Wedding Wednesday – our wedding invitations for a fall wedding….

….

Hi guys,

finding the right (for me) invitation cards has been a longer process than I wanted it to be. I just thought I would go online and could find some I would love after searching. But I searched a long time and ordered a sample of 6 different styles. After that I wasn´t even quite sure.
I wanted to find a place where I could get everything I needed in the same style which means invitations, rsvp cards, envelopes, menus and place cards. They should also have thank you cards for after the wedding. I found some I liked on Kartenmacherei.de.

This was really harder than I thought and I have to say thank god I finally found some. Inivitatons shouldn´t be the last piece of a wedding to get done.

The style I ordered is called flower garland (Blumengirlande). I took the long cards in a mother-of-pearl shade and the burgundy color for the font.

This was the invitation which came closest to my romantic fall wedding theme I wanted. And in the end I love how it turned out. With the shiny paper and the small flowers on top of the card.

The stamps on the cards are from the personalization service from the german mail service. I did not know that this was possible (found out about it in a coincidence) but the service is really great. Not only can you choose from different pictures for different ocassions you can also upload your own. In fact this service is pretty great and I am very happy that the german mail service is offering this too now.

Thanks for stopping by. And be sure to check back on Wednesday´s if you are interested into more wedding content.

Take care. See you.

Wedding Wednesday – which wedding shoes I am wearing and why I decided against the Hangisi model from Manolo Blahnik….

 …..

Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
ever since I watched the first of the Sex and the City movies one since never went out of my mind. The moment Big revealed the perfect walk-in closet to Carrie and she put a pair of royal blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisi onto the shoe shelf. As I saw this pair I knew which shoes I wanted for my future marriage.

Now that the moment is here – and I couldn´t be happier about it – I am not so sure about this pair of shoes. I got two issues about them. The first and biggest is the price. They charge about 900 Euro for this pair of shoes. I know it is a Manolo Blahnik but it still is only satin and not even leather. Although I still love it. The second factor is I don´t think I want a blue pair of shoes to my dress cause I have a romantical fall theme for my wedding and the hues are orange and burgundy. First thought about it is pretty good cause you got some new and something blue in one pair of shoe. But I wanted a more elegant pair of shoes. I know that they are available in creme and nude and white hues but theses don´t have much of an appeal to me.

 So the search went on…
As I found a pretty similar pair for a fraction of the cost I gave it a try. They are from River Island (similar here and here) and cost about 70 Euros. The blue is exactly the same and the application on the tip is different but it is a bow made of rhinestones and who could resist a bow. When they came in I wasn´t sure about the sizing cause the size 37 was to tight on the front but fit in the lenght so I ordered a 38 and that was perfect on the front but there was way to much space in the shoe. I couldn´t take this one cause I needed a size inbetween and they don´t offer half sizes.

So I ordered three more pairs. And I had an eye on one in particular which I loved on the website and I loved for real and I took at the end. They are all true to size so order the size you always take.

But let´s first have a look at the other pairs. A white pair from Dune London (similar here) which is a pretty close dupe to the Hangisi model I think and I really liked it. It has this nice brooch on the top of the heel and it fit quite good (I was walking around in the house for about an hour in every shoe) but in my opinion it was a little to high to get through a whole wedding day. They are about 140 Euros.
The second pair I tried on was also white. A really bright white. It has a pointed toe and a band to wrap around your ankle and tie (similar here and here). I think this would be a really nice shoe for a short dress but if you got a long wedding dress like I do you won´t see much of it and it was also to tight on the front so my toes didn´t have any space at all. Again not my pair of shoes. They are about 50 Euros.

The final pair I took is beyond beautiful. So artistically and ornate and mine. The brand is called Menbur and the model Ceti. Menbur is a brand which makes evening shoes and bags and bridal shoes and bags. The specilized on this segment on the market. The shoe has kind of a champagne color and a lace cover up all over. It has apricot colored flowers and rhinestone applications on the tip and I couldn´t be more in love with a shoe at all. It has a pointed tip but not to tight and the heel is high as I like it but not sky high so you coulnd´t stay or stand a whole day in it. They are about 100 Euros.

What do you think of MY pair of shoes ? I have listed a bunch of others in the widget below.

Wedding Wednesday – how I started to plan my wedding….

wedding planning glass etsy / wedding planner asos / Yankee Candle Wedding Day / folder amazon / pens amazon / book Style me pretty weddings amazon / book the knot amazon

….

