I am beyond happy for today´s post cause who doesn´t love to doll up, right ?! We are invited to two weddings this year and I have been on the hunt for the perfect wedding guest dress for quite a while now. I have ordered a ton of dresses but only a few fit and were pretty.
The dress code says black tie optional so that is great for us cause we don´t need a tux for Florian, he can wear a nice suit with a matching button down and tie to my dress. In general black tie optional means for the men that they can wear a tux or optional a nice suit. And for the women to wear a floor lenght gown and optional a cocktail dress if it isn´t to revealing, short or seethrough. Oh and of course please don´t wear a plain white dress to a wedding as a woman if you are not the inner circle of the bride or asked to.
I ordered this beautiful ivory and green dress amongst a ton of others and ended up loving it the most. The material is thick and heavy which speaks of great quality and the green drawings against the creme backdrop of the dress are stunning. Like the pattern of a ginger jar just green. A fun little addition is the one sleeve of the dress and the green waistband. The one-shoulder trend is still going strong, also in the cocktail dress and ballgown section.
Overall I was very happy with my choice of the dress and added all green accessories to it. The green velvet handbag is from Topshop but I can´t find it online anymore (I have linked a similar but pricey one) and the heels are from Asos. I wasn´t quite sure if I was able to wear them the whole 12 hours so I threw a second pair in the car but they were just fine and we danced a lot. Although I was really happy to get undressed and in bed after a very very long day.
As my dress is from Asos and many other dresses I ordered were to I would totally recommend their festive dress section. The selection is awesome. Lot´s of colors, lengths and sizing options.
I also got the bridesmaids dresses from their site so it is totally worth a look.
