Step by step party planning with Paperless Post….

….

Hello friends and happy Friday,
(post contains links/Werbung-Markenname, Verlinkung/Beitrag enthält Links-sponsored)
I love entertaining. Really love it so I am constantly searching an ocassion for hosting a party or a get together. Not so hard since there are many holidays throughout the year and many more possibilities for hosting a party. So for today´s post I decided to share a birthday table.

Set a date, an ocassion and a party theme:
I picked Florian´s birthday party which is in September. We also had a celebration for him last year but I wanted to follow a real party theme this year.

Pick an Invitation:
Paperless Post has so so so many different invitations for all kinds of parties, showers and even weddings. For our Mexican Fiesta theme I picked the Fiesta Frame invitation and started to customize it. Totally love the baby blue lines on the yellow backdrop. To make the yellow pop I went with a navy blue background. And aren´t the little glasses with the limes and the umbrella really make it work.

Another reason these paperless invitations are great is that they are only sent out online so you save paper and money on buying stamps and evelopes.

Decorate:
So for our Mexcian theme I got these little sombreros, matching napkins, a wooden cactus garland, some colorful pompoms to hang up and this adorable black metal cactus with a led-wire around it.

Make lists:
I am a list person. I always have a physical list in my hand (paper goes over everything here). I even make lists for my lists but that is another obsession. A grocery list is key for party planning. Also a guest list. It is much easier if you have a total number. Although I would add on about 4 to 5 people. You never know who suddenly changes his mind and running out of food is one of the worst case scenarios.

Prepare:
If you have to move the furniture or add some tables or chairs get this a day or two ahead done. This is additional stress you don´t need to have by planing it out right. Also get all the groceries you don´t need to be super fresh. Canned stuff and most vegetables or cheese are fine up to four days and more. Same for drinks and crushed ice. A extra drive just to get the drinks is much more relaxed and your car isn´t full with lots of bags. Same goes for kitchen utensils. Clean and prepare everything you need for serving, placing the food, drinks etc.

Timing:
Beginn earlier than you think is necessary. Having some time ahead to give it a final walkthrough or clean up some stuff already is gold. Also you should get dressed up too. Don´t forget about that. Happened on my first hosted big Christmas dinner. I changed about 10 minutes before the guests arrived and only had time for a quick make-up and hair fixture. Timing takes a little. It took me about 3 to 4 ocassions to find out what works best for me. It is also a different theme if you are serving a course menu where every dish should be on schedule or having a buffet.

All those tips help me a lot and make party planning easier but at the end of the day you have to figure it out by yourself. It also always depends on how much you have to do by yourself and how much help you have.

I hope your next party is going to be a total hit.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Hello friends,
(post contains affiliate links/Werbung-Markennennung/Post enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
I am a born host! I love to cook and serve meals. Love to walk around and make sure everyone has a cold drink in his hand. I´d rather run around and prepare and cook and clean the whole evening than sit around and chat for four hours straight. Don´t get me wrong. I am not aversed to making conversation and I think I can handle the small talk game very well it is just that I love to get everyone together to enjoy a homemade meal.

I have been on the home decor train for a long time and my latest color obsession without a doubt is blue. Ever since I finished recdecorating our living room in the most gorgeous blue hues I can´t get enough of it. And it works so good with many other colors.
Since our patio is done (view post here) we love to entertain outside. It has just such a nice summer vibe when you can have a BBQ at your own patio than having one at a restaurant.

The blue had to be part of our little dinner party so I tried to incorporate as much as possible without overdoing it. In my opinion it turned out pretty great.

For dinner I made focaccia and a mixed salad with yoghurt dressing and also grilled salmon which wasn´t quite ready as we took the pictures.

For the focaccia (flat baked Italian breakd similar to pizza):
Usually you only sprinkle it with salt, olive oil and rosemary but I added some prosciutto, onions, feta cheese and mushrooms (I simply bought the pizza dough and made it extra flat and without sauce).

The salad was the garnish for the salmon which is not picutred. It included lettuce, feta cheese and pine nuts. Also a bunch of homemade croutons and green olives. I made a yoghurt dressing for it including a cup of yoghurt, mustard, vingegar, vegetable stock and salad herbs. In fact you can´t do much wrong by playing around with the texture. I don´t like it super creamy but also not to watery.

Do you love hosting dinner or are you prefered on the guest side?
Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

….

Hi guys and welcome to another Wedding Wednesday post,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung – Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)
since you might now from my former posts I had my Bridal Brunch two Saturday´s ago. I invited all the girls and ladies which attend our wedding for brunch and also to get to know each other. Might have gotten some presents all well and I really don´t mind about that.