Hi guys,
(post contains affiliate links / Werbung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links)
I am finally sharing another wedding post today. It is all about starting to plan and staying organized while planning.

First of all I got a wedding planner and a file. All the contact information, our inspiration and our correspondence with vendors, caterer, florists, music bands and wedding stores is in here. Also our guest lists are in here.
Before looking at any vendors we made a guest list. Not final but we needed to know how many people we want and can invite.
This also makes it easier to find a vendor cause they all offer for different sizes of parties and some have a minimum guest number of 100.

With the first expenses I started the file where I have an eye on our budget and all the invoices sorted in categories.
This makes it a lot easier to get a quick overview than a pile of paper in a shoebox.

With all the main aspects of planning tools I got some goodies for myself like the wedding planning glass. I love the shape and the font and it is just gorgeous. Got it on etsy. They offer many different ones but I had mine shipped to Germany so this wasn´t as easy as I thought first.

The second thing I wanted was the big jar from Yankee Candle. Wedding Day is one of my favorite smells since I stepped into the first Yankee Candle store years ago. But now it finally makes sense to own one.
Another great tool for planning is Pinterest. It might be no secret to all my girls out there that I already had a secret wedding board saved for a long time.
Pinterest is great and offers lots of ideas but it can also be overwhelming and confusing at the same time to have so many options and choices. I decided on a color scheme first – this wasn´t hard at all for me since I love the fall and our wedding is at the beginning of fall so I went with burgundy and orange – and then went on Pinterest for ideas. Still was a lot to process but a lot more already fell of the edge.
We still have about six months for everything but we are pretty far by now. We have a vendor, a date, a music band and a dress and a suit. Table decoration is almost tinkered and the invitations are sent out.
We also booked our honeymoon and got our wedding rings.
Feel free to ask any questions. I also have a wedding tab where you can find all the themes I have already written about.
Thanks for stopping by. Take care. See you.

Wedding Wednesday – what to put into the bridesmaids boxes….

Will you be my bridesmaid cards My bridal shower / box Nanu Nana / excelsior amazon / pink sheets amazon / bridesmaids gown Asos / Yankee Candle Wedding Day amazon / No Ops pouches Douglas / engraved champagne glasses amazon / Freixenet rose mini amazon / Lindt pralines amazon

….

Hi guys,

you all know by now that we are getting MARRIED and it is still so unreal to me. A huge factor and help every bride are the bridesmaids. Whether you have 1 or 20 bridesmaids they are supposed to help you, to give you advice and to stand by your side when it comes to deciding elementary wedding questions.

I have three bridesmaids. My two best friends I have known for several years now and Florian´s sister who has also become such a good and close friend.

I made a package for each of them going along with a “Will you be my bridesmaid?” card I have found at the My Bridal Shower internet shop.

I got the boxes (only available in stores) in creme in the largest size they had from nanu-nana. A store with decoration items you can also find online. I stuffed the boxes with excelsior. Not the normal one for moving. I got a way softer material so it wouldn´t scratch a thing. To cover everything before the cap of the box was coming on top I got this pink tissue also from amazon – matched the theme pretty well.

But let´s get to the goodies. I got a personalized champagne glass for each of them with has their name engraved. Of course I had to add some bubbly too, cause how bad would be an empty glass? To round up the fabulous taste of the Freixenet rose champagne I also got small boxes with all the classic chocolate pralines from Lindt I enjoy so much. They also came in a gorgeous matching pink shade.

Why not gifting a good smelling box? I figured the easiest way to pull that off would be by adding a Yankee Candle since the fragrances are insane intense and this small candle really is enough for the size of the box. Also it says Wedding Day and I already do have the big jar of it.

The pink bridesmaid gowns had to be a part of the box and maybe they are also the main part but since I got myself a white bride robe I wanted to get my bridesmaids the matching pink ones. We can all wear them while getting ready.

And last but not least is the cutest thing I have seen in such a long time. I also had this product in my a monthly favorites post many month ago. A tiny beauty bag from NoOps. These are just the cutest and you would be surprised as much as you would be impressed how much different stuff this little case holds (a headband, 4 bobby pins, a nailfile, clear nail polish, three towelettes, a lip balm, blotting papers, tooth sticks, make-up remover wipes, a mini sewing set and two buttons). Unbelievable right!!!!
What did you gift your bridesmaids and would you have any other ideas ?
Thanks for stopping by.
Take care. See you.
