(Happy) Monday,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

another week has started and that means we are getting closer to Christmas which I am very excited about. I started to deck the halls and I am not even half done but that´s fine. My tree is up and ready and that is the most important piece of Christmas decor to me. Also my 20-week ultrasound appointment is next week so I can finally see our baby again.

With all the excitement for everything baby around here I have also ordered some pregnancy related books to inform myself and keep me informed throughout the “journey”. I know that there are tons of apps too, but I am a book kind of girl. I need paper between my hands – same goes for my to-do lists.

Pregnancy books I got so far

Bringing up Bébé // Tells the story of an American woman who gives birth in France and also raises her child there. Comparisons of American and France ways to look after children and what´s important in the different countries. Really interesting to read cause the differences are huge on many points.

What to expect when you´re expecting // My holy grail guide I study from week to week to see how far we are along in size and weight and also what symptoms could hit me next. Holds a ton of information also on the birth itself and after.

The Whole 9 Months // I got this mainly because it has a ton of information on nutrition and easy recipes which are healthy and delicious to cook while pregnant.

Pregnancy books that are currently in my cart

The Wonder Weeks

Twelve Hours of Sleep by Twelve Weeks old

I have read great things about these books in terms of helpful tips and tricks so I am definitely going to read these also before having the baby.

Hopefully you had a great start into the new week.

Amazon Pregnancy Must-Haves…

pregnancy must-haves, pregnancy, amazon finds, pregnanct, amazon

Hello my lovely friends,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

Let´s be honest, aren´t we all a little dependant on amazon. It´s just because they carry everything you need and so much more so it is no surprise I got all of my pregnancy must-haves off of amazon.

All the products I am sharing above have helped me a ton in the beginning and ongoing of my pregnancy. You aren´t allowed to take much to comfort yourself so some other things to distract you it is.

In the end evey woman has to find out for herself what is the most comforting or needed item as every pregnancy is different but this is a little article to guide you into the right direction.

Pregnancy Must-Haves

Pregnancy book // This was the first book I ordered and I have to admit it is super informative. The reading is great and I like a lot that is has a lot of further chapters for after you have given birth. For me a must-read but I am going to share the other books I got in a separate post.

Pant expansion // A well needed piece for the strange weeks between needing maternity pants and your normal jeans. I have used them a ton and they will be quite as useful after giving birth. They come in a pack of two and in three different colors.

Magnesium // I had lots of ligament pain throughout the whole time I have been pregnanct now and my gynecologist recommended taking magnesium cause it would help to stretch and it has worked out really great. So I am definitely going to take this until the end as it ensured for so much relieve.

Nursing bra´s // Not need those at the moment, at least not for nursing but I some books I have read say that these are a great comfortable and underwire free option if your breasts will get really big and want to wear a bra for support at night.

Jersey dress // This gorgeous jersey dress wasn´t a pregnancy buy in particular. I have found it in the early stages of my pregnancy and it still works great with the bump so I got it in a few other colors. Currently available in 8 with short and long sleeves and for under 20 Euro definitely a great piece to wear pregnant or not.

Pregnancy pillow // The most comfortable pillow I have ever owned came in yesterday and I already love it. It is super soft and so supportive (feels like a hug) for your pregnant body in terms of sleeping (haven´t slept good for some time now and it probably won´t get any better) and resting. Florian also already approved it and I have a feeling that he will be using it too when I am not there. It comes in 5 different covers and I have the gray velvet one.

Pregnancy workout dvd // I have ordered this weeks ago and never came around using it until a few days ago. Since I am still going to my line dance class I only do the arm workouts but they are still hard. In my opinion you don´t have to be super sporty as long as you stay as active as possible. I hadn´t been cleared for sports until my 16th week appointment. It is what it is.

Accupressure wristband // Heard a lot about the accupressure points on the wrist and with its ability to ease nausea so I got this set of wrist bands on amazon but I have to admit I did not notice any difference. The only things which helped against my nausea were sleep through it or try to eat small amounts. Other than that nothing really worked and I just had to wait until it got better on its own.

Burt`s Bee´s body oil // Awesome product! The first body oil I have ordered and I have used it every day since my bump started to show. It prevents itching and I haven´t gotten a single stretchmark. Of course there is still a long way to go but so far so good. The smell is amazing and so calming and a little goes a long way.

Is there anything I have missed and helped you so far ? Or is there anything I should add to my list and try?

My First Trimester…

Hi you guys,

after sharing our family photo shoot you all might know about my pregnancy now so I am finally sharing a first trimester update with you guys.

My first trimester

In my opinion I haven´t had the worst first trimester. I have read so many stories of women who felt so so bad and could not eat or drink a thing. I could get through most of the days. It wasn´t enjoyable but possible.

My feelings

over the moon excited, worried anything could go wrong, overwhelmed on what to change first diet, skincar, products we

My aversions

smell of paper towels (???) makes me retch, salami, scrambled eggs (all eggs in general) and everything to burned

My pregnancy symptoms

nauseous in the mornings and after eating something, the only thing that keeps my steady would be cold lemon juice , super exhausted – everytime it was possible I took a 2 hour nap to be somehow functional and also to overcome another wave of nausea, heartburn, tingling calves, mild cramping

really bad skin – I had bad breakouts but that ended after the first trimester (maybe just of hormonal adjustment)

Gender assumption

I would say girl cause of my bad skin and also because of the heartbeat (156 beats per minute) but there are so many theories out there we´ll see. My assumption is boy (just have a feeling about it) but Florian and my mom say girl. Going to reveal the gender very soon.

What I am looking forward in my second trimester

Having a clearer ultrasound picture were I can recognize parts of the body, feeling better in general, having a little less to worry as the most scary weeks are over, sharing it with everyone who doesn´t know yet.

Starting on the nursery – really can´t wait on that and also of course getting all the cute little baby clothes.

Another important thing on my hand. Don´t try to eat things you can´t stand. This will make you feel even worse. If you are craving the pizza, the french fries, the burger just eat it. Don´t feel bad that it isn´t salad or you aren´t eating as healthy as can be. Your baby will be fine and you can still eat all the good things when you are out of your first trimester fog. You don´t have to feel guilty at all.

I am going to post my 20 weeks update very soon. I am actually 20 weeks on Thursday. Can´t believe I am going to be halfway through already.

Have a great day you guys and if you are also expecting I would love to hear about your experience.
