having a baby or a toddler brings a lot of new challenges with it and for me one of them is leaving the house. I always feel like I need and extra hour to plan ahead and pack all the things and when I am on the way I am in constant fear of forgetting something.

But now with Summer time rolling around there is even more stuff to pack and it is not so depending on the places you go. It is the hot climate and several things to be aware of.

For my summer diaper bag edition I added lots of things into my bag I am going to share with you in a while but let´s have a look at this adorable bag first. The brand is called ahdorned and their website offers so many different prints and colors you might take a while to choose from.

I have first seen the shopper bag on Jackie Giardina from Living after Midnite and immediately thought it was stunning plus it checked all my boxes. It is huge (great to use as a travel/mom/diaper bag), it is made out of neoprene material (makes it super easy to wipe clean) and it is under 100 Euro (who wouldn´t want that).

Things to add to your diaper bag – Summer edition

Snack Cup // Toddlers snack all day everyday and this cup from Nip doesn´t loose a single thing and she can reach in nicely.

Bottle // We take her tea or water in this Philips straw bottle with us whenever we go out.

extra outfit // There are lot´s of opportunities why a toddler would need a new outfit but number one in the Summer months are the water fountains everywhere.

wet bag // In case the upper thing happens but also amazing if your baby has a blowout. It also seals in smells.

towel // In case the upper thing takes place.

toys // I always make sure to pack some toys and stuffed animals to keep her occupied in case we need to wait somewhere or are sitting down for a meal.

instant cool pack // This hasn´t been on my mind at all until I read an article about insects especially bees in parcs. Walking around and exploring the world and especially having no fear isn´t the best combo to meet a bee or wasp. These cool instant when you squeeze the packaging. Great for Summer picnics or trips.

plaster // Emilia falls a lot and mostly hurts herself and bleeds a little. She doesn´t mind at all but a plaster kees the dirt out of the wound.

sun hat // There is no excuse for a toddler to not wear a sun hat out in the sun. It is very important.

sun lotion // We are using the Hipp sunspray with SPF 50 for Emilia. It has great test reviews and I am very happy with it. It is on the pricier side but at least it is safe for our child.

burp cloth // I used these as a blanket in the Summer when she falls asleep in her stroller or even as sun protection in the car window.

diapers / wipes / lotion // Number one things I always carry with me.

disposable changing mat // I added these to our diaper bag cause many restaurants don´t have changing tables at all or the oldest crappiest changing mats and I don´t want my child to lie on there.

hand / face wipes // Very important after every dish or you will have every fly and bee around your toddlers face plus I really hate sticky fingers.

extra bottle of water // In case she is extra thirsty and her bottle isn´t enough I throw a small bottle of water into my bag.

I hope I haven´t forgotten anyhting. If it is the case I definitely add it to the list. So much to take with you with a little child. We are going on our first vacation with Emilia this Summer and I am anxious about packing. I don´t want to pack the whole house but I also don´t want to forget anything.  Definitely working on a packing list cause I am that type of person.

Hopefully you have enjoyed your holiday today. We went to the local swimming pool today and it felt like vacation.

See you tomorrow.

Best of Fashion Books // to read + coffee table styles…

….

I love home decor and many of my set-ups include a good amount of coffee table books. They are perfect to add a pop of color or to get different heights for your home decor.

But how great would it be if you could actually get some information out of your book. I personally love all of the Megan Hess books, not only are they beautifully drawn but they are also very informative on certain pieces and styles. Another one I really loved is the „How to look expensive“ book. It shares many great tips regarding beauty and fashion on how to save money and stay low maintenance while looking great.

Now if that isn´t two birds with one stone am I right?! All of the books I own are very affordable but there are some which cost up to 100 of Euro.

So how do I style the coffee table books? I either put two on top of each other and put a big decor piece like a lamp or a vase on it or I use a bigger book and place a picture a high slim vase and a candle in a jar with mathes beneath. There are hundreds of options to style your books.

Are you love coffee table books as much as I?

Happy Thursday you guys,

(post contains links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not sponsored)

anyone hungry and doesn´t know what to cook from time to time. Well as much as we love to cook sometimes we just don´t know what to make anymore and also shopping for groceries never was a great task and now with Covid it is even worse. So how convenient would be a service that delivers your weekly ingredients to your doorstep and all you have to do is cook, not even meassure the ingredients. That would be awesome am I right! I thought so too and went for it. I have known about Hello Fresh quite some time reading about it in an ad here and there but finally set up an account two months ago.

Hello Fresh is a meal-kit service that offers different meals every week. You can choose between three to five meals per week. We did three. I think this is a great amount cause on somedays we get take-out and other days we cook favorites. Three meals for 2 people is the smallest amount you can get. If you are a single household you would have plenty of leftovers to eat for lunch the next day.

