Happy Friday my baking loving friends,

Valentine´s Day is right around the corner and if you are in need for some sinful and delicious little treats you are very welcome at my blog. I am always on the hunt for cute little sweetmeats and I think I have done pretty well the last two weeks. Have you checked out last weeks post about the best red velvet cupcakes I have made with vanilla frosting. In my opinion they are perfect for Valentine´s Day as well as rose colored raspberry macarons which are so light in texutre it is like you are eating a cloud.

The Recipe

I used the recipe from Lauren Gray´s blog as I wanted to try them so badly but haven´t found a simpler recipe anywhere else. It really is easy to make macarons so don´t shy away from it cause it looks super hard. I got the macarons baking mat from amazon and it really helped a lot in terms of sizing and shaping the macarons but I think in general it isn´t necessary. Just make sure you follow every step and not matter what happens sift the confectioners sugar otherwise it will get super lumpy and it won´t be the same. Also in terms of coloring you should use THE BEST food color I have found.

So for the recipe, I used ground almonds instead of the almond flour cause I didn´t want to buy a whole package for one recipe and I also had no raspberry extract so I left that away.

For the filling I mixed up butter, confectioners sugar and raspberry jam until it had a nice consistent. Pretty easy right. Just put the mixture into your piping bag and fill your macaron halfs with it. Don´t use up the whole space or it´s going to run over when you add the other macaron half.

Start baking

Make sure to give it a try and if they don´t turn out pretty the first time don´t throw them away cause they will still taste great.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

How to style an oversized cardigan + double buckle belt…

cardigan Lost Ink / overknee boots Mark Adam old similar here and here / handbag Givenchy Antigona dupe sold out similar here / black turtleneck H&M / statement necklace old similar here and here / double buckle belt Asos

….

Good morning guys,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

I am really not a fan of the weather these days but after I hared about the -30° in Chicago I take it and will stop complaining. Not so easy cause I have probably hit a new low in terms of snow and ice this morning. My car windows have frozen on the oustide as well as on the inside. I really couldn´t believe it. Have you tried scratching inside? No, good for you cause it doesn´t work. You have to sit it out.

But let´s move on to a much nicer theme. The leopard print cardigan I am wearing in today´s post. Leopard print is still going strong and where the basic piece section of every store was expanded with a striped piece about 2 to three years ago it now contains leopard print. I absolutely enjoy this circumstance cause when leopard print became popular you didn´t get a nice piece unless you were one of the first in the stores. Everything was sold out and only the ugly or super pricey pieces were left.

The cardigan I am wearing above is from Lost Ink. I have a few pieces of their brand and I love them all. The quality is really good and for that they are reasonable priced. Also love this one, doesn´t it look super romantic?! The cardigan is from the petite section but in my opinion it has a great lenght and doesn´t look akward on me (I am 5´5 / 1,65 cm ). I combined it with all black underneath cause I wanted the beautiful dusty blue color to pop right out. The speckles are black and yellow. Overall it has a color combination I have never seen in a leopard print but that´s what makes me really like it.

I have worn it about ten times until now. A lot around the house too cause it is just so cozy and comfortable. I have also worn it unbelted and with a black slim dress underneath. Looks great as well. A light gray color also looks really nice with it and if you have a yellow one in the same hue as the speckles be sure to wear it, I bet it would look awesome.

Wishing you a great day today. Last day at work today and I am so happy about that cause I have tons of stuff to do around the house and also since I was alone at my office the whole week I got really really bored.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Wedding Wednesday – Our honeymoon in Spain – Santa Ponsa, Mallorca….

….
Hi guys,
(post contains links/Werbung/Beitrag enthält Links/Ort- und Hotelnennung-not sponsored)
I am finally coming around to share the details of our honeymoon. As you may know we spent our honeymoon in Spain to be exactly on an island called Mallorca. The place where our hotel was is called Santa Ponsa. It is about 35 km west from the capital city Palma.
Our flight was around 1 pm so it wasn´t hard at all to get up and get ready – although I had some stomach problems causing real pain, maybe that is why I forgot so many things – and totally managed to get to the airport in time. Another thing was the line at the check-in desk. Took us so so long and of course the security line and walking to our gate. I just grabbed one last minute coffee and didn´t have time to have a look at the duty free shops. Really sad. Same thing happened as we flew to London last year. Next time I am gonig to be there 3 hours early.

We didn´t do that much on our first day. After arrriving we took a taxi (took about 30 minutes) to the hotel (we stayed at the H10 Casa del Mar) and checked in. We got a quick refresh in our room. Then we went of to explore our surroundings until it was time for dinner.

We booked dinner at the hotel restaurant with the reservation of our hotel but you could also just go with breakfast and eat out at another restaurant. Maybe that would have been better – not that the food wasn´t delicious – cause we always eat to much at a buffet restaurant.