The theme was pretty clear from the invitations to the flowers and table scape and to the cake everything was pink, blush and rose with a touch of gold.

Since we are getting married in the fall and also Florian wasn´t that fond of the idea of pink accents at our wedding I went all in for this event.

The invitations really looked like I had imagined. Soft hues wiht florals around the text and blush on the back. This is a letter I would love to receive in the mail and not always plain white bills. I got them from kartenmacherei.de and they usually where save-the-date cards but since you can customize everything you can write on top what you like. I decided to go with round corners and the mother-of-pearl finish. They turned out so nice. I am glad I could save some for my memory wedding box.

Since I invited so many people and my living room is only capable of hosting 14 sitting people or 20 standing people I had to extend to the outside. Luckily the weather was alright so we also got some fresh air and more space. I stringed together 3 tables and covered them in white. Adding a rose sequin table runner immediately created a romantic look. So did the paper plates with the beautiful flower pattern. I wanted to have all of the tableware in plastic or cardboard so I could easily throw it into the gargabe afterwards. Even we are having a big dishwasher but this would have taken many loads to get cleaned up.
I devided the food and the drinks so people wouldn´t gather up in one corner and get stuck. The coffee table was covered with coffee, different juices and of course some bubbly.
Have you noticed the adorable flower arrangements on the table. They where made by Florian´s adorable mum. She is just the sweetest and so talented with all things flowery. The hydreangeas and roses came from her own garden. Also the smell of the flowers was incredible.

The buffet consisted of two tables I clothed with pink plastic ruffle table clothes to hide the hiddeous legs.
We had a sweet and a hearty side offering fresh watermelon, doughnuts, quark dish with berries, rice pudding with raspberry sauce and of course the most adorable cake I have seen in a while. A blush marzipan cake topped with flowers and melted golden colored white chocolate. My heart literally skipped a beat when I unpacked it for the first time. If you like this was the test run for our wedding cake cause it comes from the same cake shop.
The hearty side was covered in salmon burritos and fish filled croissants. Hearty miniature bundt cakes (recipe is coming soon) and a cheese board.

This couldn´t take place without the help of my adorable bridesmaids who helped get everything ready in the morning, the pretty flower bouquets Florian´s mom made and the delicous salmon burritos my mum contributed.

It was a really fun brunch and everyone was talking and interacting with the others and was getting to know eacht other just how I intended it. Now they are having another base when they are meeting again at the wedding in a month and can catch up.

We really are on the home straight to our wedding. My bachelorette weekend is starting tomorrow and Florian´s bachelor party is in two weeks and there is only his birhtday party on the 4th then and wohoo – our wedding.

Thanks for stopping by guys. Take care. See you.

Wedding Wednesday – DIY rustic wind lights for a fall wedding….

jute edging amazon / wind lights nanu nana small and large / leaves nanu nana / hot glue gun amazon / sand Depot /

….

Hi guys and happy hump day,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
the first half of the umcomfortable work week is over (although I stayed at home with a cold) and the weather is also getting better (after quite some thunderstorms and rain) so I have a lot of positivity going on here.

I am posting another Wedding Wednesday article today. Since we are going to do some of the decoration by ourselves – cause I couldn´t find anyting near my visions – I wanted to share this super easy DIY with you guys.

You might know that we are going to get married in the middle of September so I wanted a full fall themed wedding. I love fall. It is my favorite season and of course I wanted to get married during this time.

I have lots of orange, burgundy and pumpkins incorporated into the table decoration, the wedding cake and the flowers.

The main pieces you will need for this DIY are the windlights, candles, sand, the edging (I took 10 metres in jute with a white lace trim) and the leaves and of course a hot glue gun.

For glueing everything together I grabbed Simone, Florian´s sister and also a bridesmaid and we had a fun Friday afternoon with lots of glue eveywhere. This isn´t as easy as it seems.

But it worked and it is super easy. First of all I marked the glasses so that the edging would be in the same hight on evey wind light. Therefore I got a yellow removable overhead marker. Worked really good. After marking the glasses I cute the edging in the size we needed it. I have two types of glasses so there had to be longer and shorter bands of jute.

Then we started glueing. I have to admit I have never done anything with hot glue and I am also not very crafty so this was quite the challenge but I think it turned out very well. I really like them.

To make sure everybody gets the fall theme we also had some leaves in orange and burgundy and glued one onto each wind light.

The candles for the arrangements are all burgundy cause I just love this deep and rich fall color a lot.

I think they turned out pretty well and will hopefully look pretty on the dining tables.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.
