Happy Friday guys,

I finally have another Food Friday post for you today. I have been kind of undecided by what to share in terms of recipes. I have cooked a bunch of Crock Pot recipes but want to try out some more before posting my review. So in honor of the first big upcoming holiday I decided to make these fun Halloween inspired sugar cookies with royal icing.
The reason I have decided to use royal icing for my cookies is that other than frosting it dries hard and doesn´t smear all over the other cookies.
I have never worked with royal icing before. It wasn´t to hard but you definitely have to get adjusted to working with it and it´s also a time race as it starts to get hard the minute you stop stiring. I got a big package of white royal icing and colored it with Wilton Icing Color – these are my favorites. I bought a whole set including a ton of different colors. The colorful lines on the bats and smaller pumpkins are made of chocolate. I got different colored chocolate pens to draw on the cookies. And since it is made of chocolate is cool very quickly and doesn´t smear.
The sugar cookie recipe is from Rachel Parcell´s blog Pink Peonies and it is enough for plenty of cookies. It is enough to make about 6 to 7 batches.
This is my Halloween contribution for this year. I wanted to make a really cool and spooky drink for you guys but just haven´t had the time to figure something out. But I will definitely have one for you next year.

Have a great weekend you guys. See you on Monday.