I am ordering our meals over the app. It is very easy to navigate and there is not much you can do wrong. So subscribing to the service doesn´t mean you need to take their services every week. If you don´t like the menu or are out of town you can skip the weeks you don´t need food. We pay weekly so you don´t pay any money for the weeks you skip.

You can choose from every dish Hello Fresh offers for the week or you are putting in a filter like vegetarian, family friendly, low carb and express dish.

Sometimes a fresh produce isn´t available due to weather or traffic so they will notice you with an e-mail and exchange it for a similar item or give you some money back.

In conclusion the service is a great idea for everyone who hates grocery shopping, has no time to grocery shop, has not idea what to cook or who wants to try ususual dishes but not buy every little spice at a normal size. All the meals are pre-portioned so there won´t be any waste of food.

Delivery worked out very well so far. You can decide by yourself when your Hello Fresh order should arrive. We timed it for Monday and it always turned up on time. The perishable foods are cooled with ice packs and everything else is packed in several paper bags with all the ingredients you will need for the dish. The box itself is very sturdy so I don´t think the produce will be damaged ever.

Now let´s talk about the downsides. I think not being able to order single portions is a huge disadvantage for Hello Fresh because there are so many single households out there.

Another thing that has bothered me a lot is that you need so much dishes. For almost every menu you need an oven tray, a pot, a pan and several bowls for gravy, dressing or anything else. It is incredible how much dirty dishes are produced with the regular menus.

Overall it is very well priced and you would not save much or nothing at all by buying all the ingredients in store but if you order pasta dishes only I think the 40 Euro are too much for a week of prepped meals cause let´s be honest noodles itself almost cost nothing.

Despite everything I said I think we will definitely continue to use it. Not for every week but from time to time it is a nice change to get some fresh ideas and also life is busy enough sometimes there will be no time left to worry about cooking.

There is a discount code that will be valuable till the end of the year for Hello Fresh Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It is fresh21 for 50 Euro off on your first month (10 Euro off, 10 Euro off, 5 Euro off, 5 Euro off).

Hopefully this was useful for you guys. If you have any questions left feel free to ask. See you.

Happy Thursday you guys,

(post contains affiliate links/Werbung/Markennennung/Beitrag enthält Affiliate Links-not spnsored)

if the last year has taught us anything it´s that your health is most important overall. With a world wide pandemic still going strong many people got sick and still aren´t recovered fully.

Even if you are a mindful and healthy eater you probably won´t get enough of the vitamins you should have for a healthy metabolism and strong immune system cause most of the processed foods or vegetables/fruit don´t have what it takes to help you out in this department.

Don´t get me wrong we try to eat as healthy as possible but sometimes you need support in certain areas of your live.

Supplements I am taking

First and foremost I am not a doctor and I have no medical knowledge therefore I am not recommending to take anything without talking to one. This is just an example what I take and what helps me stay as healthy as possible in these unsure times.

Vitamin C // Vitamin C is the classic, the mother of the vitamins. A few hundred years back and in some areas still Vitamin C was used to treat and prevent scurvy cause if you have a high shortage you teeth could fall out for example. Nowaday Vitamin C is used to protect cells and keeping them healthy, maintaining healthy skin and bones.

Vitamin D // Almost every adult has a shortage on Vitamin D which is definitely alarming for a country like Germany where we have access to everything. The body is able to absorb Vitamin D from certain foods like spinach, kale, soy beans and okras as well as from direct sunlight but still not as much as the human body would need to be satisfied. Vitamin D is important for your brain. It helps to lighten your mood but it will also support fertility plus taken together with calcium it helps to maintain strong bones and prevent diseases like osteoporosis.

Vitamin B6 // This also has been one of the vitamins I have taken since I found out I was pregnant. It is supposed to help with your energy level, boost your immune system and help with blood formation.

Zinc // Another great supplement. Zinc helps the immune system fight off bacteria and viruses. The body also needs zinc to make proteins and DNA, the genetic material in all cells. During pregnancy, infancy, and childhood, the body needs zinc to grow and develop properly.

Magnesium // I have been taking this since early in my pregnancy cause it had very bad ligament pain and taking magnesium three times a day helped a lot so I got very used to it and take it as well. Probably what helped to prevent sore muscles after starting to work out again but Magnesium itself has other great benefits too. It´s regulating blood pressure, supporting the immune system and helps with muscle and nerve function.

Selen // This is a new to me supplement I recently incorporated into my daily rations. It is known to help with thyroid function and protects your body from damage by oxidative stress. Selenium can also give you a great boost for your immune system and helps to prevent heart disease.

Omega 3 // Omega 3 or the fatty acid is known as the heart supplement. It can help prevent cardivasculare diseases and helps very well with inflammation. I have been using this for a while now but to be honest I hate how big the capsules are.

Pill Box is from amazon and it helps me stay on top of my daily doses.
