Weekly Review

It was Winter break this week and it was optional to let them go to Kindergarten or not. I decided to keep them home but regretted it by Monday morning 9 0´clock already. They woke up and started bickering the whole time. I was so nerve wrecking. I made a huge baked pancake and after that the bad mood went away but I have to admit I almost called their Kindergarten to ask if they could come in for the rest of the week.

What we ate

Monday Since the girls have been on Winter break I have made a big batch of oven baked pancakes Monday morning and we had leftovers also for lunch.

TuesdayI tried a „salad“ of chickpeas and salmon topped of with spices and cream cheese. I wanted to have a kind of meal for me cause when the girls are at home I am constantly snacking with them and not eating to loose weight.

WednesdayFish and potatoes. I have found air fryer potatoes and they are cooked through especially quick and get very crispy. Yeah to that. The girls love salmon so I always so a mix of salmon and baked fish.

ThursdayPotoatoe soup

FridayTortellini Casserole with ham, cheese and heavy cream sauce

Saturday – I made a fresh loaf of bread and and a spinach dip to eat at night. This combo is my absoulute definition of comfort food.

SundayWe had Pasta Bolgnese at my MIL´s and she also made a huge cheese cake. It was so flavorful and delicious.

What I wore

It was Denim Week on my Closet Challenge and girls I nailed it. I loved every look with the one piece of denim I added. Might have enjoyed this week the most so far.

What we did

Still in carnial mode this week. We had two more festivities (luckily on the same day) and then I was able to wash and pack the costumes away.

I usually have one day during the week were I can get all of my errands done, but a whole new load of snow and an accident on the road made it impossible so I had to reschedule and get back home cause traffic was unbearable. But nothing an ice coffed from Dunkins and a little Taylor Swift couldn´t fix.

Sometimes I wish I had to write a little more interesting things for you guys but in the end this is just like a little journal for myself so I can remember things we did or that happened. I have done a lot of cleaning this week so nothing too note worthy. Hopefully the weather stays great next week and gets a little warmer cause it makes me so excited for all the acitivites piled up.

We sadly have finished Yellowstone and I think I am going to rewatch it. I just love the wide open nature scenes, the horseback riding and of course the cowboy style so much. Currently we are watching Griselda and it is not bad but I just can´t get into it yet. We´ll see.

Flower have started to bloom and I really can see the end of the long and cold Winter tunnel. We have also had many sunny days in a row so it clearly is getting better.

Meals

I am very proud of myself for cooking so much homemade meals this week. Currently patting myself on the shoulder:

Tomatoe soup and grilled cheese

Brokkoli and schnitzel

Scrambled eggs with sausage, hot sauce and roasted onions

Bruschetta

Strammer Max (a piece of bread with ham, a sunny side up egg and melted cheese on top)

Fashion

Coats get lighter and everything else as well. I have so many cute and colorful pieces I want to wear over the next few weeks. Yes to bright Spring colors.

Activities

Was in very high spirits cause the week has been so nice but on the weekend it was still pretty cool and would have been too cold for the girls to be out for hours so we split our time between indoor playing and taking fresh air breaks in the garden.

Misc

I started reorganizing my dressing room this week to maximize space, to organize my Summer clothes so I can see what I still have and fits and overall to get rid of things I won´t wear anymore. This time of the year I always get in such a Spring deep cleaning, organizing and purging mode. Just want to start the new season fresh and organized.

Another week has just flown by. There have been things in this week that could have easily been a few weeks away. I just don´t know how fast time flies these days. It is mind blowing and it probably will get worse when Spring and Summer with all its activities starts.

Meals

I have done pretty well on the meal front this week. Finally made a meal plan again and cooked strictly what it said

Steak and potatoes

Potatoe soup

Pulled pancakes with applesauce

Beef wraps

Greek meat and rice in pita bread

Activities

It was a nice week with unusual warm temps for February so we went on a couple of longer walks and to the playground and we also headed out to a little day trip with the girls to get in some culture and cake. My favorite pairing.

We also had a Valentine´s Day date at home cause we didn´t have the nerve to go out and it was really nice. The steak was delicous.

Also we had one last carnival party for the kids until next year. My two little fairies dance the afternoon away.

Misc

Frozen birthday party planning has officially started this week. I had an appointment to order the cake and I also got some party decor now I need a little more and cute things for the kids goodie bags. So so excited !!!

Weekly Review #6…

To be honest the last couple of weeks have been pretty boring and I would bore myself reading this but if you had our weather you too just wouldn´t know what to do. It is still to cold and gloomy to stay outside for a long time and there are not many things to do indoor.

We had some carnival parties we couldn´t go to cause the kids have been sick so we tangle from week to week hoping it will get better soon. At some point all the toys are boring and the girls just want to go outside.

Meals

I have patted myself on the shoulder last week for cooking two meals (and having leftover too). Started meal planning again for the next so I can finally get into my groove again. Something just threw me off and I couldn´t get back into my daily cooking. I just didn´t know what to cook cause they girls despised everything and it was all so much work cooking with two toddlers but I think things are gonna change around here.

Hot Dogs – was a huge hit with my husband, the girls only ate the sausage

Hamburger Helper – was a huge hit with the kids, they even ate the leftovers the next day

Fashion

This might have been the last week I am wearing Winter looks. The temperatures will be up to 15 degrees for the most of the next week so I am definitely getting my Spring wardrobe ready to wear. I love layering but I definitely prefer a lighter layer at this point and shoes that are not boots.

Activities

We had our carneval themed Line Dance party on Saturday and we had lots of fun dancing and admiring all the other costumes. The deers with one hunter have been the best group costume.

Today was my MIL birthday and she made this gorgeous cake. It was huge and delicious.
