it finally looks like Summer these days. We have been spending most of the weekend outside which means I have to catch up on blog work and house work today but us girls are on our own today so will see how much we get done.
The color of the year is Classic Blue and as much as I love me a blue shade I have to admit it isn´t as present as I would want it to be. Lavender yes and lots of beautiful green shades. A vibrant green is my color of the year. I got several beautiful pieces and keep finding lots of them in almost every online shop.
I was so looking forward to warmer weather as I love pairing print shirt with soft jersey pencil skirts. A style that looks put together but is also super comfortable and especially post delivery this is all you want. Easy no brainer styles to wear outside of your house.
Since it wasn´t to warm I styled it with a pair of Converse sneakers but it would also look lovely with espadrilles or sandals.
In the 90´s known as Canadian Tuxedo a double denim combo is again instyle. I personally didn´t like it in the beginning but I am a fan now. You can totally dress it up or down which I didn´t think was possible.
For my “Canadian Tuxedo” style I have worn a dark jeans with a light denim shirt but not buttoned, as I paired it with a cute print shirt underneath.
To combine it with a pair of sneakers would have been my everyday go-to style but worn with a pair of white satin mules it definitely looks chic.
My style has definitely changed since being quarantined but I am trying to dress up as often as possible. With restrictions being lifted it gets easier to go somewhere but it still is kind of strange wearing masks as entering a store and also not being able to meet with people.
Are you a fan of all over denim or just one piece per look?
I love testing out new trends whether it is fashion or beauty. It is just so amazingly interesting getting a new product and learn everything about it. So for today´s blog post our theme is hair styles to be more specific – how to crimp your hair.
Crimped hair has been all the rage about 15 years back and I did not see this coming back in style but I have to admit I like it more than I anticipated.
For prepping I have been using the ghd heat protection spray and to finish up my style I love the Elnett Professional Hairspray.
The hair crimper is from Rowenta and has three different settings for different sizes of curls. The heating goes up onto 240 ° C degrees. It is under 40 Euro and I think the price is great for the product.
It is a huge tool and I really had to get used to using it cause it is a little unhandy but after some practice it is quite managable.
How I crimp my hair
First of all I make different sections and apply my heat protecting spray. Afterwards I start with the lowest layers and crimp upwards. For crimping it is best to take thin streaks. It holds best this way and in my hair which is usually curly for about 4 to 5 days which is pretty great in my opinion.
It takes about 3o to 40 minutes to crimp my hair which is quite the long time but to be honest since my hairstyle holds this long I don´t mind. Also practice makes you faster. I haven´t used the crimper that often but have really gotten into it lately.
The most important step is to not comb it when you are done styling. Only use your fingers or it will get super frizzy and bushy. Combing works best from day 3 to the end on when you still have nice waves but your hair is heavier cause it isn´t as fresh anymore.
Are you styling your hair during quarantine time or do you wear it in a top knot or ponytail?
you may have noticed that since the weather became warmer I am wearing t-shirts on a daily basis. I have never been much of a t-shirt and jeans gal but this has changed drastically cause now I am crazy for all kinds of band shirts, graphic shirts, print shirts and more. There almost isn´t one plain shirt without any kind of print left in my closet.
This cute guitar print t-shirt is another amazon find and isn´t it the coolest. The colors are so beautiful and bright. I got a size medium and it is also comes in black, blue and gray.
Having so many different colors in a print makes it super easy to combine with matching pieces like the orange cardigan I am wearing above.
I am going to share my hair crimping tutorial tomorrow so if you are interested to try a new hairstyle make sure to check back. We probably won´t have this much time for new things ever again.
