Hi guys and happy Food Friday,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
with the beginning of June the strawberry season has finally started too. I don´t know what it is about this delicious little berry but whether you are making juice, cake or jam out of it or you are eating them pure they are so so good.

And the smell guys. Sometimes I wish I could capture the smell for you. The strawberry field smelled so sweet!!!

Since I am not a real fruit lover I do have my exceptions when it comes to strawberries (or raspberries, pineapples or melons).

We picked about 8 pounds so the first thing I did when I got home was making dough for a strawberry pie (and the leftover strawberries where cut for jam but this recipe is coming next week then).

Here are the ingredients:

for the dough
3 cups of flour
2 tablespoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/3 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or paste
3/4 cup butter not melted

– mix the ingredients together until your are having a sticky dough
– then put some flour onto a clean area in your kitchen
– knead the dough with your hands until everything is combined just fine

-take a rolling pin and roll out dough evenly
– take a cup in the size you like and cut out round pieces

– I made all the little dough pieces below from one dough so this really is enough
– let them cool down for about 15 minutes
– spread a mixture of confectioners sugar and heavy cream on top and bake for about 20 minutes by 160° degrees

for the strawberries:
– 750 gramms of strawberries
– 2 spoons of sugar

– marinade the strawberries with the sugar and let them rest

for the heavy cream
– take as much heavy cream as you like and whip it until its really solid
(you can make the test by flipping your bowl – if it doesn´t come out the consistency is great (but be careful or you are producing quite the mess)

Now head to your nearest strawberry field and get your fix for the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Food Friday – banana bread…

….

Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
I am sharing another recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth over here today. There aren´t too many great dishes than a warm and delicious slice of banana bread straight out of the oven.

In fact I don´t like bananas. Never liked them, never ate them. But I thought I might give the recicpe a shot since this really is the hit for so many ocassions and so easy to make.

Ingredients:
– 250 gr. flour
– 1 stick butter
– 1 tbl spoon baking powder
– 1 tbl spoon corn starch
– 150 gr. sugar
 – 2 eggs
– 300 gr. bananas (make sure they are overripe for the sweetness)
– 60 gr. sour cream
– pinch of salt
– vanilla paste

– whisk together melted butter and sugar
– add eggs, bananas, sour cream and vanilla
– add the flour, baking powder and corn starch to the batter
– make sure all the ingredients are nicely combined

– bake for 50 minutes at 170 ° degrees

If you are using small loaf pans like I did be sure to adjust the baking time.

I am going to be MIA for today since there is a lot of preparation for tonight going on. I might share some on my Insta stories so be sure to check that (@madame_schischi).

Meanwhile you could try this awesome cake.

Food Friday – homemade cashew creamer(dairy free)….

glass jar similar here / Anthropologie mug / place mat / kitchen towel similar here / our coffeemachine Dolce Gusto (we own the older version) / our favorite coffee

….

Hi guys,

since I am cutting out most of the dairy products from my diet I am always on the search for other options and also for new products. I am a huge coffe lover addict so the most important part for me was to find a replacement for the milk in my coffee.

I was drinking soy milk for a long time and then I switched to oat milk which I honestly enjoy much more. It tastes a little sweeter and I like it a lot better. Recently I was at the supermarket and looking for another type of milk – you can´t have to many options am I right – and I wanted to try the cashew milk but in fact I wasn´t ready to pay 7 Euro for one litre. This is insane expensive for just adding to your coffee. So I decided to try it myself.

I bought a pack of cashews and drove home.

The recipe is really simple. Step one is to put the needed amount of cashews into a bowl of water and let them soak for about 4 hours. I always take one cup so I have at least a little meassurement.
Afterwards you pour into a strainer to get rid of the water. Put your cashews into your blender, add water, I add two cups but this depends on how thick you like your creamer.
For flavor you can add a teaspoon of vanilla paste, or a table spoon of maple syrup or even agave syrup to add some sweetness.
Blend everything together and fill it into a glass jar. Whether you are taking one with a screw cap or a swing top use a funnel to avoid the spilling and the mess afterwards. I buy the bottles at our local drug store but they are available almost everywhere.

You can store the cashew creamer in your fridge for about 5 days so I would recommend smaller bottles if you are not a daily coffee drinker.
This might be the easiest recipe I have ever posted.
Are you guys also love to make things by your own instead of buying it?
Thanks for stopping by.  Take care. See you.

Food Friday – tuna tartelettes and rice….

pan Ikea similar here / kitchen towel Aldi similar here and here / spatula here / cutting board Ikea similar here

….

Hi guys,

(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)

and welcome to another Food Friday I hope you are hungry cause today´s recipe is awesome. Delicious, healthy, super quick and so easy.

I am a sucker for tuna so I was so happy when I found this tartelette recipe on Pinterest.

This is a one of a kind quick and easy meal with an addictive factor cause it is so so good.

Ingredients for the dough:
– 6 cans of tuna
– 2 purple onions chopped

– 2 eggs
– 3 cups of bread crumbs
– jalapenos
– lemon juice
 – chopped parsley

Top with:

– capers
– horseraddish

How to:
– mix all the ingredients together. Season with salt and pepper if you think it is necessary
– make small patties
– put olive oil into your skillet and heat up
– cook them on medium heat. be sure to turn them often since you don´t want to get them burned on one side
– serve with capers and horseraddish

Side dish:
I made some wild rice to the tuna tartelettes since I really adore rice and think this blends very well with the taste of the tuna.

You can add as many onions or jalapenos as you want to make it extra spicy.

Feel free to contact me if you want me to try anything else.