The second day

The second day we couldn´t really decide on what to do and since it was so gloomy we went to the bus station and headed into Palma the capital city of the island (bus ticket was about 4 Euro per person but the bus was really really full). We went to the cathedral of Palma. There were about thousands of people. After exploring the surroundings of the cathedral we went into the city for a little shopping (they had a Sephora) and some tapas (we had the most delicious sweet potato fries with aioli – a garlic flavored sour cream) and sangria (the national drink).
We got back late afternoon so we just showered, had a drink at the hotel bar and went to dinner. After our dinner we mostly went to the rooftop bar of the hotel and had a glass of Cava (the champagne of Spain).

The third day

On our third day we headed to the beach which was right across our hotel (only 50 m. away). The had plenty of beach chairs but they weren´t from the hotel so for a daily fee of 13 Euro for two they where yours.
I really loved wandering up and down the little street along the beachl There where many little restaurants, cafés and shops to look at. We love to sit and watch people for hours and I also don´t mind about a cup of coffee and a glass of bubbly. But at this point I have to be honest: I have never seen more worse dressed people in one place than there. I don´t know if it is the ease of a vacation combined with the beach but let´s just say. I wouldn´t want to have/copy 99 % of it.

The fourth day

The next day we went to a park called Marineland nearby. It was like a tiny Seaworld with sea lions, dolphins, penguins and stingrays. They had shows and access to the beach and a luch area. I really love all the sea animals and I also got a picture with a sea lion lady.
After we got back we got dressed for dinner and headed into the city centre for a refreshing bottle of San Miguel (the local beer brand). Normally I don´t like beer a lot but this one tasted really good. Also the bar prices for drinks are pretty low. I would have thought of way higher prices but 5 Euro for two bottles of beer is totally okay.

The fifth day

The next day we got up early to go to a local market and this was one of the most disappointing things I have seen in my life. It was one sad line of market stalls and mostly selling some kind of crap/souvenirs or fruit/plants. Nothing to compare to the huge markets at Lake Garda.  So I really was devastated but on our way back I have found a beautiful fashion store where they had so many cute and affordable clothes and I got a ton of stuff also for a discounted price. I was in heaven there and it mildered my disappointment, also the glass of bubbly after didn´t hurt.

The sixth day

Our last day was spent inbetween the beach and the hotel enjoying the local cuisine and refreshing drinks. Also packing was a real challenge since I brought/bought way to much and I only had a small piece of luggage but I mastered to get everything inside without overweight.

Overall it was a really nice and relaxing trip after all the wedding stress and the city of Palma is a real must-see but if you are up for adventure and exploring this might not be the right place for you.

We have seen pretty much everything we wanted to in one week and probably won´t visit a second time.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Valentine´s Day Goodies to spoil yourself or to gift…

Codello scarf / heart sunglasses / Hypnotic Poison by Dior / YSL limited edition lipstick / Zoeva brush set / Sephora matte lipstick / Kate Spade heart satchel / nailpolish Essie / manguun collection heart pullover / Beauty sweater River Island / monogram mug amazon / Ella Heart crossbody bag

….

Hello my holiday loving friends,

since Valentine´s Day is one of my favorite holidays I am sharing a little gift guide including sweet gifts for yourself or your begifted. We usually are going out but I think this Valentine´s we are going to stay in and enjoy ourselves while eating a huge pizza and watching Netflix (since it became so cold and snowy I barely want to go outside).

Codello heart print scarf // A scarf is a well needed accessorry in the winter so why not step up your outerwear game and wear this super cute and soft scarf with little colorful hearts all over. Combine it with your favorite color and spread some love.

Heart shapped sunglasses // We don´t have much sun over here these days but if you have or even got warm weather on Valentine´s day be sure to grab one of these. The shape is not only super trendy right now but it also fits perfectly for the holiday.

Dior perfume // I ordered this fragrance back in December and I loved it right away. Since I am more on the flowery side in terms of fragrances I wanted to have a little heavier one for the winter days. I always feel like these are the more appropriate ones in the winter. The Hypnotic Poison smells so good. It includes musk which can get too much for me quickly but it is mixed with some other lighter scents and really smells heavenly. The perfect perfume to gift.

Limited edition lipsticks // These are the cutest I have seen in a while so if you are a lipsticks lover/addict/collector be sure to get this quick cause they will sell out fast. I have gotten the Sephora one already and I love it. The color is super pigmented and also super matte and the red is so pretty.

Essie nailpolish // Red nails are a must for the day lovers.

Sweaters // No matter if you are staying at home or not be sure to grab one of these super cute sweaters. I got the purple one (going to share it in a separate outfit post very soon). I absolutely love to dress for the ocassion. Would be office appropriate with a blazer jacket and pencil skirt but you can also wear it casual with denim and booties.

Handbags // Aren´t these handbags the most prettiest you have ever seen for Valentine´s Day?? I know they are quite the investment to only use for one day. But to be honest you are not limited on days in wearing heart print. Go for the Kate Spade if you own a lot of red or/and blush pieces as this one is a real allrounder and also works for daily use.

Monogramm mug // Awesome little present for a co-worker, your mum or even a friend. These are super affordable and every letter looks different.

Zoeva pink brush set // Would be a great gift for yourself if you are a make-up lover or even to gift to a make-up loving friend. You could also get this for a Galentine´s party and divide it in two packages, one for you and one for your bestie.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.
