3 Tips on how to avoid killing your indoor plants…

I truly have become a plant lady over the years. If you took a look in my living room about 10 years ago you would not find a plant at all and at best some dried up ones on the balcony. I have gone through trial and error and I think I can finally keep the plants I have in my home alive.

There really is no witchery to it. For me it is following the rules and plan which has kept my plants alive. Of course I have lost some down the road but I have never had indoor plants as long as I had my current ones.

How to keep your indoor plants alive

Stick to a watering schedule

Now during Winter times your plants won´t need as much water as during the heat of the Summer months (at least ours don´t cause we do not pump up the heat like crazy indoors – this might be different for everyone). I water all of the plants once a week and let the orchids and the succulents sit in the sink with clear cold water for about an hour.

Dust the leaves once a month

This has been a total game changer in my opinion. Plants absorb sun light and all their needed nutritions through their leaves so if they are super dusty they can not successfully „breeze“ and get worse over time. You would not believe how much dust leaves are collecting. A soft microfiber cloth is all you need and it is reusable.

Location, location, location

For your indoor plants this isn´t as important as for real estate but I would at least put them somewhere near their desired location and not in the opposite direction.

As a bonus you can add some fertilizer to the potting soil every once in a while.

Helena´s Baptism…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

I am finally coming around to share the details of our little girl back in November. But shortly after the holiday craziness started and we had been pretty sick the majority of December.

Anyways let´s start with Emilia´s baptism. It was as girly as can be. I had everything – from the cake to the flowers, the candles and the party favors in a light pink shade. I was fulfilling my wildest girl dreams and it looked amazing. You can read all about Emilia´s Baptism here.

For Helena´s baptism I wanted eucalyptus to be the main plant and color. I always start with the invitations with a color and theme I would like. But you can read more about How I plan Family Festivities here.

My MIL made the flower bouquets and to be honest these are the most beautiful I have ever seen. The really put a florists work to shame. I wanted to go big with 5 flower bouquets cause flower elevate the table decor much more than anyhting else. Of course sequins shouldn´t be missed when I am hosting so I got these pretty emerald table runner from etsy.

The hardware around like white etagérès, the cupckae stand and the golden candle holder are all from amazon and frequently used in our home.

Cake and cupcakes have been so so good. I always order them from a café called Orlando di´Lassi in Regensburg. I will never go back cause the inside tastes as good as the outside looks.

The next family party I am planing is Emilia´s birthday, but it will be a little harder this year cause I can not pick the theme I would like. We´ll see.

How to decorate your Christmas Tree…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate LInks-not sponsored)

It is the most wonderful time of hte year and what makes it even more pretty – an amazing twinkling and glittering whimsical Christmas tree in your house. It makes it more homes and also adds to that special pre-Christmas feeling.

The Christmas tree is the heart of our home during Christmas time and every day I can not wait to light it up when it gets dark outside in the evenings.

There are several ways to decorate your tree and and I am sharing how I do it today as well as the items I am using. Our tree is from Fairy Trees and I have ordered it off of amazon. It is the flocked tree in 180 cm.

How I decorate our Christmas tree…

– first of all I put it together and fluff it out as much as possible / I am looking from different angles so I can find every area that still needs fluffing

– after that I vaccum cause the flocked trees loose a lot of artificial snow each year

– then I am putting the tree skirt under

– now it is time to decorate / I start with my ornaments

– followed by my garland (if I had a super long garland in one piece I would put the garland onto the tree before the ornaments put these are just pieces I drapped over in the front of the tree)

– now I am adding special ornaments like the pink glitter poinsettias and the glitter bows and the tree top

– the lights are the last thing I clip onto the tree and then I am ready to celebrate it
