show and get´s excited every time a new season comes out. I have been told it isn´t about the cases and clients primarily. It is about the work at the office and the relations between the other lawyers the staff and other law firms. Although I don´t understand much of it cause I have never seen even one full episode each of them is dressed very sharp.

Phew! That was a long post, so if you are still with me thank you. If not I completely understand. I am sharing another round-up of shows we have already seen probably next month.

Which ones will you be watching next or have you seen them all ?

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.
