we are only a short time away from all the important holidays so it is officially family photo season. Every year after posting our family pictures I get asked how I plan matching looks in advance and I am finally able to share my tips and tricks and how to not get stressed out at all.
Choose a background
Set a date way in advance and then you can easily choose a background. We are having our shoot in Ocotber so this is going to be all Fall. If you are shooting at the end of November or in the beginning of December and there is snow already you can take this Winter wonderland as a backdrop. And you can always shoot in front of great architecture or buildings no matter the weather. Make sure to plan this and talk to your photographer to make it fix and this will save you a lot of stress.
Choose a color theme
Now on to the clothing. I like to choose my color theme on two conditions. The background for the photos and also the colors which are on trend at the time. I always start with my pieces and select all the other clothing around it. I therefore like to shop at platforms and online shops that carry women´s, men´s and children´s clothing and in my case also cute pullovers for dogs.
So for this shoot I planned on wearing olive green and mustard. I personally like the color combination and the flower pattern of the dress very much and that is the piece I choose for myself. After that I started to research if the site carries men´s clothing in the same color combinations. The H&M site also had great pieces in same color theme from the children´s section. Not needing these at the moment but probably very soon.
My online shop of choice for these kind of ocassions is H&M. It is super easy to shop all the different sections online and also by putting a filter on all the color and price options.
