Emilia´s 6 Months Update…

How in the world is my sweet little baby already a half year old. I can not believe how fast time went and I am afraid that in another blink of an eye she is turning one. But let´s not get too dramatic (plays sad music and watches newborn videos of her baby on phone) and share what has happended this month.

Emilia´s 6 month update

Our biggest milestone this month has been introducing our sweet little girl into solids. She has eaten carrots, pumpkin and sweet potatoes so far and hasn´t been the greatest fan of anyhting. I recently introduced her to greek yoghurt and some mashed fruits and went a little better but she still is very spectical and eating with a spoon is still pretty new to me.

I think she is starting to crawl very soon cause she gets up in position but lays down soon after cause the doesn´t know what the next step is.

And we got a tooth, one little tooth. It came out 2 weeks ago and sleeping has been horrible since. The newborn stage was nothing in comparison with this but it is so worth it. She gets sweeter by the day and has such a sunny personality.

We do have some skin troubles. Dry and red spots that come and go but don´t stay away. I have tried several lotions to make it better but still at the process of finding a good one that helps to solve the problem. I had eczema as a child and I am afraid she is going to get that too.

Emilia has several favorite toys she loves to play with and that includes our remote control, Playstation controller and phones. Maybe it is the lights taht makes her so addicted to these or that we are using them all the time and she wants to have these too.

Sitting hasn´t been that good cause she just isn´t interested in sitting up by her own but we are practicing a little every day.

She has outgrown her Maxi Cosi so I got a permanent car seat for her this week and it made me so sad cause she it growing up so fast.

Emilia´s 5 Months Update…

Everytime I sit down and write another monthly update I can not believe hot much time has passed already. She is going to turn 6 months shortly and I still remember taking her home from the hospital like it was yesterday.

Emilia started rolling from her back on her tummy last month and now she is quite the pro. Back and forth all day long and she is getting everywhere she wants – mostly with a little detour but she´s got time you now.

Teething toys have become very interesting the last few weeks. She likes chewing on them and makes the funniest squeekie sounds. I ordered a cute little fox from amazon as well as a banana from Nuby and she loves both.

She has grown to be a very good sleeper and sleeps through the night on 6 out of 7 days I would say. The first time she wakes up and needs to be breastfed is around 6 to 7:30 am which is a huge stretch, after that she fall aspleep again and sleeps until 9 or 10 am. She goes to bed around 11 pm and I know this is late but her last long nap is from 8 to 9 pm so this has become pretty normal for us.

I haven´t started solids yet cause I want to wait until she reaches a full six months before I slowly introduce her to other foods. This is handled different by every mother I know so far but that´s what we decided and to be honest I see no harm in feeding her purely breastmilk a little longer than expected. So far she has shown no interest in any other food at all and she has grown great with my milk.

She is now wearing size 74 in all of her clothes. I got a huge bunch of new things the other weeks. Thank good for H&M and Zara for the cutest but affordable clothes.

Sitting is another favorite activity of her although she can´t sit up by herself but she loves to sit on my lap or on the sofa over lying around. We just got the seat for her Stokke chair so she can sit in there and “eat” with us at the table.

That´s it so far. I am really excited how she is going to react to other foods and if she likes it. Going to be an interesting period of trial and error.

What´s in my Diaper Bag…

How cute are those pictures with my little girl? She is such a happy camper all the time and it seems like she loves the camera.

I am sharing all the things I have in my diaper bag today but first of all I wanted to share which one I use. I do have several large shopper bags like the LV Neverfull or the Tory Burch Gemini Link but I also got a classic diaper bag. I used the diaper bag for our walks as I only needed to have the baby´s things with me but now after lockdown I find it much more convenient to carry a shopper handbag around with me.

The diaper bag I got is from SkipHop. I love all of their things. I got the changing pad as well as the wet clothes pouch and use it all the time. My most used handbag I use as a diaper bag is my LV Neverfull or my Coach Market Tote. Both have the perfect shape to add one of these great felt organizer you can get of amazon. A organizer can transfer any bag into a well sorted place to keep your things.

What is in my diaper bag?

– diapers (of course)

– wipes

– lotion

– extra pacifier

– extra set of clothing

– wet bag

– summer hat

– socks

– burp clothes

– toys

– hot water / tupperware to pour in

– bottle with breast milk

– teething toy

– blanket

– changing pad

– sun lotion

– portable white noise mashine

This looks like a long list and it is quite the amount of things but everything you will need with a baby. I always check twice before leaving the house and so far I haven´t forgotten a thing we needed but it has definitely changed us. No getting out the door last minute or spontaneous here anymor but I wouldn´t want it any other way.

Emilia´s 4 Months Update…

I can´t believe my little girl has turned four months last week. How is this even possible, I remember it like yesterday when we went home from the hospital in that teddybear suit that was way to big on her.

4 months update

So what happened since our last update. She is still grabbing things but now she wants to have everything that comes in her way.

Last week was the first time that she turned from her back to her tummy all by herself. I was so proud. She started with a few times a day and now she does it all day long. But she can´t turn back from that position so when her strength goes away she mumbles into the blanket until I turn her around.

I have created a little corner for her in front of our sofa since she turns all the time and it is not safe anymore for her on there. I think she likes it pretty much cause she plays by herself for a really long time with all her cute toys and stuffed animals.

Her hair started to come in fast these days and she is going to be a blonide like her mom. I can´t wait till I can make cute hairstyles and add bows to her hair.

She has grown big. She was at the 97% of weight and size at our last doctors appointment but I always thought she would get a big baby because everyone in my husbands family is tall. Emilia has outgrown her size 62 clothes and most of her size 68 clothes.

Emilia still is the most smiley and cute baby I have seen in a while. She follows everybody around with her eyes and is mesmerized by our dog.

We see tiny new things she does everyday and it has been such a great stage she is in. Can´t wait what to see what comes next.
