Has anyone loved the lady jacket trend as much as I do ? Maybe it is because I am overall a jacket hoarder. I just love outerwear and love to layer my way throughout the year. Lady jackets are definitley a thing I can totally get behind.
Now what is the definition of a lady jacket – what does this mean? The Lady Jacket is a structured, slightly cropped, collarless jacket. A classic stapel that dresses everything up immediately.
While a lady jacket looks amazing with a pair of casual denim I wanted to wear it over a black maxi knit dress and it was also a great way to combine it.
I have opted for accessories in the jackets colors like the scarf and the boots. Overall a nice look that works on so many levels and for so many occassions.
Don´t we all strive to take nice photos especially on the special days of the year!!! I personally like aesthetically pleasing picutures and I know not everyone agrees but in my opinion you do have much more joy with this kind of photos than having some trash or toys or anything else in the background you do not want to have. My meassurement of a great backdrop is do I want to frame this picture and have it sit on my sideboard ??!! A question you should ask yourself. If it is no a great homemade backdrop comes in handy and I am going to tell you how to get there.
Photoworthy Background for your Home Photos
For me personally it all starts with the balloon arch and then I go on from there. I make up my mind what colors I would like to have and then I go online and see what they offer. Most times I get a set but sometimes I buy the balloons individually. Totally depends.
So for this photo setup I went with a fringe curtain for the background and worked my way around it with a big balloon garland and some garlands. Since I had so much arch on the left I wanted to balance it out a little and got this flower string on the right. Cute and effective. You could also use this for kids pictures or some photos with your spouse.
The Valentine´s theme had to have bright red and whites and confetti balloons but there are no boundaries in terms of color combinations.
If you have been following me long enough (or even just a little) you might know that that plaid is one of my favorite patterns. No matter if it is scottish plaid in the Winters or gingham in the Summer, I just love it.
To be honest the last couple of weeks have been pretty boring and I would bore myself reading this but if you had our weather you too just wouldn´t know what to do. It is still to cold and gloomy to stay outside for a long time and there are not many things to do indoor.
We had some carnival parties we couldn´t go to cause the kids have been sick so we tangle from week to week hoping it will get better soon. At some point all the toys are boring and the girls just want to go outside.
Meals
I have patted myself on the shoulder last week for cooking two meals (and having leftover too). Started meal planning again for the next so I can finally get into my groove again. Something just threw me off and I couldn´t get back into my daily cooking. I just didn´t know what to cook cause they girls despised everything and it was all so much work cooking with two toddlers but I think things are gonna change around here.
Hot Dogs – was a huge hit with my husband, the girls only ate the sausage
Hamburger Helper – was a huge hit with the kids, they even ate the leftovers the next day
Fashion
This might have been the last week I am wearing Winter looks. The temperatures will be up to 15 degrees for the most of the next week so I am definitely getting my Spring wardrobe ready to wear. I love layering but I definitely prefer a lighter layer at this point and shoes that are not boots.
Activities
We had our carneval themed Line Dance party on Saturday and we had lots of fun dancing and admiring all the other costumes. The deers with one hunter have been the best group costume.
Today was my MIL birthday and she made this gorgeous cake. It was huge and delicious.
