I am currently sitting on the sofa, it is raining outside and we are watching Hocus Pocus. What a coincidence, am I right sisters? 😉

We are halfway through October and what better way to get in the Halloween spirit than watching all the right movies. I am not a huge horror fan because all the hardcore movies creep the life out of me but thankfully there are a ton of cute and low-key frightening movies to watch.

We already watched a few and I can´t believe how great they are year after year. Make yourself some popcorn or your favorite drink and have a nice evening.

If there is something we have learned this year it is to live in the moment as nobody knows what happens next and a cozy and relaxing night in to distract from the current events is much needed from time to time.

How to properly burn down your candles + fall favorites…

I love candles. It is that easy to say. Give me a scented candle with a cute picture on the front of the jar and I am definitely sold. I am weak in that way but that´s how things are. That´s also why I probably own more candles than a church and have no problem to supply the whole neighborhood should there be a blackout.

My personal favorite brands are Yankee Candle, Village Candle and the cute Fall candles from Bath&Body Works. My most used candle time definitely is Fall and Winter. There are so many cute Summer candles but I am in no mood to light a candle when it´s searing hot outside.

How to properly burn down your candles

The first and most important step is to cut back the wick. It should only be a few millimetres long. That is how you get a small and constant flame to properly burn down the candle. It is also recommended to cut it back after every time you light it up.

Another important thing is the location of the candle. For a evenly burnt candle there should be no breeze that disturbs the flame from burning evenly or you will have wax on the side of the jar that is left. Would be a total waste of money and product.

For the last step (probably not even a real one) your candle should fit seamlessly into your seasonal decor. Fall is my favorite so I went with a bunch of different pumpkins on my mantle.

I love Fall and can´t wait for the 1rst of September to come around every year. It is my official start for Fall and although I can not wear my new and beloved Fall clothing now cause the temperatures don´t play along I can decorate my house for colorful Autumn days.

There are tons of different Fall decor out there but to be honest my favorite pieces are Fall candles and pumpkins. Getting new Fall candles are my jam. To be honest I love candles year round but Fall is THE time to light a candle and get cozy at home.

How to incorporate fancy pumpkins to your home decor

Style your fancy pumpkin in a bunch of different pumpkins. I love to incorporate different sizes, colors and structures of pumpkins into a decoration scheme, also different heights. That´s what makes it interesting. Adding some fake flowers or real Fall flowers adds up even more to your decor.

Style them as a center piece like I did with the studded pieces on the tray. The only decor I got there are the pumpkins so the focus stays on them. You can add some matches if you like to complement the Fall feel.

Style your pumpkin with a Fall candle to create the ultimate Fall setup. I went with the glittery big white pumpkin and Harvest Walk from Yankee Candle. It is my favorite corner in our living room.

Are you decorating for Fall? I definitely need to do our porch as well. Getting a bunch of pumpkins and mums on the weekend.

the weekend is near I can practically feel it although I don´t have much of a weekend cause Emilia isn´t taking a break but it is nice to slow down for three days and have my husband around to do things together.

But let´s talk about this fabulous blow-up pool I ordered for our garden. It has been THE investment for this year and I am not quite sure what could top it. It is our most used Summer accessory and the whole family including my mom loves it. We have used it nearly every day since the weather has become incredibly hot.

Having an iced coffee and sitting in the blow-up pool. It is the simple life in times of a pandemic that makes our day.

The blow-up pool has been an amazing amazon buy after seeing it on Kathleen Barnes Instagram. I also got the cover cause it is under our fruit trees which means lots of dirt in the water.

Bathing suits like the one I am wearing above have become a huge favorite of mine and this love has only grown over the last few years since they are getting more trendy and pretty. Also they are my best friends after having a baby. They suck in the places that need it most and still look fashionable and pretty.

I am now off to bed. See you tomorrow probably after we are home from a delicious breakfast. We do as much as we can outdoors to enjoy our Summer without getting on a Summer vacation. Travelling with a baby and Covid is just too much for me so we focused on making an outdoor oasis.
