After six years of living in this house and two attemps I have finally finished our office to the last detail. It has taken me so much time and to be honest I just don´t know why. I have started the renovation process October 19 and then the pandemic hit and my husband used it to work from home and after that we had a baby so it became a little less important for me to get it done but it never went out of my mind.

Our office hasn´t always been an office, most of the time inbetween it was more of a junk room full of boxes, stuff I needed to return, coats and spiders. I really couldn´t be more glad and I love how it turned out plus the vibrant and dark green wall color definitely is a favorite in our house.

Office Color Theme

As I already said the color theme of our office is a little darker and much modier than the rest of our house. I have two forest green walls and two bright white walls and the contrast is absolutely stunning. The dark green color looks amazing with the all white furniture. I wanted to keep it mostly in these two colors (green carpet and armchair, white furniture) and only added silver accents through decoration. 

Beverage Corner

This might be a little too fancy for a home office and maybe also totally pointless but I love it. I have seen that some offices have beverage carts and the thought of just turning around and making a cup of coffee or getting a glass of diet coke seems pretty great to me. I outsourced one of my old coffee machines into our office. The cups and sugar / milk are in the left top drawer and if you want to enjoy some soda you can choose between San Pellegrino and Diet Coke my two favorites. Not necessary but super cool.

Computer / Desk Area

This would be the normal area in an office but what is normal these days!!! The desk we have in our office is really old. I already used it as a school girl so this is a real sustainable piece I have used for more than 15 years now. Initially it was dark brown but I stained it white with a chalk color to achive this used look and I still like how it turned out. The three drawers on the left are used for all of my notebooks and computer related cables other than that they are empty. To the left of the desk is a little station that hides all the cables, those are a lot!!! And the two little side tables are also perfect to for the printer to sit on. I also have a little fashion and style inspo board with tons of outfits I have loved to stay inspired.

Reading Nook

We definitely both love to read although there hasn´t been that much time left since Emilia is here. Nevertheless both of us brought lots of books into this marriage whether it was novels or text books from my husbands work. I had to find nice storage place for them other than pilling them up behind the armchair. So I got these two billy shelves and I am really happy how this little nook turned out. I found a place to put all of our souvenirs as well and some of my decor to place inbetween the books. The forest green armchair with the soft and cozy fur complements the reading nook. I ended up getting a side table / foot rest cause first of all it looked uncomplete without and second of all this is really practically / comfortable while reading.

Storage

As far as storage goes there is plenty in the new office. From the Malm dresser with lots of drawers to the Billy shelves where I store all of our books and important documents to the drawers of the desk and the boxes of the Kallax. Many of the drawers and boxes are still empty which isn´t bad because with a growing family there will always be a need for storage. All of the furniture (except the desk) are from Ikea and linked (if still available) above.

I personally love Ikea and that all of their pieces are compatible colorwise plus they are still affordable although the prices have increased a lot since the pancdemic and availability isn´t always given. 

So that´s it. Now you have seen our updated office. Took us only six years to share with you guys.

I am sharing a long overdue post in the work category today. As you might know I am working 4 full days of the week at an engineering office and therefore I always have lots of stuff with me which normally includes my phone, keys, charger, wallet, my makeup pouch and another one for other things like hand sanitizer, pencils, gum.
 I also have my Erin Condren life planner with me along with my breakfast, lunch and a small snack for in between, as well as my tea bottle and two water bottles (I need this much stuff because there is no way of getting food at my work place and we are also in the middle of nowhere so there is nothing around).
 Most of the food/drink stuff is in a small separate basket but let´s think of the possibilty of also carrying your notebook or tablet in your handbag too.
 
I got this beautiful yellow satchel (color is called safran) bag from my husband for my birthday last week and loved it ever since. Not only do I truly love the brand (it is from Lauren by Ralph Lauren) and wanted to own a bag of theirs for the longest time but I also love the rich and vibrant shade of yellow. This will go with so much different looks I can´t wait to style it differently.
Don´t hesitate to use color for your office looks. If your color palette for clothes is more on the nude and/or darker side add a pop of color by a beautiful handbag. A red or even a vibrant 
 
For this and also for the fashionable reason I have rounded up a bunch of great options for your “office bag“. I would always pick a hand bag with a well made bottom that stands for itself. If you can see right inside it, clutter won´t be produced by searching for stuff. 
The perfect modell differs a little but I wouldn´t stray to far aside from a shopper, tote or satchel bag. I have listed my favorite finds for each price category since we all have different point of view on money and the worth of a hand bag for one personally.
The look I am wearing has become a go-to for me this winter. A comfortable knit midi skirt paired with a cute sweater, boots (preferable super cool statement boots) and a colorful bag. Of course I am wearing a jacket when I am outside but that would be a nice look for a more casual day at the office or even the wekend.

since I am spending most days at the office (like the most people do), I am working Monday to Thursday, I figured that it could be a little prettier there. But you probably won´t get any prettier from your work place so I figured I have to soround myself with my favorite office essentials.
Usually no one takes a lunch brake (don´t know why cause this would be really nice, eat together and chat a little) so I am bringing my food with me (there also isn´t a place around where you can get something to eat – like nothing). I recently got this lunchbag from JSK via amazon with this super fashionable houndstooth print. It has enough space for my lunch, my smoothie and even a small bottle of diet coke and some fruit. It is insulated from the inside so this cool or warm your stuff.
Another piece I adore is my Starbucks travel mug (all white one here). With the white ceramic, all the xo´s and the lipstick kisses all over this reminds me of Gossip Girl every time I look at it. Think Blair Waldorf walking down the New York streets with one of these. Adorable.

Since this is available in stores only (got mine in Munich) I am sharing my second choice with you. The Kate Spade thermo coffee mug as seen in this post. The print is called pink flamingo and I ordered it from Asos a few days before Christmas. Morning coffee really tastes better from a beautiful cup. But don´t be to sad if this one is sold out too cause I have never seen a Kate Spade mug I didn´t like.


I also have a glass water bottle I recently found at the Depot decoration store. It has a palm leaf print all over and a wooden bamboo lid. It can carry your hot tea as well as some juice or just water and for about 13 Euro this gadget is a real beauty to add to your office supply. I totally need something like this standing besides my screen and reminding me to drink enough throughout the day.


My planer is a piece I am constantly taking with me to keep track of upcoming appointments and birthday´s. I do have a calendar in my phone as well but I have to write it down on paper. I got this planer for 2018 from ban.do
 via Asos. I think they have the funniest and prettiest pieces.

Another tip to pop up your office space is to bring your own sticky notes and paperclips. These are so pretty and these are really funny.
