after all the hurly-burly the last couple of week including birthdays, our wedding and our honeymoon I have finally found the time to read the books I have wanted for so long and also share my September reading list with you.
In fact I first wanted to read all the books I bought recently and review them in one huge book review but there is now ways I am gonna make it any soon and now is the time where – at least I do so – we have to/can spend much more time inside and cuddle up and read a book.
I do have a Kindle and I have to admit I don´t use it at all. I need a real book in my hand and I want my books where I can see them and that is a shelf in my office.
So for today I am reviewig four books I have currently read:
Girl on the Train // I feel like this is such a basic book everyone already read but I also included it into my round-up cause it was new to me. I didn´t watch the movie either but I have to admit I wanted to read the book before. Movies sometimes destroy a lot of your imagination (Harry Potter for example). The book was great and I would totally recommend it and read it all over. I loved the perspective of the writing. Picturing her before and after her actions and working up the things she forgot. Also sometimes it has been a little annoying to take a step back after she already moved on.
Behind Closed Doors // This was awesome. I would totally recommend it to everyone who loves a good crime book. It was exciting the whole time and kept me super suspicious with all the people in the book and the action they took. You never know who is wrong and who knows it all. Great until the end with a unexpected twist at the end.
The Last Mrs. Parrish // To be honest I just started this one but I think it is going to be interesting. It is about a girl who thinks she deserves a better live and wants to steel a husband from another women. So she manages to frequently show up in their lives. That is all I know from now but it´s all about lying and sheeming and I hope this is going to be a great thriller.
The Girl with no past // Oh boy. This was very hard to get into it. It is switching a lot between the past and the now but isn´t telling you anything you really want to know. But after reading through it came on pretty strong after finally knowing what has happened in the past.
These are all the books I have read from August and September (I wanted to read so much more but I think this has to wait until the evenings are dark and cold and I can stay inside without feeling guilty by not being outside). I have ordered about 6 new books with my last order so stay tuned there is going to come a lot of fall mystery your way.
it is, isn´t it?! Fall is in full season, leaves are changing, fog is hanging heavy over the meadows in the mornings, the air is crips and fresh. Oh I could go on with this for many more lines.
But let´s have a look at this traditional treat. I know that summer is officially over – for both weather and season – so making s´mores over a firepit isn´t quite possibly anymore. So this recipe is for all my summer missing readers and chocolate fanatics. Just transform your s´mores into a pie and serve for coffee time or after a homemade cooked meal.
It isn´t hard at all and doesn´t take to long and believe me the taste brings back those summer bonfire nights vibes.
So let´s get bakin´..
Ingredients:
for the crust
– I used full grain Leibnitz biscuits – 2 cups
– 1/2 cup butter
Maybe a little less or a little more of both, keep mixing up until it is sticky and make a great base for the crust
– (any sauce you like to drizzle it with for serving)
How to
– melt the butter and crumble the crust, stir together and push into your pie pan
– bake the crust for 10 minutes at 160 degrees
– add the heavy cream, milk and chocolate in to a sauce pan and let is melt slowly at medium heat
– add the eggs and vanilla and stir together
– pour the filling into your pie pan and bake another 20 minutes
– the filling should not wobble anymore by taking it out of the oven
– add marshmallows on top and again put it into the oven for about
– change menu to grill function and watch your cake (when the heat of the grill funtion kicks in it takes about 15 to 20 SECONDS until your marshmallows are ready) otherwise your topping is going to be burnt or on fire
– serve warm in the pan
– drizzle with sauce if you like
The weather is getting warm on the weekends (only in the afternoons) so this would be a great last possibilty to relieve those summer vibes

how adorable is this sunflower field in the background ?? So gorgeous.
From time to time I really love a fashionable but comfortable look and this really is one with its oversized embroidered cardigan and its wide leg pants. Lots of fabric and lots of space. Comfortable all day.
The pants are really wide leged and super high waisted which I totally love. It flatters the figure and creates a slimmer silhouette. Adding heels also isn´t too bad (I have to cause I am so small but maybe you could wear a pair of pointed flats to it).
I paired it with a bunch of my favorite pinkish hues going from a rosewood to a light berry shade. Since bakerboy caps are still super on trend (I have a whole bunch of different colors) I added one in blush.
Do you love combining trends in one look like I did here? The wide leg pants, embroidered cardigan and bakerboy hat.

these days everybody is strinving to get healthy, be healthy or stay healthy. I think this is a huge theme which needs to be covered here, cause we are all practicing self-care for every part of our body (like face creams and face masks and more skincare and haircare and manicures and pedicures etc.) so why not for the inside too.
First and foremost I have to say I am no doctor and don´t have any medical knowledge. I am just sharing this here cause in my opinion it has helped me a lot and I think you can´t do much wrong by taking daily supplements but if you have any intolereances be sure to check on that first.
So here is what I am taking:
Vitamin C // If you know my eating habits you know why I am taking these. I eat vegetables and fruit but I really don´t like much of them. Maybe eight out of hundreds which makes it really hard for my body to filter enough vitamins from the meals I eat. In my opinion there is nothing wrong in taking vitamin C supplements (also known as ascorbic acid). It mainly boosts you immune system and protects your blood cells from germs but also supports your body to filter the iron out of your food
Omega 3 // These are fish oil pill supplements and I have to admit my first thought was if they taste like fish I can´t take them cause this is just to gross for mornings. They don´t taste like anything at all. They open up in your stomach so I think you will never know how the inside tastes. I have read about these a few weeks ago at Jessi Afshin´s blog The Darling Detail. I always thought Omega 3 supplements were only to help your heart and also support yor cardiovascular system which isn´t bad either, I am just not in need of that now, but as it turns out they are perfect for hair growth and glowing skin too. So I am taking one a day.
Zinc // I am using these because my beautician who does my facials told me to take them in order to get clearer skin. I have a full skincare post coming up soon but I have some more questions for her first. She said that zinc would be amazing for acne troubled skin so I have been using the capsules for a while now and I think they really help. I have had two other apointments since my treatment started and she also admitted that my skin got a lot better. Taking two, one in the morning and one at night.
Biotin // This is the beauty vitamin (or also called Vitamin B7) and I have taken this for a long time now. I think almost two years. You body needs biotin to produce healthy nails, skin and hair and also to keep your nervous system in balance.
I am taking one a day.
Collagen Peptides // I recently started taking this and I am not sure quite now. I have seen that Katey from Chronicles of Frivolity let hers dissolve in her morning coffee but I just can´t do that. I am drinking it with water and a spritz of lemon juice which tastes quite good. It resolves totally and doesn´t taste strange at all. Not also is it a great support for your skin, hair and nails but it´s also supposed to help you with your joints. I do have shoulder issues on a regular base so this would be a great solution for me if this actually helps. But, yes there is a big BUT. Consistency is key here. I think you won´t notice a different if you are not complementing your collagen drink into your daily routine.
Same goes with all the other products as well. I have been taking them over a long period now and I start to notice a different in my skin (in combination with a lot of water intake everyday and a facial every month). In the end you have to try and find out what´s best for your body as everyone acts different (also this is in no way a recplacement for a healthy lifestyle).
Maybe I could help a little today in terms of getting healthier or staying healthy.
