After the cold and long Winter I just crave color. That is a fact. I love how black and white and neutral outfits look but I often need more than that. A splash of color, a fun colorful print or a vibrant hue.

This super cute striped knitted sweater ttally fits the bill. It has all the colors I have been loving lately. Also I got this denim midi skirt in the mail a few weeks ago. What do you think about this trend ? I personally love that they are back. I had a gorgeous one about 15 years ago and always was sad that I didn´t have it anymore.

I picked a colorful modern western styling for my skirt. I added my brown cowboy boots and it gave the look so much flair. Since the weather is still inbetween all I find myself wearing lately are sneakers so I was really happy by choosing my boots cause they looked amazing with the midi denim skirt.

Regensburg Guide – Stadtamhof, Old Town Bridge, Salzstadl and Wurstkuchl…

Old Map from Regensburg from hundreds of years ago with the city wall still intact

Welcome to another guide to our beloved city. I am breaking it down into a bunch cause I want it as detailed as possible for you which requires lots of text and photos.

If you are up for breakfast already you can read all about it in my Regensburg Brunch and Breakfast Guide.

Stadtamhof

We have started our way on the outer part of the city centre, a small part of the city called Stadtamhof. The main street of Stadtamhof offers lots of restaurants and cafés as well as a rainbow row of buildings. You can enter through a old arch made of thick stone and immediately see all of the colorful buildings. Over the cobblestone streets you can walk right towards the Old Town Bridge. In the Summer month Stadtamhof is very crowded and lots of people wait on line to eat in the small authentic restaurants so I would recommend go there early or off-season cause this is not pleasant at all.

Old Town Bridge

Walking onto the old town bridge brings you one step closer to the city centre. It has been there since the 12th century and connects Stadtamhof with the old part of the city. It was the only connection into the city for a long time but since there is no city wall anymore you can get to the old town from various sides. There is a tale that the builders of the big cathedral and the old town bridge had a competition going on about who finishes first which also involved the devil. Really interesting to read.

Wurstkuchl

This is the world´s oldest restaurant which sells sausages like this. You can sit outside right by the river Danube and enjoy a pair of bratwurst with sauerkraut and mustard and have an ice cold beer with it. Very delicious and typical for our city. But to be honest it can get very crowded here and you probably won´t find many locals cause it is expensive compared to other places. The sausages taste really really good and the view is amazing but it comes with a price.

Salzstadl

Right at the end of the bridge and besides the Wurstkuchl is the Regensburger Salzstadl and as the name already tells was the in 1616 built Salzstadl´s use mainly to store salt. It is a beautiful building which´s entrance is right under a big arch. I love the striped shutters and the overall look of the building. You can see it from afar and it is such a landmark of the city.

Nowadays you can visit the building and learn more about the history and it can also be rented for weddings and other festivites which wasn´t always the case. Sitting right by the lake has its perks but also can go horribly wrong. The Salzstadl has been flooded so many times I am sure people have lost count already. The inside is below river height so when the river rises from rain it doen´t even take long.

All of these sights are free to visit (you just pay for the food at the Wurstkuchl, if you want to try it) which is important too when you are out exploring a new city. It can become a lot of fees quickly at many other places but in my opinion Regensburg is a great place to see a lot of things and pay less.

5 Pieces that´ll add more Elegance to your Daily Style…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

I have always loved browsing looks on Pinterest or Instagram and somehow I always like the elegant looks the most. Muted colors, expensive materials and timeless pieces so I wanted to incorporate some of them into my daily looks cause although I have too little children it doesn´t mean I can´t look polished.

Shoes

I would say a black or nude pointed toe heel is a super elegant shoe and works with literally everything but to be honest the days where I wear these everyday are over (at least for now) cause chasing after two little kids with high heels is just not possible so I got the defused version. A black pointed toe ballet flat and also a nude pair of sling back flats.

Bags

Some bag styles are the epitome of a elegant and classic look for me. If you want to invest in a luxury version I would suggest to go with a color that fits most of your outfits. Beige, cognac brown or black are the basics but if you wear a lot of muted colors you could probably add a red bag as well for a pop of color since red is such a timeless color. A sturdy bag that stands on its own is always a more elegant than some kind of slouchy bag. The shape is also very important. A Lady Dior, Birkin or Kelly Bag for example are the the most elegant I could think of. For a shoulder bag Chanel always comes to my mind but if you can´t invest that much I would suggest Tory Burch. They also have super elegant and similar pieces for a fraction of the price.

Coats

A trenchcoat is a very classic piece to wear and immediately adds a huge amount of sophistication to your look. It is a piece that thas been around for many years and will go nowhere for the next centuries. Even the top designer of the world have never grown old of the trenchcoats in their lines. Mine is fromH&M and far from high fashion but I still feel very polished when I wear it. If you are more on the sporty side I would say go with a quilted jacket (no hood) in a subtle color or a thin wool coat in a straight cut and a blazer collar.

Shirts

There is nothing that can beat a white blouse. Literally nothing. A white blouse always looks classy and fresh. You look dressed with a white blouse and are for many ocassions. I always long for a white blouse when I just don´t know what to wear and it has never failed me. There are many many styles out there which explains why I have gathered quite the collection. I have some oversized and longer pieces, fitted and shorter ones, ones with huge collars or a subtle print.

Jewelry

Jewelry should be subtle. No elegant, sophisticated high society lady has ever worn dozens of huge golden and diamond studded necklaces and huge blingy watches where your arms get tired of the weight. A classic and small watch it is. Often times even with a leather bracelet in an elegant color like black, cognac brown, oxblood or a dark forest green. For earrings I would suggest small diamond studs, golden hoops (not to big) or pearls. It is about versatility here.

Do you have a favorite to add to your daily outfits ? The easiest might be the bag and classic jewelry
