Weekly Review #18…

This has been another week that was over in the blink of an eye. To be honest I am sure times flies faster than ever this year and Fall is approaching soon. We had a national holiday on Thursday and made a BBQ for our little family. Other than that our week has been pretty much like every other but stuffed with appointments. We had dancing lessons on Monday and I had Line Dance on Monday and Tuesday. Needed to take the car to the shop on Wednesday to change out the tires and swimming lessons started on Friday. There is no time for boredom left since Summer has started !!

MEALS

MONDAY – Pasta with meatballs – somehow Monday is always our pasta day. I really don´t know why. Maybe because it is quick to make inbetween appointments or it is something everyone likes.

TUESDAY – Asian Take-Out – IYKYK

WEDNESDAY – Snacks for dinner

THURSDAY – BBQ – We made steaks, corn, sausage and cheese on the grill and I made some stuffed rolls and green asparagus as side dishes in the kitchen

FRIDAY – Turkey salad – After the swimming lessons we took advantage of the restaurant at the swimming pool and had dinner there. Going to do so for the next 9 lessons

SATURDAY – BBQ – Another BBQ this time with our closest friends and their kids. We made nearly the same but my friend brought an Italian noodle salad and a watermelon feta salad as well. We had so many leftovers that we will for sure be eating this until Monday next week 🙂

SUNDAY – Chicken stew at my in-laws house. This is my favorite dish. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life THIS would be eat. She makes a mean stew with the most tender chicken meat. We eat it with nockerl which are  made from semolina, flour and butter.

FASHION

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this week until we had a huge thunderstorm Saturday night and since today it is quite cold. Not even cool, just cold. The weather forecast says it is going to stay like this until the end of next week.

ACTIVITIES

Swimming lessons for our big girl started on Friday and I must say I wasn´t quite sure how she would do but I think she is going to manage this very well. There are 5 kids per teacher and she has mastered the first lessons great. We are taking all three girls with us cause the others can splish around with my husband and I am going to the lessons with her. I have packed just the must-haves and nothing special but with three kids going swimming the trunk was nearly full.

MISC

I had two coffee dates this week. One on Wednesday with my adorable baby while we waited for our car and one on Friday with both little girls at Dunkin´s. I just love the excitement of my girl picking out a donut. It is always a pink one with sprinkles or marshmallows, but she is still so happy about it every time.

Weekly Review #17….

This week has been quite busy. We had a day trip on Tuesday and also a weekend away in the Bavarian forest. I love to plan little trips and find out about cool things to do there that aren´t on your average to-do list. We also had two sad family emergencies but I couldn´t cancel anything cause I didn´t want to worry the girls. Sometimes it is hard being an adult.

MEALS

MONDAY – Easter Brunch leftovers

TUESDAY – Pullman City western food

WEDNESDAY – Pasta with meatballs

THURSDAY – Chinese take-out – I know I write this every week but we love our Chinese food and it helps me out a lot on days I can´t / won´t cook

FRIDAY – Pasta and Chinese leftovers

SATURDAY – Steak and potatoes – a classic that both of my girls love as well. One will eat mainly steak and the other one only potatoes. Toddlers am I right?!

SUNDAY – Asparagus casserole – on Sundays we are always at my in-laws for lunch at my MIL cooks the most delicious hearty dishes

FASHION

I really love the slip skirt trend and I have finally gotten myself one. I thought a Black one would fit nicely to style many outfits and I was not wrong. Styling it casually with a t-shirt and adidas sneakers. Other than that I am continuing to wear dresses cause we have finally entered Summer weather temperatures.

ACTIVITIES

We went to Pullman City on Tuesday and it was the perfect day for it. Sunny and warm but not too hot. I have had so much fun dressing us all up in western styles. The girls went pony riding and also made leather bags for their gemstones. We had baked potatoes and ribs and of course ice cream and it was a great day for all of us. I got myself a pair of new cowboy boots and two line dance shirts.

My husband and I went on a two day trip into the Bavarian forest from Friday to Saturday to get some time together and rest a little as well. Our lives have been very stressful the last couple of weeks. His mostly with work and mine with lots of family issues. We only took our little baby with us but she is still sleeping several times a day so this wasn´t  at all. We took lots of walks and did some fun „sightseeing“. I picked a hotel with an indoor pool so we could use the afternoon to wind down and also take advantage to go swimming cause the weather was so bad. The girls spent the night at their grandma´s and had a blast.

MISC

We visited my SIL on Tuesday. She lives downtown and the girls just love her but it isn´t always easy to get there. Paring is non-existent and the city is full of distractions and I am always on high alert when I am alone with all three kids in big crowds. So glad she is moving soon. I dropped of the girls at her place and got some shopping for several ocassions done.

I have been organizing and getting rid of things like crazy the last week and I feel a lot better, like I can breathe again.

Weekly Review #16…

This week leading up to Easter has not been less busy than the last four weeks. Although all our afternoon activites have been paused cause we are on Easter break but it was still pretty busy around here. I have never been so late planning my Easter brunch foods or even my table decor but there have been so much more pressing matters that it just fell right of the table until a few days before.

MEALS

MONDAY – Tomatoe soup – if I don´t know what to cook this will always be my number one food

TUESDAY – Pasta with ham and cheese  simple but a family favorite

WEDNESDAY – left overs

THURSDAY – Chinese Take-Out – I usually have a Thai curry, little spicy with lots of veggies, rice and chicken

FRIDAY – Salmon and broccoli – we do not eat meat on the Friday before Easter so salmon is our first choice when it comes to fish

SATURDAY – Easter Brunch at our house

SUNDAY – Easter brunch at my in-laws house – we have been so full both days that we didn´t need any dinner for ourselves

FASHION

Spring outfits still going strong. Can´t tell you how much I have missed those easy, breezy days with warm winds and sunshine. Easy to get dressed and not freeze to death outside.

ACTIVITIES

The girls have been at home all week because of the Easter break so we played a lot. Built up Playmobil worlds full of mermaids or whimsical forests with fairies and unicorns. I just love this age. They are so creative and their imagination is mind blowing.

Between playing at home and going on a few playdates I had some prep to do for our annual Easter brunch on Saturday. The table scape turned out so cute with the carrot table runner and the orange place mats. At first I thought they wouldn´t match cause the burnt orange is such a classic Fall shade but I thought it looked amazing. I have done so many tablescapes over the years but still love to think of new ones every ocassion I get.

MISC

Since we are a lot of families thrown together everyone got their own day to host Easter (as well as Christmas). Mine has always been the Saturday before Easter Sunday and I do not have a problem with it. In fact it is quite convenient, cause if you find out that there is something missing you can run to the store real quick and grab it.

FASHION

It is finally warm enough to wear dresses round the clock. I have so many I love and it has been hard for me to decide which one to wear but those are champagne problems right?!

ACTIVITIES

We have been outside so much the last week cause it was finally dry and warm and why not make some chalk art. I love how creative my little girls are and how they love to draw.

MISC

I have started the week with a doughnut run because why not !! And it turned out to be the right thing cause it has been a very long week. Our garden flowers started to bloom in their fullest and it is so beautiful. Spring makes the prettiest colors.

We celebrated Easter a little early in our mom group and I made an easy no crust cheesecake topped with pistachios and strawberries. It was delicous and everyone loved it. Going to share the recipe soon.
