I just love a great organization hack but to be honest this wasn´t really necessary until it was. I have a very cute little toddler who obviously loves to play the floor is lava and she used all of our board game and puzzle boxes to set up her game and jump from box to box. She not only slipped and fell but also destroyed all the cardbord boxes to a maximum so it was time for a solution.
Space Saving Ways to store your Child´s Board Games and Puzzles
I have used these mesh bags for years now for different things to store. The girl´s birthday keepsake, documents, pencils and books for restaurant visits and now also our puzzles and games.
The mesh bags are available in 3 sizes and I have used all of them this time. I cut out the front of the cardbord boxes where you can see which game or puzzle it is and I also include the manual of the games. I is super easy to organize and also very space saving. We now have so much more space without the bulky boxes plus it is easy to open and close for the girls.
Easy but very effective hacks. The mesh bags are from SheIn and super affordable as well. You can shop them here.
We had a few days of Winter with snow but it does not stop us from dressing cute am I right ladies?! I just love a cute sweater / skirt combo and therefore we have tights.
Pleated mini skirts made a huge comeback the last year and still are an important piece of fashion. I have paired this adorable pleated pinstriped mini skirt with a creme colored cardigan. This cardigan is one of the few things I have in 3 colors. That is how much I love it.
In German Winters you can´t go without tights so a pair of navy tights it was. For outerwear I love a coat in the Winter. I know there are lots of adorable puffer jackets out there but I don´t like the cold around my lower back and butt.
I definitely have a love/hate relationships with short skirts. Definitely prefer them in the Fall and Winter time cause with tights I do not feel naked and I also always think that I am to old for mini skirt although I am not that old and this look might proof that I can still wear them as well.
As far as shoes go I did not have the biggest choice that day cause the weather was just too bad so I went with a pair of creme colored lug boots (probably my most worn shoes this year cause I just like a lighter colored boot way more than a black one) and I think it turned out really cute.
Navy blue is such an underrated color but it does look great paired with so many other colors or even in a monochrome look. I also think it does such a lot of people more than black cause it isn´t as harsh and dark.
I hope you have had a great start into the new year. I for myself can´t complain. We went to bed right after the fireworks and had a restful night. The first walk around the neighborhood on New Years Day is the most calm of the whole year. Most people are still asleep or still out and about. We didn´t do anything at all on NYE, made pulled beef, spinach dip and got a delicious bread. This is our yearly tradition. On the 1rst of January we always visit my in-laws for some chili at night. The sky this night has been amazing. I have never seen a pink and purple sky before. It was like a sign from above that this is going to be a great year.
Christmas break was really fun and filled with lots of activities and family time but we are ready to get back to normal life with Kindergarten and schedules or at least I am.
Anyways I wanted to start my Weekly Review series again. I was a pretty beloved series I have startet last January but I got pregnant and only made it to #8 before I was always sick each and every day and after that it was pretty much surviving with two toddlers at home.
Meals
WEDNESDAY – We had Chili for dinner at my in-laws. I don´t know the chili recipe my MIL is using but I love this one and the best is that you can throw it into your slow cooker and it is done when you get home.
THURSDAY – was leftover day. Some potatoes, meat and different sausages had to go so we made roasted potatoes and added all the other ingredients to it.
FRIDAY – It was take-out pizza day cause I have been cleaning and putting away Christmas all day and was too tired too cook.
SATURDAY – Homemade tomatoe soup. I always cook the same soup you can view the reicpe here.
SUNDAY – Beef stew at my in-laws house.
Fashion
Since I have started #nospendjanuary I am still sharing outfit inspo but I only might be able to links some of the newer pieces, if they are still in stock.
Activities
To be honest with all the days off and winter break time really flies by. All the kids are at home and need constantly something so the days fly by. It was snowing the last two days so the bigger kids were able to build little snowmen and go sliding but that was quite it. This week included lots of playtime at home and also at grandma´s house.
Misc
Although I am not buying anything this month I wanted to share that H&M is having a huge sale with lots of pieces up to 70% on sale.
Quote of the Week
„We don´t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges“
Red has been huge the whole season not only because of Christmas but because it is one of the biggest color trends of this and next year. I personally love Red and wear it a lot so I am definitely glad that there are lots of pieces in one of my favorite colors.
20 Ways to wear Red
Red immediately adds that perfect pop of color to your look. No matter how you decide to wear this trendy color – for example like a whole monochrome look, a pant, skirt or turtleneck or just a touch of Red like a scarf, a handbag or a pair of shoes. A Red lips also always helps if you need to add some color and freshness to your look.
