Regensburg Brunch and Breakfast Spots Part#1…

….

(post contains ads/links to other websites/Post enthält Werbung/Namen und Links zu Fremdwebsites- not sponsored)

I LOVE breakfast. It is my favorite meal of the day and I would rather eat breakfast dishes than anything else. Always. So since having children we are no strangers to getting up early and so we decided to go and try all of the different berakfast spots we can find in our city.

I wanted to break it up in two parts cause we have tested a few and that would be way to much info at once. If you are ever in Regensburg, either for vacation or business you should definitely check out these places. We have been lots of times and tried the breakfast menu up and down. I am going to share my favorites of each and also some other significant things.

Also to be clear about breakfast. We do not like the normal breakfast like a piece of bread, butter and cheese. We always look for pancakes or waffles, egg variations and bowls.

Breakfast / Brunch Spots in Regensburg

OFFSID3

By far our favorite – by far. They have the most delicious and most extra dishes for breakfast. From eggs benedict to bowls, waffles, french toast and pancakes to avocado toast and breakfast burritos there really is something for everyone. They have a gluten free pancake option. Lots of different coffees (we are cappuccino people) and other hot beverages as well as juice and their own fresh lemonade.

The garden behind is super pretty with lots of shade in the Summer. The inside is pretty as well but too big. There are some stairs everywhere so you will not be able to access the garden or the restrooms with a wheelchair. Also they do not have a changing table for babies. It is fairly priced and the dishes usually come very quick. Portions are pretty big. If you want to eat two different ones you´ll better share.

Charlie´s

We have visited Charlie´s a few times now and it has great breakfast options but not as many as I´d hope for. The terrace and the indoors are super modern (black and gold always looks great together) and moody. Outside it can be a bit noisy cause there are two major streets going along. Also there is not much space inside so it will be a bit cozy if you are having a mom brunch with more than one stroller. Also the toilets are downstairs and there is no possibility for a wheelchair to get down other than the stairs. They do have a changing table for babies.

The pancakes and the breakfast sandwich are the best options to choose from. Of course you also can not go wrong with bacon and eggs. The prices are reasonable and the size of the portions are fine.

Café Kona

If you are having kids with you to take to breakfast this will be the best option. They have a corner with toys and books and small furniture to sit on. The breakfast is pretty normal. Bread, cold cuts and cheese and vegetables but the croissants are amazing.  They are warm and soft and delicious. I always order two cause they are gone pretty quick. Plus they offer bagels. I always take the English Bagel with bacon and eggs and beans.

There is a seperate bathroom to change diapers. You can get inside through the garden at the back of the restaurant if you have a stroller or wheelchair. If you are around the area in Fall make sure to try their pumpkin spice latte. I kid you not it tastes amazing.

Freiraum

Super small restaurant with a cute little garden on the back but also has super narrow aisles. It will be hard maneuvering with a stroller and that is why it´s best to sit out front.

I love their pancakes and eggs plus the plates are the most colorful and pretty I have ever seen.

Little Tony´s

It is a two-storey restaurant. Pretty small but very cute. There isn´t much seating whether on the first or the second floor so I would make sure to make a reservation. There is a very small outdoor seating area but of course it is closed in Winter.

I love to order the bacon and egg bread and the pancakes. So so good every damn time. Why is breakfast so much fun!!

Very limited space for strollers but it is possible to get in and also toilets are accessable for wheelchairs and a changing table for kids is also available.

Part two is coming soon but there are a few places I need to get back first as well as to try more of their foods.

….

There is something so special about Christmas morning. Everyone is in their Christmas pj´s awaiting the delicious smelling breakfast from the kitchen to start into the day with lots of excitement and for the children the most important – presents.

I love breakfast. It will be forever my favorite meal of the day and while I have made a breakfast bord in the past there isn´t nearly as much time left to do so with two small children. So monkey bread it will be.

Super easy, super delicious and a hit with small children as well as adults. It is the recipe with the least effort.

Ingredients:

– Sunday rolls dough (I take two with 6 rolls each)

– 1 1/2 cup of sugar

– 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

– 1 stick of butter

– cut each roll up in 6 pieces / toss into a bowl / add 1 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and swirl around until everything is covered / put into the baking pan /

– melt butter with the rest of the sugar and cinnamon / pour into baking dish over the dough

– bake for 1/2 hour on 180 °

– let is cool down before you flip it onto a plate

Black and White Cake Pops…

….

I am not much of a candy gal but cupcakes, cookies and of course doughnuts have my heart. If I make any of these I am a 100 % sure I am going to eat more of them than I anticipated but I just can´t stop until they are gone. So I am not making these kinds of sweets often but last week Emilia wanted to have a cake pop and since you can´t get them anywhere I decided to make some at home.

They have been very easy to make although they look very complicated but there are only a few simple steps to follow and you have yourself some cake pops. You can make them as colorful as you like but I went with classic black and white ones today. They would look very pretty at a roaring 20´s party for example.

Now let´s talk about the few steps that will lead you to your delicous cake pop. First of all make the cake. I have used this recipe twice already and it works out great every time. Then make your frosting. You are crumbling up the baked cake to add the frosting and make little balls, stick the cake pop sticks into them. After that I put them in the fridge for about two hours. In the meantime I am melting the chocolate I need and get the decorations ready cause the chocolate hardens fast and you will get your sprinkles and mini marshmallows on there quickly.

Our Little Coffee Corner at Home…

….

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/;Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

I just love my morning coffee. It is one of the little things I cherish everday over and over. The first sip of coffee is like a huge burst of energy running through my veins I just can´t describe this feeling. Also in my opinion the first coffee of the day tastes best. No matter where you get it in which way you decide to drink it. I always have a black coffee with a splash of fat free milk but if we are out for breakfast I´ll get a cappuccino and if we are at Starbucks I´ll usually have a vanilla latte. 3 super boring coffee orders but that´s just me. I like it simple and sometimes with a little twist.

Now let´s move on to our coffee corner I have created over the years we have lived in our house and to this day I think it is the perfect spot to make my morning coffee. I can wait for the coffee maker to heat up while breathing in fresh morning air from the window besides and I can also have a look outside how the weather is doing (or sometimes what the neighbours are doing 😉 ).

We have a very simple coffee maker and it is totally fine. There are different coffee pads you can purchase, also from huge coffee brands like Dallmayr or Jacobs. Another option you also have is a hot chocolate version which is also very yummy and calorie reduced cause it is made with hot water.

I personally love to have a clear theme so I got a coffee picture, some coffee themed books and a coffee candle that turned out to be the best smelling candle I have ever lit. The customized go-to Starbucks cups are from etsy. You can shop them here. The black and white mugs add some contrast. Now the upper shelf contains a cute fake plant and a wooden box where all of my teas are in. The white travel mug is from Emsa and my favorite brand. Never leaks and keeps my coffee hot.

The shelving system is Ikea. The shelves are called Burhult and the holder are called Ramshult.
