The Benefits of a Silk Pillow Case…

I recently got a silk pillow case for myself because I was looking at some sites how I could take better care of my hair and make it look more shiny and healthy and one thing I have read over and over again was to try a silk pillow case. So in my amazon cart it went.

I had mine for about two or three months now and thought I share my thoughts with you. 

Benefits of a Silk Pillow Case

– prevents your hair from getting dry and frizzy from all the tossing and turning at night

– shortens the drying time of your hair if you are going to bed with damp hair

– in my experience straight hair stays longer straight than on a normal pillow case which I think is a really great factor

– it is super cooling in the Summer months

– skin care products stay longer on your skin because silk is a non absorbent material

And of course there are a few small down sides too:

– silk pillow cases cost way more than your average cotton or jersey pillow case

– they need to be handwashed or washed in a gentle cycle with a with a special laundry detergent

I love my silk pillow case and will keep it for as long as possible. And Emilia also loves to sleep on it. I would say it has definitely helped with a super dry area of hair on the back of my head so that alone is the main reason for me to keep using it.

We always write of neutrals and how great they are plus how important it is to have a good set of neutrals in your closet as a basic wardrobe but what are neutrals?

Neutrals are colors that basically match with every other color/print in your wardrobe which is amazing cause this means you can never go wrong with throwing outfits together. Also it makes a great base in your wardrobe you can build up with high quality pieces and longlasting items.

Beige

That´s a year round favorite and pairs so well with all the bright colors of Summer, the pastels of Spring, the warm tones of Fall and the deep dark jewel tones and all the sparkles around Christmas and Winter time. You can not go wrong by adding pieces in this color to your closet.

Charcoral 

Not a color I usually wear cause to be honest blue or white is my preferred color for denim but it is a great alternative if you don´t want to go as as dark with black. Also the bootcut style is super flattering. Elongates the legs and slims the thighs. 

Blue Denim

A classic that will probably never go out of style. Whether the color nor the style. My shirt is a little oversized but still fits great into the whole look. I consider denim blue as a neutral cause most people wear a pair of denim almost everyday and style such different pieces with it.

 

Also are you in the current sweater vest trend? I kind of love but it also reminds me back at my time at school and this isn´t a very pleasant thought.

Christmas time can be very expensive. All the decorations, the social gatherings, the gifts to get, the parties/dinners to throw/attend and of course the perfect outfits for the holidays. It can get overwhelming really fast and pretty bad for our bank account but to be honest it doesn´t always have to be the biggest, most expensive item. Sometimes the little things are all a special person in your life needs. 

Thoughtful little gifts with a well known background for the receiver will have such a sentimental value you can not make up with money. Like a restock on your co-workers favorite hand lotion, or a pack of fancy socks for your gym partner who always wears mixed up socks. You get what I am saying right!!

Foggy Fall Picnic…

Who doesn´t love a picnic with lot´s of delicious things to eat and drink ??? And let me tell you something, it is definitely not restricted to Summer nor the weather. 

We had a short but sweet little picnic in the midst of a foggy morning and it definitely had its charm. I mean how cool does the fog look in the back of the picture.

If you want to do anything outside this time of the year warm clothing is the key or living in Florida would be another great possibility 😉

My favorite shoes for icey weather always have been and always will be UGG boots. I know opinions differ a lot about them but they are the only pair that keep my feet warm.
