Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
before we moved into our house I have never had to take care of a garden before. I had plenty of space on my patios but in fact there wasn´t much more to to than watering the plants and that was it.
Now there is so much more space to cover and to take care of. I really do not have a green thumb. My mom has. Totally. She could plant anything and it would grow. It really is unbelievable. I do admire this and at the same time I don´t know why I can´t do it. Fortunately Chloe drinks by herself so she won´t dry up.
Although I love flowers they don´t love me back and I am always aware that they will only last a few weeks but I have came pretty far this summer with a few tricks and I must say I am almost proud of myself.
We have a beautiful garden center only about 15 minutes away from our home. It is huge and full of the prettiest flowers and decoration items for your garden you could imagine. They also have a huge candle section and also lots of decoration pieces for your wedding table.
But let´s get back to our garden. Here are a few things I have learned:
– drill holes in the bottoms of your planters(unless they already have some), the surplus water has to get out somewhere for example you are watering your plants and it raings afterwards, or they are literally drowning
– don´t water your blooming plants from above, always from aside since the blossoms don´t like to get wet at all
– when you are changing plants in your planter be sure to change the soil cause also plants need nutritions and can´t life from plain soil
– don´t forget to water them appropriately (don´t when it is going to rain, otherwise every day or even twice if it super hot)
– make sure to put your plants where they want to be, some plants need sunlight and others prefer the cooler shadow areas to grow
To create different areas in your garden and also some different spots I would say go as you like. Things don´t have to match properly in color or shape. Most of my planters are different and that was absolutely intent. We also added some light fixtures like the different round solar lamps and the hemisphere solar lamp and also the flamingo whose eyes are glowing in the dark.

Ich mag Gartenarbeit auch total gerne, die Bilder sind wirklich toll 🙂 Ich habe da zum Glück ein wenig mehr Glück beim pflanzen. Bei mir halten die Pflanzen länger als ein paar Wochen. 😀
